Chapter 108 - A Shocking Situation

After escaping the deadly abyss, Meng Ke'er flew for a hundred miles before stopping. After a moment's thought, she landed on a mountain peak.

Ling Yun was transported by a spatial magic scroll to a valley five miles away. After more than two hours of arduous trekking, he finally found his way back and discovered the blue dragon that was the female Tyrannosaurus Knight. Overjoyed, he ran over quickly. The dragon was familiar with him and showed no hostility whatsoever.

Ling Yun's despicable and shameless nature once again played a significant role. Through his repeated deception and persuasion, Ya Long carried him away from the mountains and flew towards the City of Sin, at twice the speed of usual.

Although dragons are intelligent creatures, they are far less cunning than humans. The dragon was deceived by Ling Yun, believing that its master urgently needed the help of the experts from the City of Sin, unaware that the person in front of it was the real executioner.

When Meng Ke'er saw Ling Yun riding on the back of the dragon, flying over the mountains, a strange light flashed in her eyes. She wanted to take off, but then stopped. She didn't utter a sound throughout the whole process...

After arriving in the City of Sin, Ling Yun did not rush to the Divine Wind Academy. As soon as he entered the city, he wrote a letter: "Quickly dispatch the most elite experts of the family to come and help me on flying dragons..."

He wrote thousands of words in great detail, then tied them to the leg of a carrier pigeon and released it. Only after completing this did Ling Yun head towards Shenfeng Academy.

The nameless demon god gradually calmed down, looked directly at Chen Nan, and said, "You have already asked me many questions, now let's talk about yourself. Where exactly do you come from? Why do you understand the ancient language I speak? What is your identity, and why are there so many strange things within you?"

Chen Nan was somewhat excited. Finally, they were going to talk about his secrets. With the knowledge of the nameless god and demon, he was sure he could see through the secrets within him.

He gradually calmed down, organized his thoughts, and said, "In the distant past, the world was clear and bright, the gods were high above, and everyone spoke the language you and I speak now... I was a person from that era, and I died in a duel... But when I opened my eyes again, I found that the whole world had changed... Before me lay an endless tomb of gods and demons, the gods of the past were all dead, and I had actually been resurrected from the tomb of the gods... The world has changed, everything has changed..."

Chen Nan's voice was hoarse and his tone was low. Even though he had long since adapted to life in this world, he still felt lost and confused at this moment...

The nameless god-demon listened quietly until Chen Nan finished speaking. He then placed his hand on Chen Nan's back, and soon a look of shock appeared on his face. He then closed his eyes and began to ponder.

After a long while, he stopped, opened his single eye, and said, "Ever since I discovered the secret within you, I have suspected that you, like me, have long since died, and your soul is imprisoned within your dead body."

Upon hearing this, Chen Nan staggered back several steps, unable to accept the fact, his face showing horror.

The nameless demon waved his hand and said, "Don't be afraid, things are far from that simple. Let me finish. I've always suspected that someone forcibly imprisoned my soul in my already dead body, so when I saw the large amount of death energy in your body, I assumed you were also a 'living dead.' But now it seems that's not the case. It's certain that after you died, someone did use some methods on you to defy fate and bring you back to life! Although your body is filled with endless death energy, it's also filled with a large amount of life energy. Life and death are fused together. This is the first time I've ever seen such a strange phenomenon."

Chen Nan felt slightly comforted.

The nameless god-demon continued, "If it were to defy the heavens and snatch the life of someone on the verge of death, I think many powerful beings in the world could do it. But to bring someone who has been dead for a long time back to life is truly terrifying. Such cultivation is beyond compare! Just imagine, if he wanted to, wouldn't he be able to summon the soul of a legendary, long-deceased supreme being? I really can't imagine such a person existing! But thankfully, he is far less powerful than I imagined."

The nameless god-demon pondered for a moment, then said, "Your resurrection was due in two ways. First, it relied on that person's unparalleled cultivation, which defied fate and reunited your scattered soul, suppressing it within your body. Second, it relied on the spiritual energy emanating from the deceased gods and demons within the God-Demon Cemetery, which helped you regain your life force. The person who defied fate for you used astonishing methods, actually targeting deceased gods and demons; truly a genius!"

Chen Nan breathed a sigh of relief, no longer worried.

The nameless demon looked at him and said, "The Divine Demon Cemetery is an extremely special place, filled with the aura of gods, making it an excellent location for your resurrection. However, life and death are interdependent in the world; where there is life energy, there is also death energy. The person who defied fate for you must have set up some kind of mysterious array around your little tomb to block the death energy and gather the life energy. However, the death energy cannot be completely blocked from the array. While you absorbed endless life energy, you also accumulated endless death energy within your body, only with more life energy. But if this balance is broken one day, you will once again fall into an abyss of no return."

Chen Nan was shocked; he hadn't expected such a huge hidden danger.

The nameless demon said, "Only by expelling the endless death energy from your body can the hidden danger be completely eliminated. However, moving one part affects the whole body, and the slightest carelessness will disrupt the balance of life and death. In that case, you will completely disappear and it will be impossible to reunite your soul. Therefore, even I dare not help you."

Chen Nan felt a headache coming on. Having just glimpsed the secret of resurrection, he felt a sense of unease.

The nameless god-demon comforted him, "Although the death energy within your body is difficult to expel, unless something unexpected happens, that delicate balance of life and death will not be easily broken. In general, you will not be in any danger."

Chen Nan, however, did not think so. He felt as if there was a barrel of drugs buried inside his body, which could be ignited and explode at the slightest carelessness.

The nameless demon said, "The stability of the life-and-death situation is not your biggest hidden danger. Your biggest hidden danger comes from the divine and demonic power within you. Although the person who defied fate for you possesses boundless magical power, they still failed to foresee another unforeseen event. While the divine aura was condensing the life force, the divine and demonic power dissipated by the gods and demons was also quietly condensing. Over the past ten thousand years, this divine and demonic power has accumulated and settled within you, reaching a considerable level. When you were in a daze, I opened my Heavenly Eye and discovered two orbs of light formed from the divine and demonic power within you. They were actually emitting bursts of life pulses; they were clearly two living beings. I fear that one day you will be devoured by them."

Chen Nan was a little nervous and asked, "When do you think they'll start turning against me?"

"It's hard to say, but one thing is certain: they are using your body to grow, and one day they will turn against you and break free."

A sudden, absurd thought flashed through Chen Nan's mind—a thought that was anything but funny; it was utterly terrifying. A chill ran down his spine, and he was filled with immense fear. He stammered, "So, does that mean my body is just a furnace for them?"

"That's how it is," the nameless demon replied. Suddenly, he seemed to understand Chen Nan's meaning, and a terrifying red light shot out from his single eye. He exclaimed, "You...you think..."

Chen Nan felt a chill run down his spine and said with a bitter smile, "Why would someone with such extraordinary abilities save me for no reason? I think it was all part of his plan. I was just a pitiful vessel for his soul, and what he wanted was for the two lives within me to come into this world..."

"What a brilliant scheme! What a grand plan!" Even the nameless god-demon couldn't help but show a look of shock. He said in a deep voice, "If this really was a scheme orchestrated by someone, the outcome they hoped for must be incredibly ambitious. This earth-shattering plan actually requires ten thousand years to complete. They truly have a grand vision! Who exactly are they? What are they trying to achieve?!"

The nameless demon suddenly appeared in pain, tearing at his long, blood-red hair. He seemed to be trying hard to recall something, as if he had grasped the essence of the problem. His ferocious face twisted and contorted, but in the end he could only groan in pain and sigh helplessly.

Chen Nan remained silent. If this conjecture were true, then all of this was truly terrifying.

Was it a benevolent rescue, or a meticulously orchestrated, earth-shattering scheme? It's all a mystery!

If it's a rescue done out of goodwill, that's fine; there are always unexpected and fortunate events in this world. But if it's a carefully orchestrated, deliberately crafted scheme, then the person behind it is truly terrifying!

With extraordinary magical powers, a meticulous mind, and a history of meticulous planning spanning millennia, what kind of person is he? What is he really trying to achieve? What kind of outcome is he hoping for?

A gentle breeze stirred, ruffling Chen Nan's long hair and stirring his own heart, leaving him utterly bewildered. He was once an ordinary young man from ten thousand years ago, but after dying for millennia, he had miraculously resurrected from an ancient divine tomb. The mystery of his resurrection had shrouded the ages, concealing endless secrets and containing the machinations of gods and demons, shrouded in an endless fog of mystery…

The nameless demon sighed heavily, patted his shoulder, and said, "Don't worry, it's all just speculation. We can't guess what's really going on yet. I don't think what happened to you is necessarily a conspiracy, or a setup deliberately created by someone. Try to recall if there are any other important or valuable clues, and tell me. Maybe I can deduce something."
