Felix had never thought his life would change so suddenly.
Only a day earlier, he had been hopping from island to island, haggling, thieving, and doing whatever it took to stay alive.
But now? Now he was flying at the head of an assault force.
Above him flew three blazing figures: Eterna, Flama, Diva. Their fiery wings painted the sky in crimson and gold.
Eterna flew at the center, her phoenix flames calm and controlled.
Flama darted playfully from side to side, leaving trails of fire behind her.
Diva followed slightly behind, her smaller wings flapping with determination.
Felix rode atop his peacock mount, gripping the reins tightly as the wind brushed past his face.
"This still feels like a dream…" he murmured in a barely audible voice.
Yet Flama heard it. She tilted her head mid-flight and looked down at him.
"Brother Felix," she called sweetly, "Are you somehow scared?"
"Ahem!" Felix coughed awkwardly.
"I- I'm not scared." he said boldly.
