Chapter 72 - Chapter 72 – How to Catch Your Wife… Again

How to Catch Your Wife… Again

The evening had been overwhelmingly romantic, and Amber and Dan found themselves waking up together – not in the family bed that the main bedroom of the suite offered, but on the extra-large chaise in the main living area of the suite. They lay entangled with each other, Amber on top, hers and Dan's legs wrapping around each other. The chaise itself was huge and plush, and they sank into it.

Amber stirred first, and as she moved, Dan's grip tightened around her like a child trying to ensure his favorite toy did not escape. She smiled and relaxed her body – remembrances of the night before gently floating through her mind. She kissed his arm that crossed close to her face. He kissed the top of her head in response and sighed like a petulant child who didn't want to do a given task.

Amber giggled. "We have work to do."

Dan sighed again but said nothing. He released his grip, and Amber rose and kissed him softly on the lips. He answered her by opening his mouth slightly and allowing the tip of his tongue to dance on her soft, full lips. She smiled and leaned in and kissed him fuller.

When she finally pulled away, they both moaned in disappointment. They rose as one and – when they noticed that they were going to the same restroom – paused and looked at each other for a long moment. Finally, Amber smiled and pulled him to the bathroom.

After a long, and rather interesting shower, they emerged as new people – as a new couple, actually. Amber smiled softly, and Dan had a serious expression on his face. Amber couldn't believe that her marriage actually felt safe and secure. Dan was attentive, supportive, and loving in a way she never knew him to be. This was what she had always wanted, and all of her defenses had crumbled as she let him in fully.

On the other hand, Dan was worried. He had gotten his wife back, and now his mind was on how to keep her, how to help her gain her successes, and how to truly provide for her. He wanted to fully be her husband, and he never wanted to take her for granted again.

Amber's small gasp woke him from his thoughts. He looked to her – getting lost in the sight of her in the day's chosen bikini for a bit longer than needed – and then followed her line of sight. He nodded in understanding. The hotel had delivered breakfast. It floated on the suite's private infinity pool: a long, wide, sturdy tray of bamboo covered in fine white dishes with fine blue designs. He sighed. "Time for work."

The equipment was out in an instant, and Amber instantly transformed into an online influencer. Dan smiled at the idea of his wife helping him in his endeavors.

With the camera on her, Amber twirled around and began speaking. "After an amazingly romantic night with my husband, the hotel serves breakfast like this." Her hand swept out towards the floating breakfast, the camera smoothly following the motion and zooming in on the food. The camera came back to Amber, and she smiled as she turned and entered the pool to retrieve their meal. "And this is just the beginning. Dan has planned a snorkeling excursion for us. There are several that you can try, but since I am a type of bio-nerd, he is taking us to one showing us how they are replenishing the seagrass in their area to ensure the health of the waters here."

She smiled into the camera as she brought the huge tray toward the pool's edge. "That seems exciting for me, but maybe you would enjoy one of the many other snorkeling excursions the resorts offer." She raised a hand and placed it palm forward. "Click here to see a list of what the resort offers." She looked to Dan and pouted in an exaggerated way. "Come on, Dan, I'm starving."

Amber winked, and Dan ended the video with another pan over the food on the tray. He looked up to her with a smile. "You truly are a natural at this, love. That was a great idea to have a clickable link to the resort's excursions." He leaned down and kissed her. He pulled back and looked to her with a smile. "You deserve another surprise this afternoon."

She smiled at him and cocked her head. She popped a honeyed fig into her mouth and regarded him for a long while. "I do love your surprises."

He smiled and kissed her again, the flavors of honey, fig, and Amber flooding his senses. He wanted to always ensure she was happy and felt wanted and worthy.

During breakfast, Amber did a short video about the crockery used by the resort – noting that it was actually made by a local artisan she was interested in. "This is another selling point for me. This resort ensures the environment is stable, and it employs local artists and artisans, and even buys locally to ensure that the local economy is sustained. These are small things done quietly and unconsciously and show the true intent of this business."

She finished the video and looked up to Dan smiling at her. "What?"

He smiled into her eyes and leaned over and kissed her. "Thank you for always supporting me. I am so sorry for taking you for granted for so long."

Amber sat in shocked silence for a long while. Tears welled up in her eyes, and then she threw her arms around his neck and cried and spoke into his neck. "You actually see me now. You truly notice."

Now it was Dan's turn to sit in shock. He wrapped his arms around her, and they sat in silence for a long time. It was Amber who broke the silence. She giggled. "Time to stop being babies and get to work. I want to plant some seagrass!"

She moved to leave and get ready, but Dan grabbed her and drew her back into him. He kissed her forehead gently. "You seeing yourself finally being loved and seen is not being a baby. I am sorry for being a pitiful husband." He kissed the tip of her nose. "I promise to do better."

Amber smiled and sighed. "You already are doing better. Now come on – give me the vacation of my dreams."

Dan smiled as he watched her enter their suite to get their gear. She had no idea how much he wanted both of these reviews to be more than work for her. His thoughts paused as an idea formulated in his mind. It was time that he finally told the world about his re-commitment to Amber Ann. He grabbed his phone and began texting his group with David and Cristina.

Group Text:

Dan: "I want to renew my vows with Amber. Can we do this and make it a surprise for her?"

Cristina: "It is about time you came to your senses 👍🏻 finally a good idea 💪"

David: "Very good idea. Cristina, where should we have it?"

Cristina: "I don't know. I am not sure how to keep it secret from Amber either."

David: "🤷‍♂️ That's easy. If there is a resort near, it can be a review."

Dan: "Brilliant! Let's start brainstorming. Amber and I are going snorkeling."

Cristina: "I am glad you made it, Dan. I'll start thinking and doing some research."

A private text came in from David:

David: "What about we tell Amber this is for a wedding? I am going to ask Cristina to marry me."

Dan: "It's about time! But I don't want to take away from yours and Cristina's day."

David: "I am going to ask her tonight. Maybe we can make it seem like she is helping me set up the scene to actually ask Cristina marry me."

Dan: "Maybe🤔. Either way... Congratulations!"

Amber returned with their bags and smiled at Dan. "What are you smiling about?"

He cleared his throat and straightened up. He rolled his eyes in resignation. "Don't say anything, but David is thinking about asking Cristina to marry him. He asked if I would go help him find a ring when we get back. I was just telling him it was about time."

He had already come to her and took her into a strong embrace. She was bubbling with excitement. "Dang right it's about time! I am so happy for Cristina!"

Dan smiled. "So am I."
