Chapter 55 - PE Durandal - 55

Come to think of it, Durandal felt she was doing a pretty good job as the leader.

Last gathering was a seafood buffet, and this time it was hotpot.

Anyway, it was better than everyone sitting together in a conference room slurping noodles.

"I've come up with a name for our Flame-Chasers organization. Let's all mull it over and see if it fits."

Durandal looked at everyone and said solemnly, "The organization will be called—Schicksal."

Schicksal?

At the mention of the name, everyone was taken aback.

Schicksal, its meaning being the will of heaven's way, with the extended implication that heaven's way dictates the fate of all life.

In this world, whether there truly was a heavenly order was debatable, but there was certainly the Honkai.

So, by naming the organization Schicksal, was Durandal intending to wrest control over the fate of all living beings from the Honkai?

It had to be said, Durandal's ambition truly exceeded most people's imagination. Even Elysia's eyes now sparkled with a brilliant light.

As for the professional, Eden was the first to applaud.

"Schicksal, what a name! Compared to a name like Fire Moth, which carries a passive connotation from the very beginning, the grandeur and majesty of Schicksal will undoubtedly be the best image packaging for our organization!"

From an advertiser's perspective, the best name was often the first intuitive feeling it evoked.

If a name could make people's eyes light up from the start and display its unique character, then the difficulty of further packaging would be reduced, and it would also aid in spreading the word.

Durandal watched everyone's stunned expressions and couldn't help but scratch her head.

She really hadn't thought that deeply about it...

Mainly, she planned to adopt Schicksal's organizational structure, and if that was the case, then the organization's name naturally couldn't be left out either.

However, Durandal didn't explain further.

Instead, she continued, "I don't intend to completely abandon the term 'Flame-Chasers' from the original provisional name either."

"In the future, the Schicksal organization will be organized into several combat teams, research teams, and logistics teams. The captain of each team will be a Flame-Chaser."

"For now, on the combat side, there's only the First Combat Team with me as captain and the Second Combat Team with Elysia as captain."

"Current team members include Kevin, Ato, Emile, and Sakura. Emile and Sakura are with me, while Kevin and Ato are with Elysia.

"Additionally, there are currently two research teams as well. The captain of Research Team One is Vill-V, and the captain of Research Team Two is Mobius. The team rankings are based on the order they joined the Flame-Chasers organization and carry no hierarchy."

When mentioning the combat teams, Durandal didn't deliberately explain, but now she went out of her way to add a brief explanation, which made Elysia's eyes curve into happy crescents.

She thought to herself, 'This must be tacit understanding and trust.'

Durandal also noticed Elysia's good mood at the moment.

She assumed Elysia was happy that the Flame-Chasers Organization—oh right, now it should be called the Schicksal Organization—was getting on track.

Feeling even more motivated, she went on, "Vill-V's First Research Team currently has no additional members, while the Second Research Team under Mobius includes Klein, Fuxi, Nuwa, and Blanca.

"My personal suggestion is that Fuxi and Nuwa could temporarily assist Vill-V in the First Research Team. However, everything depends on your personal choices and desires. My suggestion is only for reference."

Actually, the reason Durandal made this suggestion was because she knew that Fuxi and Nuwa wouldn't last long under Mobius.

Their philosophies didn't align, and they were bound to part ways sooner or later.

Durandal had no intention of correcting Mobius's unique moral perspective.

If the path she chose in the future proved unworkable, then the Schicksal organization would have one more option.

Moreover, judging from Fuxi and Nuwa's performance in assisting Fu Hua after waking from a 50,000-year slumber, they were actually more suited for Vill-V's mechanical application approach in research rather than Mobius's biological application and theoretical route.

"Finally, there are the logistics teams. The First Logistics Team will be led by Connie, primarily responsible for the Schicksal organization's internal daily affairs and external negotiations."

"The Second Logistics Team will be led by Eden, mainly handling the management and operation of the industries under the Schicksal organization."

"Team members will also be recruited by yourselves."

"Additionally, due to her age, Griseo will temporarily serve as a reserve member. In the future, whichever team she wishes to join will be entirely according to her personal wishes."

After outlining the general structure of the Schicksal organization, Durandal added, "Regarding what I've just said, if anyone has any opinions or suggestions, you can raise them now, or come to me privately after we return to the temporary office, or submit a written report."

"I'll compile everyone's feedback by tomorrow morning and hold a short meeting at noon to finalize everything."

Durandal was inherently impulsive, but years of experience had tempered her, preventing her from being too rash and making avoidable mistakes.

That didn't mean she became hesitant or indecisive when making decisions.

As for that kind of atmosphere—the kind where a single decision required repeated meetings and prolonged deliberation—she absolutely would not let it become prevalent within the Schicksal organization.

This is how it would be from now on: if she had an idea, she'd call a meeting, announce it, give everyone a day to provide feedback, then hold another meeting the next day to finalize it.

It would never drag on to a third day.

In fact, even this pace felt somewhat inefficient to Durandal.

However, Durandal wouldn't skip the step of listening to others' suggestions and feedback just for the sake of efficiency.

After all, she didn't want the Schicksal organization to become her own echo chamber. She had no desire to be a tyrant sitting high above in the clouds.

Even so, the Schicksal organization's decision-making efficiency was already leaps and bounds faster compared to the neighboring Fire Moth.

Regardless of what others thought, at least Mobius, this senior member from Fire Moth, was the first to agree.

"Putting everything else aside, reducing the number of meetings is something I wholeheartedly support."

Those who shared Mobius's view were naturally the currently very busy Connie, Eden, and Vill-V, as well as the members under the research teams.

As for the combat personnel under the combat teams, they remained neutral.

After all, they weren't particularly busy at the moment, so whether it was meetings or other tasks, it was all pretty much the same.

After Mobius, Durandal waited a moment. Seeing that everyone seemed more focused on the hotpot in front of them, she made a move to sit down.

Unexpectedly, Elysia spoke up.

"I actually have a small suggestion. It's not directly related to what Durandal just said, but I personally think it's quite important."

"Go ahead."

Durandal wasn't sure what kind of scheme Elysia was cooking up.

But with so many people present, whatever she said probably wouldn't be too outrageous, right?
