THIRD POV
MATCH 99
The next participants, Majo and Sailor, stepped forward. Sailor chose an azure suit that mirrored his elemental affinity, his short black hair and matching eyes sharp against the vibrant colour.
Majo, in contrast, donned a sleek black short-sleeve suit, her hair tied neatly into a bun, leaving no room for distraction, her entire presence focused and unyielding.
Despite facing a Deamon Lord, Sailor wasn't nervous.
"I'll play using your element."
Majo announced. Ever since the tournament, Majo has been using normal elemental magic. Using her demonic magic might anger her lord, so she refrained from using them.
"Hmm—what should I say? Thank you?"
He asked, settling into a battle stance.
"Begin."
For a moment, nothing happened. Tension hung in the air. A drop of sweat traced down his temple—then Sailor struck, launching a flurry of razor-sharp water blades.
Feet away from her, she twisted the incoming water blades, reshaping them into jagged spikes and flinging them back at Sailor. A massive wave rose to meet them, swallowing the spikes and surging toward Majo. She hesitated for a heartbeat, then lifted herself into the air.
"Tricky."
She murmured.
"Thanks."
Fluid hands reached to grasp her shoulder.
"Bad boy."
Her finger flicked, corrupting the water midair and sending it snapping back. The stage became a swirling maelstrom of black and blue fluids. Sailor stood atop the waves, finger aimed at Majo, who glanced around casually, ignoring the imminent danger.
"Is that supposed to be an attack?"
The clouds above thickened, rain drumming down, and lightning cleaved the sky toward her. To his shock, she blocked it with a single palm.
"I'm not done yet."
The suspended droplets quivered, charged with latent energy.
"Volt Drop. Explode!"
Lightning leapt between every droplet, electrifying the entire arena in a searing storm.
"Hmm—I was expecting a dual-elemental mage."
Asteri commented dryly.
Majo, writhing in apparent agony, suddenly shifted into a demonic giggle, the sound twisting and chilling the air around her. It's over.
"Oh my, that tickles. Lightning and water, what a combo."
His gaze was entirely focused on her as he failed to notice the colorless water was pitch black and spikes surrounding him waiting to strike.
Sailor closed his eyes, and with a smile on his face, he raised his two hands.
"I'm out of magicule anyway. I surrender."
The water slowly evaporated, and Majo descended standing by his side.
"You did good."
She said before disappearing.
"Hmm, I think having the demons participate was a bad idea. I can't see anyone defeating Majo or Scarlet King."
"Don't underestimate humans, Ati chan."
"You think a human can defeat a demon? Even though they're refraining from using their powers, I doubt anyone will win."
"Wait for the announcement, at least."
Shinn murmured, looking at the participants leaving the arena.
"Majo wins. Next, competitors approach the arena."
Ban announced.
