There was no grand temple here, no rivers of milk and honey. Only endless darkness, like a forgotten corner of the world.
A space with no up, no down, no left, no right.
Calling it a "room" was generous. It was more like a graveyard built from chaotic scraps of thought.
Sirin sat cross-legged on a chair with peeling paint. There was nothing here—nothing at all. Even this barely passable "throne" was an illusion she'd kneaded together by forcing a little Herrscher energy through a Herrscher gem.
Longer, smoother purple hair than Kiana's.
Golden eyes once filled with an eternal blaze of wrath—at least, a few years ago.
Now, those eyes mostly held boredom.
Utter boredom.
Sirin. The Second Herrscher. The Herrscher of the Void. Queen of the Honkai. Judge of humanity—
was currently sprawled on her chair, scratching her head without a shred of dignity.
She wasn't free here. She couldn't just conjure whatever she wanted. Sometimes she'd simply black out, and only wake when she got lucky.
So she'd repeat the same lines: I'll get out, I'll take revenge, I'll destroy everything— and then suddenly pass out again.
A loop. A cage. No exit.
And floating directly in front of her was an old CRT television.
The picture cut in and out. Snow. Static. A shriek of interference. The signal was so bad it sounded like nails on glass.
It was garbage—like some ancient radio the Babylon researchers on the Siberian tundra used to listen to opera.
Whenever that idiot Kiana got emotional or got hit, the TV would shake violently and scream with buzzing static. Sirin couldn't not watch.
This body's senses weren't under Sirin's control.
She was stuck like a standing-room passenger, forced to endure this first-person reality show called "Idiot Kiana: The Daily Disaster."
Today, though, was a good day.
For once, the TV wasn't malfunctioning as badly—and the show had something even more absurd.
"Damn it, you brainless amoeba! Can you use your head for once?! Did this moron just trip on flat ground?!"
The screen spun. A close-up of the floor. Then Kiana's stupid yelp of pain.
Sirin rolled her eyes and reclined into a more comfortable half-lying pose.
"Disgusting. How did I end up lodging inside this amoeba?"
"And how is Cecilia's daughter this stupid? She's nothing like her."
She reached out into the empty air—
—and grabbed nothing.
How long had it been since she last got to "breathe" outside?
She couldn't remember. Time didn't exist here. Counting sheep to a hundred million wouldn't change anything.
"I want to go out…"
She muttered softly, her voice echoing through the hollow dark, sounding absurdly lonely.
Even if it was just to eat a real hamburger.
Watching this idiot eat—she couldn't even smell it!
No, wait—she was supposed to destroy the world.
Was this the Queen's待遇? This the "divine apostle" ending?
Damn Otto. Damn Siegfried. Damn humanity.
But fine.
Endure. Be patient. Hold on.
The screen flickered—and sharpened again.
Just in time to show that ridiculous scene outside.
That woman Raiden Mei—another Herrscher-class "peer"—was being treated like a naughty grade-schooler, wrist caught in Bai Qian's grip, getting forced into agreeing to become some… idol?
"Hah?!"
Sirin's golden eyes widened. She sprang up from her chair, bare feet slapping the cold floor.
"Where is your dignity?! Where is your pride as an apostle of a god?! You're submitting to humans—over something this laughable?!"
She stabbed a finger at the screen, shaking with anger even though she had no audience but herself.
"This is humiliating! You're disgracing all Herrschers! If I could get out, I'd carve that arrogant man into pieces—and tear that winged black monster apart!"
Then the camera suddenly swung—
Kiana had turned her head.
And a very punchable man filled the screen, as if he were staring straight at her.
Bai Qian pointed at Kiana's chest.
At Sirin's location.
"Kiana. Next up is the pufferfish inside you."
Sirin froze.
"Puffer… fish?"
She blinked. Her brain stalled.
Pufferfish?
Who's pufferfish?
Who are you calling a pufferfish?
Me?
"There's only me inside Kiana… don't tell me he means me."
Eyes narrowing, she leaned closer to the screen.
The image was muddy—like a VHS tape from last century, covered in grain.
She could only faintly make out the man's smile.
A smile full of bad intentions.
Annoyed, Sirin leaned back and crossed her arms.
"Tch. That idiot's getting scammed again."
She snorted.
"Humans are all liars. Only this amoeba believes in disgusting things like 'friendship' and 'bonds.'"
"When I get a new body and go out, I'll kill that guy first—then break this idiot's legs so she stops running around and embarrassing me."
"And if I'm stuck using her body, I'll beat that Herrscher of Thunder too."
She kept spewing threats, clinging to her collapsing authority out of habit.
But then—
The instant that man's hand grabbed Kiana's wrist—
BZZZT—!
The TV went black.
Then it flashed again, and a red-and-black curtain slammed across the screen.
A grotesque, arrogant interface.
One symbol only:
A huge mocking eye.
"W-What is this—?!"
Sirin jolted upright, startled enough she practically bounced.
Did the trash TV finally die?!
No—
Something else crawled up her spine.
Not a sensation from the body.
Something deeper.
"Who's there?!"
She instinctively tried to draw on the thin Honkai energy around her.
Nothing formed.
This was her territory. Her throne room—even if it was a stupid black box.
Who dared intrude?!
The image began to shake violently—as if some colossal thing was forcing its way in from the other side.
The giant eye bulged, shrank, blinked madly.
And then Sirin saw it.
A scene she would never forget for the rest of her existence—
Two hands appeared on the left and right edges of the screen.
Not human hands.
Enormous hands clad in golden armored gauntlets, clamping down on the TV frame.
"This is a joke," Sirin's voice trembled as her fingers dug into the chair's armrest. "This is my mind! My domain!"
The hands didn't answer.
They simply pulled.
"RIIIIIP—!!!"
The TV tore apart like cloth.
Like paper.
Like a cheap backdrop in a stage play being shredded by brute force.
"Delivery's here—open up, we're checking the water meter!"
"W-What?! So fast?!"
Sirin's eyes went wide as the ripped seam widened—
—and a whole crowd climbed out of the TV like it was a doorway.
And that irritating man stood right at the center, casually looking her up and down.
"Trying to act tough like a pufferfish? I'll make you float."
He waved his hand.
"That's the disgraceful pufferfish with six Herrscher gems. Herrscher of Thunder—go beat her up."
Sirin looked at the purple figure shrinking back in fear and instantly snapped, fury exploding out of her.
"Third Herrscher, you soft tofu stick!! Where did all your Honkai energy and authority go?!"
This time—
She was really about to suffer.
