Chapter 155 - The Shadow Beast Are Mine

In a dim room, a round-table meeting of the Mafia Dons was underway.

When major incidents occurred, the Mafia Dons would gather here.

But at this moment, one seat was already empty. Nine people sat together, plotting how to wipe out Pablo Escobar.

"Many people outside are already starting to have second thoughts."

"If we don't do something soon, our prestige will truly be swept away!"

The Mafia Dons were all there, each offering their own opinions.

But no matter what they said or whose opinion it was, it all boiled down to one thing: "Kill that bastard from the Salvatore Malas Mafia Family completely!"

Pablo Escobar's recent actions have caused them considerable distress, and they have genuinely inflicted losses on these nine men.

Not only in terms of manpower and resources, but also in the reputation of the Ten Mafia Dons.

Damn it, nine big shots united couldn't defeat a newcomer who just inherited their uncle's legacy?!

If that got out, how would they ever show their faces again?!

What would their peers think?!

What would their underlings think?!

What would those ordinary people think?!

Were they still supposed to be the so-called emperors of the underworld?!

Don't joke, people would laugh until their teeth fell out!

Therefore, the remaining nine Mafia Dons were all holding back their anger, their bodies overflowing with bloodlust.

That bloodlust was directed at Pablo Escobar.

"No matter what, he absolutely cannot live in this world anymore!"

Finally, one of the Mafia Dons declared decisively.

"And the longer he lives, the more disadvantageous it becomes for us!"

Yes, this newcomer, who has been giving them a fierce attitude, they can't even kill him, and he's continuing to attack them.

If they don't deal with him quickly, both their subordinates and the outside world will look at them with prejudice!

Therefore, they must crush Pablo Escobar!

And they needed to do it with overwhelming force, an act of massacre that would demonstrate the iron-blooded style of the Ten Mafia Dons.

Letting the whole world see their cruel and ruthless side once again.

Their authority cannot be desecrated or touched casually!

However, saying it is one thing, doing it is another major problem.

Their men are no match for Pablo Escobar's men.

They don't know where that brat got so many fearless madmen.

That frenzied and manic behavior made even these seasoned veterans of the underworld, the Ten Mafia Dons, take him quite seriously.

In a direct confrontation of raw power, they were no match for their opponent.

So that meant only…

"Two approaches."

They discussed for a long time, until one Don made the final proposal: "Sending the Shadow Beasts... or assassination."

Deploying the Shadow Beasts meant using the most powerful force directly under the Ten Mafia Dons.

There was nothing the Shadow Beasts couldn't handle; this had always been their confidence.

As long as the Shadow Beasts existed, they remained unshaken.

Even though one of the Shadow Beasts, the one called Gorilla, who belonged to Pablo Escobar Malas, had gone missing, likely killed in an earlier confrontation.

But that was because only one Shadow Beast had been sent. That was bound to fail.

In the opinion of the Dons present, if they dispatched all the Shadow Beasts, there would be no problem they couldn't solve.

In the past, they had encountered situations far more dangerous than this.

And every time, sending the Shadow Beasts resolved it.

So there was no need to worry.

As for assassination, that was something used when the Shadow Beasts couldn't act openly, or as a final, critical measure.

As the rulers of the underworld, the Mafia Dons naturally had connections to countless underground organizations, including top assassin families.

Especially the legendary world-number-one assassin family: The Zoldyck Family.

Each Don held the contact information of the current and former head of that family.

If necessary, the Zoldyck Family could be hired to deal with problems.

However, the price was extremely high.

Without a massive payout, they would not make a move.

Therefore…

"Let's use the Shadow Beasts first."

One Don suggested, "At least they are our own people. Whatever happens, we can control the outcome."

The others all agreed with this.

So they quietly began gathering the Shadow Beasts, preparing to eliminate Pablo Escobar and the mafia in Ambrossa with one decisive strike.

However, their plans eventually reached someone very well-informed: Chrollo Lucilfer.

The deputy captain of the Phantom Troupe gave a casual remark: "Shadow Beasts? How do they select them? If they all die, I wonder how they'll replenish the ranks."

"And also..."

He paused thoughtfully.

"I wonder what kind of Nen abilities these Shadow Beasts possess."

"Hopefully, they won't disappoint me..."

Yes, to Chrollo, the Shadow Beasts were merely a reserve collection of Nen abilities.

As for their strength…

"How many are there?"

Feitan, hands in pockets, asked quietly at Chrollo's side.

Chrollo didn't even need to respond; Feitan was already preparing for combat.

"I remember there were ten."

Franklin said. "But one was killed by Uvogin. So there should be nine left."

Feitan flicked his fingernail lightly.

"I wonder if their bodies can withstand... Tempering."

Clearly, the tempering he spoke of was not pleasant.

"Just don't kill them too fast."

Pakunoda said lazily.

Feitan shot her a dead-fish stare.

If not for her presence, he would have already taken someone apart by now.

Her memory-reading Nen ability was extremely powerful and extremely useful.

Even Feitan admitted that.

So he simply replied: "The Shadow Beast are mine."

No one objected.

Pakunoda didn't like fighting, Franklin didn't care, and Machi only cared about money.

Shalnark seemed eager but could wait for another opportunity.

Feitan sharpened the umbrella-blade weapon he had acquired recently.

Ambrossa was a capital city, a major metropolis.

And before, it had been one of the Ten Mafia Dons' headquarters.

On the surface, they even operated a legitimate multinational trade business through a building called the United Trade Tower.

Which meant there were many valuable items stored within.

The umbrella-blade Feitan got was something he especially liked.

Chrollo had taken a cross pendant and blue crystal earrings.

Even Machi and Pakunoda took several treasures.

With these in hand, killing the Shadow Beasts and the Don behind them would be even more enjoyable.

Thus, the final year of the 1980s came to a close amidst restless turbulence.

The world above looked peaceful, but in the underworld, waves were surging.

Conflicts among the Salvatore Malas Mafia family and the Ten Mafia Dons were already influencing various corners of the world.
