Chapter 154 - ★ 153 (ANTARES'S PAST V)

★153

"During the O-Class, the Supernovas decided that we need a right-hand Star, one worthy of safeguarding our Domains while we reclined in well-earned repose."

"So unfair... and now another terrifying rank, even stronger than the already mighty Hypergods."

I was trembling inside but forced myself to stay still.

Realising you live in a hierarchy ruled by gods isn't something you simply take in stride. Without replying to my cry, she continued.

"The Supreme Star agreed on it and made the Tier official after O Class."

"So you guys chose Hypergods from the Stars roaming within your Domains?"

"Yes. But back then, it was just selections. Now, we have a general requirement. For a Star to awaken at the highest attainable rank, the Hypergod Tier, they must master a considerable number of Mega Arts... perhaps even all of them."

"All of them?"

I asked, shocked, but she casually dismissed it.

"Yeah. And they must have the ability to create or destroy a Hyperworld."

"This..."

"It's weird."

She finished gently.

"Remember when I said that a White Dwarf's awakening to a Supergod Tier is nothing more than a dream yet one that can be made reality?"

She asked.

"Yes."

"Well, for a Supergod, reaching the Hypergod Tier is almost impossible."

She said the weight of this information was heavy. However, there must be a reason behind the insane gap.

"Almost? That's good news. At least there's a fragment of hope in the darkness."

"Exactly. Cool metaphor, by the way."

She winked. I didn't know what that meant, so I ignored it.

"I can't believe a Supergod is currently awakening to a Hypergod right there."

I said, my gaze shifting towards the endless flowers.

"Hold it there."

She snapped, and I turned to check what the problem was.

"There are no Hypergods in Elyvra."

"What?"

"You heard me. There are no Hypergods in Elyvra."

She repeated.

"Why, though? They seem strong and are very useful with...ok. I see."

I broke off mid question, a thought coming to mind.

"You saw what?"

"Why have a Hypergod when you have a bunch of Angels doing the job?"

Right? That must be it. She has Angels, so with or without Hypergods, they can do anything.

"Brilliant. That's exactly the reason why. It's not like I don't need them, but my Supergods are finding it difficult to awaken as a Hypergod."

"As the Goddess of Elyvra, you can give them a hand."

"I can, but I won't."

"Why though? Do you want them to earn it?"

"Exactly. I'm not like the Deity of Sun who forged their own Hypergod. Call it cheating if you will because it is, but no one ever questioned them. And without a doubt, Alter of Pisces remains the strongest Hypergod ever known."

"The Deity of Sun. Aya made mention of that name. Are they a Supernova, too?"

She nodded.

"Call us the Omnis for short. Omni as in omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipotent."

"O...ok. You said Hypergod is the highest attainable rank for a Star. What about you guys?"

"That's correct. The weakest of the Hypergods are those who can interact with only a single Hyperworld, while the strongest extend their control all the way to the Nest."

The scenery shifted from the garden to an exterior view, the vast outside view of this world, I suppose.

"This is what's on the outside?"

I asked, eyes widened at the beautiful landscape.

"No. This is just a visual I created to help you understand."

"O..oh.."

I felt a bit saddened. Everything has been provided, so why aren't we going outside?

"You see that gigantic sphere over there?"

She asked, pointing at the spherical and transparent structure suspended midair.

"That's a Nest."

She added. The world shifted, and the horizon folded inward. What had once been a speck in the vastness now swelled before the eye.

The Nest emerged, Its borders shimmering. The zoom tightened, layers of unseen space peeling away until the interior spilt into view.

Inside were countless. That was the only word the mind could find before it faltered. Forms, too many to number, drifted in an endless ballet, each one a spherical structure suspended in the vast emptiness. The Worlds receded into the distance until distance itself became meaningless... and still, they went on.

A mortal's eyes might call it countless, but the truth, as stated, was infinite, perhaps beyond that.

"These are Hyperworlds."

She said calmly.

"Each one follows its own Law, so they behave differently from one another. Think of them as separate realities, each with its own rules, concepts, and structure. All of that is written into something we call an Order."

She glanced at me to make sure I was following.

"Only an Omni can change an Order. Not even a Hypergod can do that. Their power stops at manipulating whatever Laws and Concepts already exist inside it."

"I understand. I'm only missing the new words."

"Good."

The scene closed in on a Hyperworld, revealing countless spherical structures drifting through the vast expanse of space.

"These are the universes within a Hyperworld. Each universe holds its own planetary systems where Stars can dwell. While it's not unusual for some to live scattered across the universe itself, only Hypergods and the highest-ranking Stars can truly reside there."

The view zoomed in once more, revealing a translucent, spherical structure drifting in the cosmic expanse.

"A Nest?"

I murmured.

"Yes. This Nest is serving as a barrier, protecting what's inside from the Hyperworld's deadly atmosphere."

"There are Superworlds inside?"

I guessed. Since Superworld are considered the smallest, it's okay to it exists within the Hyperworld.

"Nice catch. This alone should highlight the distinction between the two Worlds and their Gods."

"It's clear as day. But don't you think the gap is boundless?"

"Don't you think the gap between Omnis and Hypergods is boundless?"

She hit back, and I couldn't answer.

"Just like the Hyperworld, the Superworld have universes, galaxies, and planets."

The view plunged all the way down to a planet in the Superworld, then whipped back in a blink, we're back at the first scene, where a Nest is stationed on the surface.

"This is where we are. A place Hypergods can only dream of."

"What's it called?"

"A Domain. As you can see a simple topic will end up becoming something complex. Well, we're just getting started."

The scenery dissolved, and in the blink of an eye, we found ourselves back in our original room, seated as before. She ignored the question.

"You're from the O Class too, right?"

"I am. But I'm not a Star. I am the Goddess of Life. I found this place amusing so I decided to stay."

"Where do you come from?"

"Form another Reality. It's a long story, so don't bother."

(reality ≠ Reality.)

"Okay. How were the last three Omnis chosen? Since a Star can't reach the Omni Tier, they must be chosen by someone. Maybe the Supreme Star."

"So, six Omnis and six Drops?"

She burst into laughter again, the sound echoing through the chamber.

It wasn't mockery, it was almost fond, as though she were watching a child stumble into truths far too large for him.

I blinked at her, unsure whether I had said something clever or completely foolish. I waited, heat creeping into my cheeks.

Her laughter softened into a warm smile.

"You think in patterns already."

She said gently.

"That's very… you. It's almost like you have the old King's spirit in you."

"Nope. Only four Omnis have certain Domains. I have Elyvra. The Deity of Sun has Solaria, the biggest Domain ever. The God of Judgement has Voltara, and the Curse Lord has Morke Helvade.

With all these multiple civilisations, we haven't taken approximately 10% of the Pond we know of."

"Using the metaphor 'a needle in a haystack' is so undermining."

I sighed, unable to grasp the size of the Pond.

"You may say that I drove all the way here for nothing, but you're wrong. This explanation is needed for your final question."

She said, as if my mind was an open book.

"And what's that?"

I asked, feigning ignorance. I know my last answer but I'd like her to give it a guess.

"You ask me."

"Ok, you got me."

I raised both hands in surrender. I want to know it more then my test.

"What Constellation do I belong to?"

I finally asked.

"At last."

She giggles.
