Chapter 55 - Dragon Rider

Beneath the blue sky, fluffy white clouds drifted by as ten people rode four-headed dragons, hurtling through the air and leaving behind a trail of screams. Three of the ten dragon riders were already accustomed to this speed of covering hundreds of miles in an instant, but most of the others were experiencing this altitude of a thousand meters for the first time, and couldn't help feeling a little nervous.

Half an hour later, everyone gradually adapted to the speed and began to enjoy the thrill. Everyone was excited, looking down at the mountains and rivers, feeling exhilarated, as if the whole world was under their control.

The three-headed dragon flew extremely fast. Everyone originally thought that the wobbly little dragon might not be able to catch up with the three adult dragons, after all, it looked so small.

To everyone's surprise, the little dragon moved with lightning speed, instantly overtaking the dragon that had initially been far ahead. When it truly spread its wings and took flight, it was steady and composed, without a trace of its previous clumsiness. If Chen Nan hadn't hurriedly ordered it to slow down, it might have left the three-headed dragon far behind in the blink of an eye.

The way everyone looked at Xiaolong changed again. This little guy was a real treasure. Longwu really wanted to kick Chen Nan off the stage and make Xiaolong "abandon darkness and embrace light".

Flying over mountains and crossing plains, the group soon left the Ten Thousand Mountains in the central region of the Tianyuan Continent and entered the territory of the Chu Kingdom. As the sun set, they decided to continue their journey the next day and find an inn to stay in.

Although the Chu Kingdom borders the mountains of the central Tianyuan Continent, its seasons are completely different. The mountainous region where the City of Sin is located has an extremely unusual climate; the mountains remain evergreen year-round, with no temperature fluctuations, making it spring-like all year round. Now, however, the Chu Kingdom is already in early autumn; although the leaves haven't yet fallen, they are already clearly tinged with the colors of autumn.

Experiencing two seasons in half a day, the group couldn't help but marvel at the mountains in the central part of the continent. Living there, they didn't notice anything unusual until they left and realized that autumn had arrived without them noticing.

To avoid causing a stir, the group landed outside a small, not particularly bustling town. The three dragon riders sent the three-headed dragon into the forest to forage for itself. When everyone turned their attention to the baby dragon, it blinked its bright eyes, looking innocent, and refused to leave, insisting on going into the town with them.

The adorable little dragon was so clingy that no one expected it. Seeing its pitiful look, no one could bear to leave it in the wilderness, so they took it with them into the town.

Little Dragon happily followed behind the crowd, swaying as he entered the town. Passersby stopped to watch; most people had never seen such a powerful creature as a dragon. Little Dragon's appearance in this remote town immediately caused a sensation, attracting many onlookers.

At first, Xiaolong didn't care about the stares from the crowd on the street, but later he gradually showed his dissatisfaction. He would often stick his huge dragon head out, scaring the people away and making the children cry loudly.

Seeing the panicked crowd, it showed excitement and almost rushed into the crowd to cause trouble, but fortunately Chen Nan pulled its dragon horns back.

Everyone couldn't help but smile as they looked at the baby dragon, who resembled a little child.

They finally found a satisfactory inn, and the group went inside, with Xiaolong following behind.

When the innkeeper saw the enormous creature behind them, he nearly fainted from fright. He hurriedly retreated, stammering, "Sirs...you..."

Kevin quickly stepped forward and said, "Don't be afraid, it's just a little dragon, it won't hurt anyone."

Seeing that the young men were handsome and robust, and the women were beautiful and charming, the waiter felt relieved and didn't think they were bad people at all. He avoided Xiaolong, registered everyone, and then led them to the backyard.

The ten people booked five rooms, two people per room. Chen Nan chose to share a room with Guan Hao, since he was the one he knew best among them.

The little dragon rested on the grass outside the house. Although it wanted to be with Chen Nan, if its huge body forced its way into the house, the whole house would probably collapse.

During dinner, Chen Nan took a whole ginseng from his package and put it into Xiao Long's mouth. Xiao Long happily swallowed it in a few bites, then closed his eyes and lay motionless on the grass.

Everyone was greatly surprised. Long Wu seemed to understand something and said, "It seems that the little dragon is refining the medicinal power of that hundred-year-old ginseng. No wonder this little guy's strength is unpredictable. If it eats this kind of thing every day, it will break through to the Saint Dragon Realm sooner or later."

The next breakthrough in the Sacred Dragon Realm is, of course, the legendary Divine Dragon Realm. Divine dragons have always only appeared in myths and legends and rarely appear in the real world.

Chen Nan was well aware of Xiaolong's strength. According to the vice dean, it was the most powerful holy dragon in Shenfeng Academy in a thousand years. If it could break through to the holy dragon realm, he would not be surprised at all.

Ordinary people may not be able to fully refine the medicinal power of spiritual herbs, but powerful holy dragons certainly can. The little dragon's refusal to leave Shenfeng Academy is undoubtedly because it has its eye on the academy's medicine storehouse. With the aid of spiritual herbs, its cultivation will be twice as effective.

The group found the front hall too noisy and didn't eat there. Instead, they asked the restaurant staff to set up a large table next to the flowerbed in the backyard, where the ten of them enjoyed their dinner.

Chen Nan, Guan Hao, and the others inevitably had to drink. The men at the table exchanged glances and, without prior arrangement, began urging the women to drink. This drew laughter and scolding from Long Wu and the others, who accused them of having ulterior motives.

As the aroma of wine began to waft through the courtyard, Xiaolong opened its big eyes and swayed towards the dining table. Longwu truly adored it and handed it half a roast chicken, which Xiaolong devoured in one gulp.

The little dragon tasted cooked food for the first time and found it incredibly delicious. Its eyes lit up and it started to whimper.

Chen Nan chuckled and said, "Don't worry, little dragon, I'll get you something to eat." He beckoned to a waiter nearby and said, "Bring me a whole pig, a whole sheep, and a whole goose, until this little guy is full."

The waiter secretly clicked his tongue in amazement. This guy was really rich. If that "little guy" ate his fill, the inn would definitely make a fortune.

The nine people next to Chen Nan looked at him strangely, secretly guessing that he must have a grudge against the vice dean. He was feeding Xiao Long so lavishly, and when he went back to report the finances to the vice dean, the old man would definitely cry.

The little dragon kept babbling to Chen Nan, its dragon-like smile making its big eyes almost squint into slits.

The group mingled and drank by the flowerbed, while Little Dragon devoured the food with great relish. It wasn't until it had consumed three pigs, five whole roasted lambs, and over a dozen roasted geese that it reluctantly ended its feast.

But then its gaze fell upon the wine glasses in everyone's hands. Long Wu knew at a glance that something bad was about to happen, and she said to the little dragon, "Little guy, that's not good stuff, don't drink it..."

Chen Nan interrupted her and asked the little dragon, "Would the little dragon like to try some?"

Xiao Long nodded hopefully, his eyes shining with excitement.

Chen Nan made it open its mouth, and then carefully poured a little bit into its mouth. He dared not pour it in too quickly, for fear that the little dragon would not be able to handle it and would go berserk, causing some trouble.

To everyone's surprise, Xiaolong smacked his lips, then nodded repeatedly, stretched out his two front paws to pick up the jar of wine on the table, and then drank it down in a "glug glug" manner.

Everyone was dumbfounded. What kind of dragon was this, that it could drink so heartily?

Chen Nan waved to the waiter again and said, "Bring the wine, until this little guy is satisfied."

The guy next to him was stunned. It took him a long time to come to his senses and run to the front yard.

This time, the way Long Wu, Kevin, Guan Hao, and the others looked at Chen Nan completely changed. This guy was clearly teaching Xiao Long to be bad.

Long Wu couldn't help but say, "You scoundrel, how could you do this? Little Dragon is so cute, and you... you actually taught it to drink! We can't let it follow you anymore. If it passes on your scoundrel habits, it will become a problem dragon sooner or later. We can't let you continue to poison it."

She waved to Xiaolong and said, "Xiaolong, come here to your brother. Don't follow that bad guy anymore."

Xiao Long blinked his big eyes, but didn't say anything.

Chen Nan chuckled, "How dare you try to sow discord between me and Long Baobao? A woman trying to be its older brother? It can only be my younger brother. If you want to get closer, you can be its younger sister. Hehe, Little Long, what do you think of this suggestion?"

To everyone's amusement, Xiao Long actually nodded seriously.

Long Wu was furious and almost lost her temper. She cursed, "You scoundrel, look what you've done to the little dragon! It used to be a very cute little dragon, but now it's almost turned into a little rascal!"

Just then, several waiters brought over a dozen jars of fine wine. Xiao Long happily let out a few "woo-woo" sounds, and couldn't wait to pick up a jar and drink it down.

Amidst the curious and astonished gazes of the crowd, Little Dragon Whale gulped down the wine, emptying more than a dozen jars in no time. Finally, he staggered to the grass and collapsed drunk on the ground with a "thump."

After everyone finished dinner, they all returned to their own rooms.

That night, Chen Nan laughed in his dreams. It was easy to imagine that when Xiao Long returned to Shenfeng Academy, he would not only continue to ask the vice dean for spiritual medicine, but would probably also need to be served wine and meat every day, which would definitely give the vice dean a headache.

The next day, as the group set off, a problem arose. Xiao Long had drunk too much the previous day and was still not sober by dawn. He walked with a swaying gait, unlike his usual comical, unsteady stagger. Now, his swaying was so pronounced it was alarming, as if he might collapse at any moment.

Upon leaving the town, the three dragon knights roared to the sky and summoned their dragons. As everyone mounted their dragons, Chen Nan secretly groaned. In its current state, who knew if the little dragon would "dance" or "somersault" if it took flight?

He nervously climbed onto the baby dragon's back, then whispered, "Baby dragon, can you fly like this?"

Xiao Long, reeking of alcohol, turned around, nodded at him, and then soared into the sky.

Chen Nan's heart was in his throat. He nervously climbed onto its neck and gripped its horns tightly.

The other nine people burst into laughter upon seeing this.

At first, Xiaolong flew steadily, but later it gradually lost its balance, swaying up and down and left and right in the air.

Chen Nan's face turned deathly pale. If he were to fall from a height of several thousand meters, even with his extraordinary skills, he would be smashed to pieces.

He shouted ahead, "Hey, wait a minute! I can't stay on the little dragon any longer. Make way for me, I'm switching to a flying dragon."

The nine people in front smiled and said in unison, "No."

"Please, everyone, do you have any humanity? This is not the time for jokes. If this continues, someone will die."

Long Wu chuckled, "Serves you right for always going against your brother. Now you can play with Little Dragon."

"Dragon Dance..."

"Little Five..."

"Little Brother Long..."

"Brother Long..."

"Little Dragon Sister..."

"Sister Long..."

Chen Nan kept changing how he addressed Long Wu, but it was no use to her, as she always called him "brother." She pouted angrily and said, "Stop with those disgusting nicknames. Unless you let Xiao Long follow me from now on, you'll just obediently follow behind me."

Just then, the little dragon suddenly seemed to fall asleep, its wings folded together, it stopped flapping, and it fell from the sky like a free fall.

"Ah..." Chen Nan screamed in surprise in mid-air.

The nine people on the three-headed dragons in front of them changed their expressions drastically, all regretting their earlier prank; they really shouldn't have refused Chen Nan's request to come. Under their master's command, the three-headed dragons quickly chased after them downwards, but they couldn't catch up.

The wind howled in Chen Nan's ears, and the fierce gale made it difficult for him to open his eyes. He gripped the little dragon's horns tightly with both hands and squeezed its neck with his legs.

"Baby Dragon, wake up..." Chen Nan shouted, but as a strong gust of wind blew into his mouth, he could no longer speak. He had to shake the little dragon's horns vigorously, and after descending several hundred meters at high speed, he finally managed to wake the drowsy little dragon.

The little dragon looked around blankly, then turned back and smiled at Chen Nan with narrowed eyes. Finally, it slowly spread its wings, stopping its descent.

Chen Nan breathed a sigh of relief; he was now covered in a cold sweat.

The three-headed dragons high in the sky had caught up and were coming down. Seeing that the little dragon had regained consciousness, the nine people on board breathed a sigh of relief. They dared not joke around in the air anymore, and decided to land on the ground as soon as possible so that Chen Nan could switch to another dragon.

Upon landing, another problem arose. The little dragon was currently in a drunken state; if it continued to fly, who knew if it would suffer another freefall, potentially becoming the first holy dragon in history to die from a fall. However, waiting for it to fully sober up would likely take at least half a day.

In order not to delay their journey, the group finally came up with an extremely absurd idea: ten people would ride on two flying dragons, while the other flying dragon would carry a smaller dragon.

This ridiculous idea was immediately approved by the group of energetic young people, because everyone thought it was very interesting!

Chen Nan patiently communicated with the little dragon. He originally thought it would reject the decision, but to his surprise, it immediately climbed onto the back of a flying dragon with astonishing speed.

Chen Nan was genuinely suspicious that this seemingly naive and ridiculous fellow had been planning this all along. Otherwise, why would it climb onto the dragon's back after he had only spoken half of what it had to say?

The moment the little dragon climbed onto the back of the flying dragon, the flying dragon collapsed to the ground, trembling all over, which made everyone deeply appreciate the power of the holy dragon.

After the little dragon cried out a few times, the flying dragon finally stopped trembling, and cautiously got up and flew steadily into the air.

The seven-zhang-long flying dragon carefully carried the baby dragon, just like a mother dragon carefully protecting her young. It was hard for outsiders to tell that it was being forced.

Ten people riding on two flying dragons weren't crowded at all. They looked at the drunken little dragon with amusement, which was now snoring loudly.

Once he calmed down, Chen Nan complained to the nine people beside him, "You guys are absolutely despicable! If I hadn't been incredibly lucky, I might have become an immortal along with Little Dragon!"

Guan Hao smiled broadly and said, "We knew you were wise and brave, invincible, calm in the face of danger, composed in the face of change, able to turn misfortune into good fortune, and immortal, destined to become an immortal."

"Get lost! If you keep talking nonsense, I'll kick you off the building, you dead rat!"

Long Wu removed the sword from its sheath, lifted Chen Nan's chin, and teased, "With looks like this, you think you can become an immortal? If that's the case, wouldn't the immortal realm become a gathering place for hooligans and scoundrels?"

Chen Nan brushed aside the longsword and said, "Little Wu, are you trying to tease your brother? There's no need for that. For you, no matter where or when, I'm willing to 'give my all' and 'die for you'!"

Long Wu's face flushed red instantly, and she cursed, "Pah! You shameless scoundrel, you are truly the worst of the worst, a scoundrel among scoundrels, and your skin is so thick that even a giant dragon would break its bones if it crashed into it." She hurriedly pulled her sword back.

"Haha..." Chen Nan laughed loudly.

The people around sighed inwardly that Chen Nan's reputation as a "scoundrel" was indeed well-deserved, as he had actually made Long Wu show a bit of girlish shyness, something that would be hard to imagine under normal circumstances.
