Chapter 186 - Chapter 186: Mirajane VS Aria

"How truly tragic... Today I shall witness the death of the Demon Mira... Sob, sob."

After blocking Mirajane's magic, Aria wiped his tears with his hand, though his tone carried a distinct hint of crocodile tears.

"Invisible magic, quite troublesome," Mirajane, in her Full-Body Take Over: Satan Soul form, frowned as she watched Aria swallow another of her Dark Spark attacks.

This scene had repeated many times, as her magic seemed to dissipate the moment it reached Aria's vicinity.

"My Airspace magic can instantly nullify an opponent's spells, so you cannot harm me, Demon Mira," Aria declared, opening his arms.

"Airspace: Zetsu!"

A barrage of powerful, invisible shock bullets surged toward Mirajane.

'Not bad, as expected of the strongest of the Four Elements,' Mirajane thought as she dodged the invisible shock bullets with agile movements, her expression serious as she glanced at the multiple craters blasted into the wall behind her by the unseen attack.

"There is always someone stronger than you, Demon Mira."

"Evil Explosion!"

Mirajane had no patience for retorts, so she concentrated a massive amount of Magic Power in her palms and unleashed an overwhelming dark shockwave toward Aria.

'Is he vanished?'

Mirajane frowned, watching as Aria disappeared just before the blast could hit him.

"It's over, Demon Mira," Aria declared, intending to use Airspace: Zero from behind to drain Mirajane's Magic Power completely.

However, as Aria appeared behind her and prepared to cast his spell, Mirajane swiftly swung her tail, interrupting his casting.

She followed up with a vicious kick to Aria's abdomen, closing the distance as he was sent flying backward, and pressing her hands together against Aria's body, she unleashed her attack at point-blank range.

"Soul Extinction!"

A torrent of brutal Magical Power erupted from Mirajane's palms, striking Aria squarely.

Aria's body was sent flying uncontrollably before crashing heavily into the far wall, creating a deep crater in the masonry.

Mirajane clutched her chest, gasping for breath, for Aria's draining spell had affected her a little after all, absorbing some of her Magical Power, but her quick reaction with her tail had mitigated the damage.

Aria's green magic robe was in tatters, yet he stood up with a persistent, unnerving smile.

"So this is it, Mirajane Strauss. You truly live up to the name Demon, for I had always assumed you were merely hyped up by others."

"In that case, even I must bring out some real skill," Aria announced, and as he spoke, he unwound the bandages that had always covered his eyes and slowly opened them.

Mirajane frowned slightly, narrowing her eyes at Aria's bizarre gaze; the pupils were red, quickly transforming into a red circle composed of four sectors forming a hollow cross at the center.

As Aria's eyes changed, the Magical Power radiating from his entire body surged continuously, shaking the room.

Mirajane tensed, watching Aria intently. "So the rumors are true, that you usually keep your eyes closed to suppress your excessively powerful Magic Power."

...

Outside the Mobile Castle—

Meanwhile, the Guild members battling the Phantom Lord Mages and Phantom Soldiers all looked up at the bright light emitted by the Abyss Break magic circle hovering in the sky.

"What happened? Why has the speed of Abyss Break suddenly accelerated so much???"

"Strange, didn't we already defeat three of them? Why is it still speeding up?"

Aria's unsealed magic power alone was now compensating for the absence of the other three Element 4 members, causing the magic circle of Abyss Break to form at an increasingly rapid pace.

...

Inside the Castle—

"Come at me, Demon Mira."

"Death's Airspace: Zero, activate! This airspace can devour all life, hahahaha!"

Massive amounts of wind-attribute magical power swirled around Aria, causing his tattered magic robe to flutter without any wind and even affecting Mirajane standing not far away, her hair whipping in the magical current.

Soon after, his magic power filled the entire room with a suffocating pressure.

Gray and Elfman arrived just at that moment while.

"Nee-san!"

"Mira!"

"Don't come in!" Mirajane heard their voices but didn't turn around, and with her back to them, she raised her right hand to signal them to stay out of the danger zone.

"Magic that devours life?" Mirajane's expression darkened as she glared fiercely at Aria.

The mere act of recklessly taking lives was something she couldn't tolerate, especially with Elfman right behind her.

With a powerful beat of her wings, Mirajane shot rapidly toward Aria.

"Can you withstand this airspace?" Aria stood confidently in place, watching Mirajane's approach, convinced she would be blocked and drained by the death airspace.

However, Mirajane's claws, imbued with intense dark magical power, successively slashed through the Death's Airspace, tearing it apart.

"Impossible! She actually cut through the airspace!" Aria's pupils contracted sharply, completely unable to believe what he was seeing.

"Wait..."

Before Aria could finish speaking, Mirajane's dual claws flashed past in a rapid blur—he hadn't even been able to track her movement!

After a pained scream, Aria collapsed heavily to the ground, defeated.

...

Outside—

The magic circle of Abyss Break emitted a blinding bright light before rapidly contracting and disappearing, while the red glow in the Magic Giant's eyes began to fade completely.

"The light disappeared!" Cana clenched her fists and shouted. "We did it, Abyss Break has vanished!"

Macao added excitedly, "That means all of the Element 4 have been defeated!"

...

Mirajane looked at the fallen Aria and stated coldly, "Don't even think about taking Elfman's life."

"So fast! So ruthless..."

Even Gray felt somewhat afraid watching Mirajane in this state.

"Mira is still dangerous, good thing I never provoke her," Gray muttered to himself while wiping cold sweat from his forehead.

"It's safe now, come in," Mirajane said, releasing her Full-Body Take Over.

Her expression completely changed; turning around, she smiled with her usual squinted eyes, beckoning Gray and Elfman to enter.

"Now only Jose remains, right?" Gray asked, as they could all feel that the threat of the spell had dissipated.

"I don't have much magic power left either," Mirajane said after assessing her remaining energy.

"He's in that main hall—Raizel's is battling Jose."

Mirajane pointed toward the tightly closed large door up the staircase, but just then, the door was shattered by a magical blast, allowing Mirajane's group of three to witness Raizel engaged in combat with Jose.

"He seems fine, Raizel doesn't appear injured," Gray observed the two standing opposed to each other, noting that Raizel showed no signs of weakness.

In contrast, Jose's magic robe was somewhat torn and his tied hair had come loose, leaving him completely disheveled.

"I don't need help, you should go down or help Natsu deal with Gajeel!" Raizel shouted, also noticing the three people outside while dodging Jose's Dark Spheres.

"But..." Elfman started, still wanting to say they could help.

"What a terrifying magic power... Just facing him makes me nauseous," Mirajane covered her mouth as she watched the dark magical power emanating from Jose's entire body.

Even when she used Full-Body Take Over with Satan Soul, the dark magic power throughout her body wasn't this overwhelming; this was a difference in both quality and quantity of magic power.

Though reluctant to admit it, Mirajane felt that in terms of raw strength, Jose truly deserved the title of one of the Ten Wizard Saints.
