The match to determine third and fourth place took place first between Team D and Team B.
In a way, it was a poetic matchup: Freed finally got to share the stage with Laxus, even if they were opponents.
The final result was a victory for Team D, with Raizel securing the win for his team. Team D officially took Third Place.
After Raizel and Laxus both left the stage, only the contestants from the two remaining teams were left on the hexagonal platform: Team F vs. Team E.
"Everyone! The first-ever Fairy Tail Card-Flipping Competition Finals are about to... begin! COOL!"
Jason, standing beside the hexagonal platform, looked toward Makarov and Ur seated at the commentary booth.
"Do either of you have anything to say?"
Makarov spoke first. "To be honest, before the competition started, I never expected this outcome. I initially had high hopes for the teams with Raizel and Laxus. But with Erza's exceptional performance today, the match should still be very exciting."
Ur expressed her impartial support. "Mirajane is also very strong, and Wendy has performed quite well. Let's cheer for both sides!"
"So, what does Raizel have to say?" Jason noticed that Raizel had returned to the booth with a microphone.
Raizel didn't expect Jason to call on him again.
After a moment of hesitation, he said, "Uh... Victory and defeat are common in competition. We'll definitely do better next time. For now, let's focus on the match."
The giant Magic Lacrima screen above began replaying the outstanding performances of the team members.
"Contestant Erza, lightning-fast speed and astonishing concentration! Her card is truly the Ace!"
"Elfman, immense strength! The Finisher! A natural instinct for card flipping!"
"Mirajane, the Dark Horse with an intimidating presence!"
"The Miraculous Wendy!"
'Who wrote these captions... they're so cringe...'
Raizel looked at the bold, enlarged text on the crystal screen and thought the director was wasted not working in variety shows.
"The atmosphere on the field is incredibly tense! There can only be one winning team!"
Round 1: Macao vs. Elfman
"Round One! Macao from Team F versus Elfman from Team E! Contestant Macao attacks first!"
"You can feel Macao's tension just by looking at his face."
Raizel noticed Macao slightly bowing his head, staring intently at the card on the ground while exhaling repeatedly to calm his nerves.
"Dad! Go for it!"
Romeo's cheers reached Macao's ears from the stands.
Macao pointed a finger at Romeo, smiled, and slammed his card down forcefully.
SMACK!
A crisp slapping sound echoed through the venue via the microphone.
Macao rubbed his head regretfully. "Such a pity, a regrettable failure."
The opportunity now went to Elfman.
Without hesitation, Elfman shouted "MAN!" and slammed his card down hard.
"Yet another unstoppable, powerful attack unique to Elfman!"
Macao's card lifted at one corner but failed to flip over completely.
"Macao—"
"Macao—"
The audience chanted Macao's name rapidly, and as the match progressed, the cheering grew more fervent for the underdog.
This time, Macao wasn't as nervous.
After a brief gesture, he slammed his card down hard.
FLIP!
"Success!!! 1:0!"
The audience supporting Team F stood up, raising their support items high.
"Elfman has great strength, but his accuracy is slightly lacking."
Round 2: Macao vs. Gray
"Now it's the second match! The replacement is Contestant Gray! And once again, Contestant Macao takes the initiative!"
"Yah!!!"
Macao clenched his fists and roared with all his might, growing more courageous with each battle.
SMACK! FLIP!
Gray was completely stunned. He hadn't even touched the card and had lost again... and to Macao at that...
This was hard to process.
Jason was absolutely ecstatic. "Macao's Miracle isn't over yet! And it won't end! On the finals stage, he's breaking through like a hot knife through butter, already securing two consecutive wins!"
Even Raizel was shaking his head in disbelief, mouth agape. "Wow, I can't believe something like this happened."
Round 3: Macao vs. Erza
"Next up to take the stage is another Super Ace who just had consecutive wins—Erza!!!"
"It seems only Erza can stop Contestant Macao's overwhelming momentum!"
"Now the initiative shifts to Contestant Erza!"
Erza didn't say a word.
After walking a few steps around the card to gauge it, she slapped it down heavily.
"What's happening! Contestant Macao's card didn't move at all!"
If it weren't for the pre-match inspection of the cards, Raizel would have suspected Macao's card was glued to the floor.
"Contestant Macao is...! He's also using the same stance Contestant Erza used against Contestant Raizel!"
At this moment, Macao was also on one knee, his left elbow resting on his thigh, constantly measuring and adjusting before slapping down at the right moment.
Raizel quickly commented, "Still couldn't flip it! A tug-of-war where neither side gives an inch!"
Erza tried again but failed.
"Erza might have used too much force this time—her own card flew several circles in the air."
"Will Contestant Macao create another miracle and go for a 3:0?"
"Ah... still failed!"
"Erza's expression is more serious now than ever before!"
With Erza's clean and decisive move, Macao's card was finally flipped over.
"Ah!!! Reversal! Reversal!" The live audience went wild, shouting madly.
"Beautiful! MANNN!" Gray and Elfman cheered loudly from the sidelines.
"Erza launches a beautiful counterattack in pursuit."
Round 4: Erza vs. Wendy
"The second contestant to take the stage for Team F is Contestant Wendy!"
Wendy stepped forward with her card, her expression quite relaxed as she continuously greeted everyone around with a smile.
"Contestant Erza takes the initiative! Failed! It seems she might be a bit tired from overperforming since the preliminaries started."
Wendy slapped down with all her strength, but Erza's card only lifted slightly at one corner.
"Unfortunately, Wendy couldn't seize the opportunity."
Wendy didn't dare to look at the result, turning around to hug Mirajane's waist for comfort.
"Ah... Contestant Erza also failed!"
Hearing the result, Wendy breathed a sigh of relief and turned back around.
"This time it's correct! The card is spinning!"
"Ah! The card spun twice in the air..."
"Contestant Erza fails again, seems like her strength was a bit off!"
Wendy and Erza went through another round of back-and-forth misses.
FLIP!
"It flipped over! Contestant Wendy! She defeated the Ace Contestant, Erza!"
Perhaps because she was facing Wendy, Erza couldn't muster her fighting spirit, or maybe luck just wasn't on her side.
She clearly didn't go easy, but she just couldn't flip it over.
Round 5: Wendy vs. Evergreen
The only remaining player for Team E, Evergreen, had lost to Wendy in Rock-Paper-Scissors and was instantly K.O.'d by Wendy's overwhelming momentum in a single round.
The victorious players immediately embraced and began spinning in a circle.
Celebratory cannons fired all around as ribbons and confetti filled the air.
Raizel made the concluding announcement:
"We have a winner! The championship belongs to Team F with Contestant Wendy!"
"The first Fairy Tail Pogs Tournament! The overall Champion is Team F!"
"Today's spotlight belongs to Wendy Marvell!"
"Let's give a warm round of applause!"
