Chapter —The Mask That Did Not Fall.
Auramaster Luke rush inside the dungeon.
Dungeon Darkness swallowed him the moment he stepped inside.
The dungeon's air pressed against Luke's skin like invisible weight, thick with unstable aura. Even before his feet touched the stone floor, he knew—monster inside the dungeon is awaken and Marin fighting alone.
"Too dense," he murmured.
Luke didn't waste time.
His aura expanded—not explosively, not recklessly—but with precise control. The space around him responded instantly. Cracks spidered along the stone walls as if the dungeon itself recoiled.
Far ahead—
A roar.
And beneath it… a familiar aura signature.
Luke's jaw tightened.
"Marin."
---
Marin
Her vision was blur.
Every breath burned. Her ribs screamed in protest as she tried to stand again, but her legs refused. The monster come closer—its body twisted, malformed, pulsing with corrupted aura.
So this is it… she thought faintly.
She had expected fear.
Instead, what filled her chest was frustration.
I didn't even reach him.
The creature raised its claws to attack Marin but she do not have enough energy to dodge .
Marin closed her eyes in fear.
Then—
The pressure vanished.
The monster froze mid-step, its roar strangled into silence. A force like a mountain pressed down upon it, slamming its body into the stone floor so violently that the dungeon trembled.
Marin's eyes snapped open.
A figure stood between her and the monster.
Tall. Cloaked. Masked.
His presence alone made the dungeon feel… small.
"…Auramaster," she whispered.
---
Luke didn't turn around.
His eyes were fixed on the monster struggling beneath his aura suppression shield.
"You should not enter dugeon alone," he said calmly. "Are you a fool or mad taking such a decision."
Monster who is traped by Luke Aura shield screeched and tried to rise.
Luke raised one hand.
The sound cut off instantly.
With a single motion, he compressed his aura.
The monster collapsed inward—its form destabilizing, dissolving into raw energy before dispersing completely.
Silence followed.
Absolute.
Luke finally turned.
Marin was kneeling against the wall, blood on her shoulder, breathing shallow.
For a fraction of a second—
Just one—
His expression cracked.
"You're injured," he said.
Marin laughed weakly.
Faking her pain replied.
"Really? I hadn't noticed."
Luke walked to her and knelt, careful, deliberate.
Marin who was severly hurt.
"Why?" he asked quietly. "Why you come alone here?"
Marin met his gaze through the mask.
"Because you never come when it's safe," she replied. "Only when it's desperate you come to help and ..."
Luke's hand paused mid-motion.
She continued.
"I wanted to prove something. That I wasn't just a name on a guild card. That I was worth taking this risk."
Luke closed his eyes briefly.
"That was never the condition,You should never came here like this to just force me to come here risking yiur life." he said.
He placed his hand near her shoulder and released a controlled healing pulse. The bleeding slowed. Pain dulled.
Marin gasped softly.
"…You could have told goverment who you are," she said. "Then I wouldn't have needed this."
Luke stood.
"And then what?" he asked. "You'd be protected because of my name? Because of my position?"
He looked down at her.
"I don't save people because they know me. I save them because they don't."
Marin swallowed.
"You're afraid," she said quietly.
Luke didn't deny it.
"I've seen what happens when symbols replace people," he replied. "I won't become one I just to be normal as always with my friend ,with my family."
For a moment, neither spoke.
Then Luke turned away.
"Can you walk?"
Marin tried. Failed.
Luke sighed.
"…Don't misunderstand this."
He stepped forward, slid one arm beneath her knees, the other behind her back—and lifted her effortlessly.
Marin stiffened.
"You—!"
"I have no option," he said simply.
Her face burned.
"…I am sorry for my foolishness," she muttered.
Luke didn't respond.
While Luke taking Marin,
she asked
"Atleast tell me your name?"
Luke replied"Auron."
Marin said "I dont think so this is your real name."
Auron replied"Do you think i will tell you my real name."

Outside the Dungeon
Chaos ruled the clearing.
Red warning lights flashed across armored vehicles. Government officials barked orders into communicators. Rescue teams stood tense but restrained, unable to move past the cordon.
"No one enters!" an official shouted again.
"We're waiting for an authorized guild team!"
Uno clenched his fists, aura leaking unconsciously.
"Our guild member is inside," he argued. "Every second—"
"And every second without clearance risks more casualties," the official snapped back.
Chika stood frozen beside Liod, hands trembling, eyes locked on the sealed dungeon gate.
Marin's parents stood just behind them.
Her mother's lips moved in silent prayer.
Her father stared without blinking, as if afraid that looking away would make the dungeon swallow her forever.
Then—
The air shifted.
Not an explosion.
Not a sound.
Just a sudden pressure—like the world itself holding its breath.
The dungeon gate pulsed.
Gasps rippled through the crowd.
A lone figure stepped out.
Black cloak. Masked face. Calm, overwhelming presence.
Auramaster Auron.
In his arms—Marin.
"MARIN!" Chika screamed, breaking free as tears poured down her face.
Marin's parents ran forward without thinking, collapsing beside her the moment Auron gently lowered her onto the ground. Her mother clutched Marin's hand, sobbing. Her father bowed repeatedly, voice breaking as he thanked Auron again and again.
Medics rushed in, surrounding Marin.
Officials froze—caught between protocol and awe.
Before anyone could step closer, before a single question could be asked—
The wind howled.
Aura surged outward like a silent wave.
Auron straightened.
For a brief moment, his gaze passed over everyone—officials, guild members, parents, soldiers.
Not judgment.
Not pride.
Distance.
Then—
He vanished.
No light.
No sound.
No trace.
Only unsettled air where he had stood.
Silence followed.
Heavy. Absolute.
And then—
"He was here," someone whispered.
Marin was injured but he keeps on looking on Auron vanishing and thinking next time i will get about you more.

Rooftop — Night
The city stretched endlessly below, lights glowing like scattered stars.
Auron stood at the edge of a rooftop, Auramaster's presence stripped away. His illusion remained elsewhere, perfectly placed—still searching, still innocent.
Auron detransform.
Auru floated beside him, arms folded, expression soft but thoughtful.
"You handled it well," she said at last.
Luke didn't respond immediately.
His eyes were fixed on the city below.
"I didn't expect Marin to act so fast," he said quietly.
Auru smiled faintly.
"She's reckless. Stubborn. Willing to risk everything for an answer."
She glanced at him.
"She is like you Luke, Can do anything to reach their goal."
Luke let out a slow breath.
"At least…" he said, voice low, "I didn't reveal anything that could expose me."
He continued"But Marin is the biggest and closest person to me have potential to find my identity.
It's no surprise why I call him my competitor."
He looked down at his hands.
Hands that had saved countless lives.
Hands that could never stay.
"But now," he continued, "she knows more than before."
Not my name.
Not my face.
But my hesitation.
My reason .
Auru nodded.
"Sometimes do not knowing why someone hides is more dangerous than knowing who they are."
Luke closed his eyes briefly.
Below, far away, Marin rested—injured, alive, surrounded by people who loved her.
And above—
Luke remained alone.
Still unseen.
Still unknown.
But no longer untouched.
Somewhere in the city, questions were forming.
Suspicions growing.
Resolve hardening.
The hunt for Auramaster had not ended.
It had only just begun.
