The constructions went on for the whole night. Everyone participated however they could, barely taking any sleep or rest.
The Fire Slime, Pyro, also lent a hand in melting the Iron Ores to craft them into specific shapes according to Aegis's instructions, proving his worth almost immediately.
By the next day morning, fully functional defenses were established, fortifying the Sea God's Palace. They managed to create 7 Water Jet Crossbows and 3 Tidal Barriers across the most important strategic places.
The Palace was about 5,000 sq. meters in size, so obviously these defenses were not enough to cover every corner. Nevertheless, Aegis believed they had done more than most other Sky Lords.
"Papa, I'm hungry... I want delicious meat," said Flama, clutching her little stomach.
Aegis was in a dilemma. How would he find meat in this hour?
Just then, Naida joined in, saying, "Flama, you can have all the meat you want once the Sky Predators are defeated. And trust me, their meat is very delicious."
"Really? Then I can't wait..." Flama said, her eyes shining with sudden anticipation.
Aegis checked the time.
[ Time Until Next Wave: 7 hours 13 minutes 12 seconds ]
They had finished their preparation early. He still had some time to spare
.
He checked the Global Chatbox to see what others were doing. He wasn't doing this to seek entertainment, but he was searching for his parents. Though they weren't the best parents out there, they were still his parents. They had done their best to provide for him. So it was only natural for him to be worried.
But deep down, he also understood that the chance of their survival was very low. He was mentally prepared for the worst.
[EternalWarrior]: I have done everything I could. My iron wall is 3 meters high. If I die, It's Aegis' fault! Good luck, everyone!
[Firestarter]: What a weird guy!
[DesertFox]: I traded my last tool for a single Defense Scroll. I hope it's enough. May the Sea God protect us all.
[xX_GamerDad_Xx]: My wife and daughter are safe now. Thank you for everyone's help. We can face this now.
[Survival_Mother]: Goodbye, world. Tell my sons I loved them.
[Admin_01]: May this day be remembered in our heart. We are survivors!
Reading through those heartbreaking messages, Aegis felt nothing. He was not their hero. His responsibility lay just within his own people. He maintained his focus.
He finally typed the message:
[Aegis]: Hello! I am looking for two people. If anyone can find these two, I shall make them my Follower. [Names]
As soon as Aegis's message, attached with his parents' names, was sent to the global chatbox, it caused a small stir among the people who were practically his fans.
[DesertFox]: Holy! Lord Aegis is recruiting more followers! A chance to join the Great Lord's Domain! Everyone, search for those people!
[ThreeBeautifulPrincesses]: We will find them, darling! Just promise to take us as your followers too!
[EternalWarrior]: Tsk. Now he uses his influence to recruit! This is exactly what I warned everyone about! He is greedy and selfish.
[Firestarter]: If I see them, I'll immediately mention you, Lord Aegis.
[Survival_Mom]: @Aegis If I find them, please promise me some clean water for my children. That's all I ask.
[Holy_Emperor]: They are with me, Aegis. Currently serving as my Slaves. Come and get them if you can.
[DesertFox] Who the hell are you? You're clearly ragebaiting.
[Holy_Emperor]: I Don't Talk To Plebeians.
Aegis narrowed his eyes.
This [Holy_Emperor] guy was seemingly getting on his nerves. Not only was he threatening to turn his parents into slaves, but he was broadcasting his arrogance globally. But unfortunately, Aegis could do nothing at the moment.
Just then, Flama leaned on his lap, startling him.
Her face frowned as she read the messages. Unsurprisingly, the Phoenix descendants could understand the system messages just fine.
"Do you want me to teach this bad guy a lesson, Papa?" she asked, her Phoenix mark glowing with otherworldly energy.
Aegis gently caressed her crimson hair. "Thank you, Flama. But you can't do anything from here. He is on a different island."
Flama smiled mischievously and said, "I have Karmic Flame, Papa. Watch me."
She closed her eyes, and the Phoenix mark on her forehead shook violently.
Then, a sliver of brilliantgolden-white flame detached itself from her forehead and vanished into the holographic projection of the Chatbox.
[ Warning! Your Follower Flama has deployed the Divine Skill: Karmic Flame. ]
[ Target: Sky Lord Holy_Emperor ]
[ Effect: Initiating direct spiritual damage and temporary system disruption to target. ]
The Global Chatbox immediately descended into a spectacular digital meltdown.
[Holy_Emperor] AAHHHHH! WHAT IS THIS FIRE?! MY MIND! MY SOUL! (User is temporarily disconnected)
[DesertFox]:What just happened?! Did Aegis just attack him through the chat?!
[ThreeBeautifulPrincesses]: Darling Is so terryfying! But we like it.
[EternalWarrior]: Holy Emperor just went offline! I knew this Aegis is a monster!
[DessertFox]: @EternalWarrior Maybe you should stop trash talking now.
[EternalWarrior]: •_• Fuck Off!
Flama opened her eyes, beaming up at Aegis. "Did I do well, Papa?"
Aegis was internally stunned but kept his face calm. He had just witnessed a child launch a non-physical long-range attack that disabled a Sky Lord.
Something impossible even for him to do.
He praised her giving her a gentle squeeze:
"You did very well, Flama. But we must focus. That power needs to be saved for the Sky Predators."
The time ticked down, eac second like forever.
It was afternoon time when they arrived.

SCREEECH! SKREEE!
With terrifying screeches erupting from the Upper Sky, they made their entrance.
Dark obsidian scales, Massive Wings, Devilish Built. They partly looked like Orcs Aegis had seen in many games, but they possessed enormous, leathery wings. Their oily dark skin and terrifying devilish faces made them truly horrific. It was as if they were some kind of Hellish lifeforms hungry for ages.
He counted them with a glance and made a rough calculation of 20 Creatures, and more were still coming, descending in a dark, ominous wave.
The Battle was definitely not going to be as easy as he initially thought.
