Chapter 88 - The Mage's Mount

Chen Nan sneered, "What a joke! Do you assassins have the right to blame me for a sneak attack? You yourselves are shady characters!"

"We have already given you the employer's letter, and mentioned his name. Why are you still acting this way?"

"Hmph, are you really that naive, or are you just pretending to be confused? You came here to attack me, and you think you can get away with it with just a letter and a few words? There's no such thing as a free lunch! I don't want to kill anyone at Shenfeng Academy, but I must cripple your powers to prevent you from continuing to do evil in the future."

"No, you can't do that!" The assassins lying on the ground screamed frantically, "Please, don't ruin our skills! We'd rather give up an arm in exchange!"

Chen Nan sighed and said, "Those who kill will be killed. To cripple your powers and let you live like ordinary people is the greatest mercy I can show you." He clapped his hands a few times at the people on the ground, ignoring their screams, and then said to the two mages in the air, "Now it's your turn." He kicked the broken sword on the ground and sent it shooting into the air.

The two mages in the air were already terrified. They knew they could no longer harm Chen Nan, so they turned and flew away from the training ground.

A cold smile crept across Chen Nan's lips. This was the result he wanted. He used the Divine Void Step to keep up with the lead. At the exit of the martial arts arena, he leaped up onto a tall bleacher platform and then took to the air again.

The two mages in the air were terrified and hurriedly flew up again, but at that moment Chen Nan had already unleashed his Dragon-Capturing Hand, and a huge palm of light swiftly attacked the mage in the air, instantly enveloping the second-tier mage.

The Dragon-Capturing Hand swept the mage back, while Chen Nan's body plummeted towards the ground. He used his other hand to continuously strike downwards, trying to stop the fall.

As he landed safely on the ground, the Dragon-Capturing Hand also caught the mage. Chen Nan grabbed him by the collar, lifted him up, and slammed him hard to the ground. The mage screamed in agony, nearly fainting from the pain.

Chen Nan stuck out a foot and stepped on the mage's back, watching the mage walk away. He frowned, but a smile quickly crept onto his lips. He stomped hard on the mage's back and said viciously, "Want to live?"

The mage screamed in agony again, saying, "I...I want to live..."

"If you want to live, do as I say." With that, Chen Nan placed both feet on the mage's back and said, "Fly up now and chase after that bastard."

The magician grimaced and said in a trembling voice, "But you...you're stepping on me..."

"Of course I want you to drive me to chase that guy."

"Wh...what?!" The mage was so angry he almost fainted.

"Do you even want to live?" Chen Nan stomped his foot a little harder, and the second-tier mage almost cried out in pain.

"I promise you... don't use force..." the magician groaned in pain, then chanted a spell, and slowly floated up with Chen Nan on his back.

At this moment, the mage who had been fleeing ahead had stopped and was watching from a distance. When he saw his companion being trampled under Chen Nan's feet and flying towards him, his jaw nearly dropped in surprise. Then, as if he had come to his senses, he hurriedly fled.

Chen Nan stomped on the mage beneath him and said, "Hurry and chase after him! You're a second-tier mage, while he's only at the first tier. If you can't catch him, be careful I don't kill you right now."

Upon hearing this, the magician trembled, and his flight speed noticeably increased.

"No, keep accelerating. Don't try any tricks on me. You should know my strength. If I sense anything amiss, I'll take your life first."

The mage sighed helplessly and quickly chased after the other mage, getting closer and closer.

The mage ahead, realizing the urgency of the situation, lost his bearings and fled for his life, eventually crashing into the sky above the Divine Wind Academy plaza. At that moment, a clash of titans between the young powerhouses of the four academies was taking place on the plaza, drawing tens of thousands of onlookers. His sudden arrival above the plaza quickly attracted the attention of some.

As Chen Nan caught up with the magician, most of the people in the square had already seen the scene in the air. The people on the ground were astonished, their mouths agape, exclaiming and discussing among themselves.

"Oh my god, am I seeing things?!"

"That's... a humanoid monster carrying its master?!"

"That doesn't seem to be a monster, it's a person!"

"Oh my god, is Kamikaze Academy planning to put on some entertainment?!"

...

The crowd in the square gasped and pointed, their voices rising and falling in an instant. Finally, everyone noticed the anomaly in the sky and looked up in surprise.

Even those senior figures on the stands, who were usually as steady as Mount Tai, couldn't help but look up at the sky. After seeing what was happening in the air, many of them couldn't help but spit out their tea with a "pfft".

On the stands of Shenfeng Academy, the vice dean was so angry that his beard twitched repeatedly. He never expected Chen Nan to be so "clown," which made him feel that the academy had lost face.

The battle in the center of the square seemed to have lost its appeal, and now almost everyone was looking up in awe. Finally, quite a few people recognized Chen Nan, and many young people exclaimed in surprise again.

"Isn't that Chen Nan, the extraordinary protector of the Chu Kingdom...?"

"It was him! I witnessed everything he did in the capital of Jin: beheading the wicked young master, slaying the dragon with a flying knife, single-handedly fighting an army of a thousand, and using the Seven Demon Blades to kill a fifth-tier peerless master—it was all him!"

"He's that murderous monster?!"

"What is he planning to do now?!"

"Protest! Strong protest! He treated a noble mage like a pet! We demand that he be punished!"

...

Chen Nan used the magician's flying mount to quickly catch up with the person in front of him. He raised his right palm and struck forward, sending a burst of energy into the magician's body. The magician screamed and staggered as he fell to the ground.

Chen Nan acted with restraint, destroying some of the mage's meridians without taking his life. Now that things had come to this, he wanted to order the mage beneath him to descend to the ground. However, at that moment, a deafening tiger's roar echoed from the northwest of the plaza, and a snow-white tiger with a single horn on its head and two wings on its ribs soared into the air, arriving before him in an instant, as swift as lightning.

The person sitting atop the flying tiger was none other than Chu Yu, the little princess of the Chu Kingdom. She wore a pale yellow dress, her jet-black hair fluttered in the wind, and her skin was as white as snow. Sitting on the pure white tiger king, she looked like a fairy descending to earth.

At this moment, the cunning little princess's bright eyes were full of mischief. She smiled maliciously at Chen Nan and said, "Hehe, this is so funny, you scoundrel, you're so impressive!"
