`"Oh ho ho ho..."
The laugh echoed under the vaulted ceilings of the TVA's retro-futuristic architecture. It sounded so elegant, yet sent a chill deep into the bones.
Frieza hovered in the air, his fingertip relentlessly pouring out a terrifying purple light, as if energy were free.
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
Every Death Beam was followed by a massive explosion and the collapse of a building.
This was not Earth.
There were no damned property deeds or commercial plazas under his name.
More importantly, this awful place didn't even have an atmosphere, so he didn't have to worry about accidentally using too much power and blowing up a planet.
"Awesome! This is absolutely awesome!"
Frieza cheered internally. This feeling of unleashing his combat power without restraint was as satisfying as finally finding a restroom after holding it for three days.
On Earth, he had to hold back, afraid of destroying his own backyard.
But here?
This was called—freedom!
Rumble!
Frieza casually tossed an energy blast the size of a basketball, aiming it directly at a tall tower in the distance.
The structure, symbolizing the TVA's authority, instantly turned into dust, like a sandcastle hit by a wave.
The Time Variance Authority agents below who tried to resist were vaporized along with their faith, without even having time to scream.
---
[Ding! Extreme panic detected in all TVA personnel! Fear Value +1000!]
[Ding! Fear Value +2000!]
[Ding! Fear Value is soaring...]
Listening to the wonderful system notifications, Frieza felt like he was absolutely in love with this place.
What Time Variance Authority? This was clearly his Fear Value ATM!
"Well, the warm-up is over."
Frieza dusted off his hands, though there was no dust, and his scarlet eyes looked toward the highest point of the city.
There, he sensed a few slightly stronger "ki" signatures.
"Time to meet the masters of this place. I hope they can give me a satisfactory explanation."
Swoosh—!
Frieza turned into a purple streak of light, instantly breaking through the layers of barriers and smashing directly through the giant golden door engraved with the Sacred Timeline pattern.
CRASH!
The door shattered, sending dust and debris everywhere.
It was a hall filled with a mystical atmosphere, and at the far end sat three beings that looked like mummified corpses.
The Time-Keepers.
Of course, Frieza knew they were just three robotic puppets, but that wouldn't stop him from putting on a show.
"You... you dare to trespass here!"
The Time-Keeper in the middle spoke in a mechanical, authoritative voice, though its hand was visibly trembling.
"Criminal Frieza! Your actions have severely threatened the stability of the Sacred Timeline!"
"Stop your barbarism immediately! Surrender and face punishment! It is your only option!"
Another Time-Keeper chimed in, trying to use verbal intimidation to deter the monster.
However.
"Oh dear, oh dear..."
Frieza slowly descended in front of them, his expensive suit still spotless.
He tilted his head, looking at the three puppets with an expression reserved for the mentally challenged.
"The Sacred Timeline?"
Frieza scoffed, sticking his pinky finger in his ear.
"What does that invisible, intangible nonsense have to do with me?"
"However, as for you all..."
Frieza's expression suddenly turned ice-cold, and a terrifying murderous aura instantly swept through the hall.
"My tower was blown up, my hotel collapsed, and my assets shrank by seventy percent!"
"As the self-proclaimed Guardians of Time, since you claim to have planned everything, why didn't you plan for the security of my personal fortune?"
The Time-Keepers: ???
The three puppets exchanged bewildered glances, their CPUs practically overheating.
What in the hell kind of logic was that?
The Battle of New York was your experience. What does that have to do with us?
"This... this has nothing to do with the Sacred Timeline! That was predetermined destiny!" the central Time-Keeper weakly retorted.
"Furthermore! If you destroy this place, the Timeline will collapse! Countless branches will appear!"
"And then, a far more terrifying conqueror—Kang—will emerge and destroy everything!"
It tried to use the threat of the true mastermind to scare Frieza off.
Unfortunately, it chose the wrong target.
"Kang?"
Frieza raised an eyebrow, a cold, disdainful smirk playing on his lips.
"You mean that guy who wears those tacky purple and green clothes?"
"Instead of worrying about him..."
Frieza slowly raised his right hand. On the tip of his index finger, an ominous dark-purple energy sphere, no bigger than a billiard ball but radiating a suffocating power of destruction, began to condense.
It was a—Destruction Ball!
"You should worry about yourselves first."
"After all, your Lord Frieza is in a very bad mood right now."
Sensing the terrifying, world-erasing energy contained within the small sphere, the Time-Keepers finally panicked.
"No! Stop! You can't do this!"
"This is blasphemy against the rules! You'll destroy everything!"
"Please... we can talk!"
Watching the formerly arrogant beings beg like dogs, Frieza's wicked amusement was immensely satisfied.
"Talk?"
Frieza's smile grew wider and crueler.
"Too late."
"If this dump can't even protect my money, then it has no reason to exist."
Before the words were finished.
Frieza flicked his finger.
The dark-purple Destruction Ball, like a slow-moving sprite of death, drifted toward the floor.
Simultaneously.
Frieza quickly pulled the stolen Time-Stick from his pocket.
He rapidly tapped a few buttons.
"Destination: The Void at the End of Time."
"I need to go collect my troublesome employees; after all, recruiting is a pain."
Vwoom!
An orange portal opened behind him.
Frieza didn't spare a glance for the three despairing Time-Keepers, turning and stepping through the light gate.
The very instant he vanished.
The Destruction Ball made contact with the floor.
BOOM————!!!
There was no sound.
Because sound could not keep up with the speed of destruction.
A dazzling white light instantly consumed the entire hall, followed by the entire TVA headquarters, and finally, the entire space that existed outside of time.
The Sacred Timeline. The Time Variance Authority.
In the face of the absolute power of the Universe Emperor.
They were all reduced to the most fundamental dust in the cosmos.
