Chapter 139 - Chapter 139: She Was Too Complacent

Tanjirou's reason, clouded by anger, was frozen, and his whole body felt as if it had fallen into an ice cellar.

As the demon blade chopped straight towards Tanjirou's head, all he saw in his eyes were his comrades lying in pools of blood, their fate unknown.

If anger could defeat enemies, there wouldn't be so many tragedies in this world... Just as the blade covered in eyeballs was about to touch Tanjirou's head, Kokushibou felt a prickling sensation on his back, followed immediately by the sound of something cutting through the air.

The perception was slower than the intuitive judgment; this was no ordinary person.

Kokushibou retracted his blade and quickly turned, but just as he was halfway through his turn, a bloodstained, silvery-white blade burst forth from his chest, accompanied by the sound of a sharp weapon piercing a heart.

Kokushibou's movement paused, and he stood stiffly on the spot, his palm grasping the tip of the blade protruding from his chest.

The moment the blade pierced his body, the bloodstains on the blade merged with his own blood... He felt a stirring he hadn't experienced in centuries.

His blood relative... *Swish*... A strong gust of wind swept past him, and scarlet long hair flashed across Kokushibou's vision.

Mizuki snatched Tanjirou away from in front of him, paused for a moment in the arena as if judging something, and finally stopped in front of Uzui Tengen.

In front of Uzui Tengen, three women were weeping uncontrollably, their faces panicked as they wanted to rush forward to provide aid, but they didn't know what to do when looking at his body, which had been cut in half at the waist.

"Lord Tengen!"

"No, the bleeding won't stop!"

"Please, don't die..."

"Move!" Mizuki released Tanjirou, and without time to explain, pushed the three women aside, knelt in front of Uzui Tengen, and moved his lower body back under his torso.

Cold sweat profusely beaded on her forehead. She dared not slacken in the slightest, crossing her fingernails to slash two wrist-length cuts into her own wrists.

As the blood successfully dripped onto the mangled flesh at Uzui Tengen's waist, the blurred flesh repaired itself at a visible speed, and half of the anxiety weighing on Mizuki's heart lifted.

Kokushibou had remained calm until now, showing only a slight fluctuation in expression when Tanjirou used Sun Breathing, but upon witnessing this scene, he was moved once more.

He couldn't help but bend his body slightly forward, stretching his head out, as if trying to clearly see the scene unfolding before him.

A Blood Demon Art that saves people... I have never heard of it... As this incomprehensible phenomenon occurred, the three women's crying abruptly stopped. They looked bewilderedly at Uzui Tengen's rapidly healing body, and then their confusion turned into joy.

Suma, who closely resembled Inosuke, looked at Mizuki and tearfully said, "You must be a god..."

Halfway through her sentence, Mizuki turned her head and snapped, "Stop standing around! Drag the others over here!"

She had already sensed that Uzui Tengen's waist injury was the most severe; although his powerful physique allowed him to barely survive, it was only enough for a couple more breaths.

As for Inosuke and Zenitsu, although their vitality was weak, they shouldn't die in the short term.

As for Nezuko, battles between demons can only end through consumption, and being cut in half at the waist is not necessarily a fatal injury.

"Ah? Oh, oh!!"

Seeing their husband's body rapidly repairing itself, the three women quickly suppressed their panic and ran towards the two people lying collapsed nearby.

Hearing Mizuki's words, Tanjirou also snapped out of his shock.

He first subconsciously looked at Nezuko, who was struggling to put her body back together. He suppressed the urge to go help her and instead followed the three women to lift Inosuke and Zenitsu over to Mizuki.

Staring at the scene of Mizuki healing the three people, Tanjirou suddenly seemed to realize something. He cautiously looked towards Kokushibou, only to be astonished to find that he was merely standing still.

He was just watching them calmly, with no intention of moving forward.

Why?

The flesh around Uzui Tengen's waist was completely healed. Mizuki moved her body to the side and, following the same method, dripped her blood onto Inosuke and Zenitsu.

Both of their sword wounds were similar, sliced from the shoulder down to the waist, with even the bones nearly severed, but fortunately, their vital hearts were fine, so they wouldn't die immediately.

As soon as Mizuki moved away from Uzui Tengen, the three women immediately crowded around him.

"Uh... Am I not dead yet?"

"Lord Tengen!" The three women looked at him, weeping tears of joy, their faces full of worry turning into delight.

"You all..." Uzui Tengen looked at the three women with a face full of guilt.

"Ah!" Suma suddenly cried out in surprise, pointing at Uzui Tengen's severed arm, "His hand hasn't grown back."

She instinctively looked around, searching for the severed arm.

She finally found the severed arm behind her. Suma's face brightened, but a figure stood upright next to the arm. She followed the feet upward.

The six-eyed monster stood there motionless.

Suma shivered all over.

Sorry, Lord Tengen, she can't retrieve your arm.

As if noticing Suma's expression, Kokushibou lowered his gaze, looked at the severed hand by his foot, and expressionlessly kicked it over.

How could you treat Lord Tengen's arm like that!

Suma swallowed the words she wanted to say, stared cautiously at Kokushibou, crawled over quickly, picked up the severed hand, and scurried back.

Uzui Tengen heard Suma's words, subconsciously looked at his arm, and thought to himself.

Isn't that obvious?

How could it grow back after being chopped off?

Wait a minute, wasn't he cut in half?

Supported by the three women, Uzui Tengen sat up slightly and felt his body.

?

He was completely unharmed?

"Miss Mizuki..." Tanjirou's voice suddenly rang out.

Uzui Tengen turned his head to look. Mizuki had arrived sometime earlier and was sitting beside him.

Tanjirou was supporting her with a worried expression.

"You woman, you finally showed up. Any later and you'd be collecting our..." Uzui Tengen first complained, then supported himself to sit up, and paused mid-sentence.

He watched the blood dripping onto Inosuke's skin and saw the mangled flesh recovering at a visible speed.

His first thought was Demonization, but then he immediately realized that only the spots where Mizuki's blood had dripped were recovering.

Is it a Blood Demon Art?

Although a demon's body can self-repair, demon blood absolutely does not have the ability to heal human bodies.

Otherwise, demons would become highly sought after, and many politicians would willingly throw lives away just to capture them.

As her blood continuously flowed away, faint double vision appeared before Mizuki's eyes, and if Tanjirou hadn't been supporting her, she wouldn't have been able to use her legs.

Even with her frequent blood expenditure, she was starting to reach her limit.

Although demons are said to be unkillable and capable of infinite regeneration, in reality, both regeneration and Blood Demon Arts consume stamina, and once stamina is exhausted, they need to consume humans to replenish it.

Mizuki had never consumed a human, so her replenishment couldn't keep up with the consumption.

Fortunately, the injuries of the three people were deep, not extensive.

Once the blood permeated the wounds, the healing was rapid.
