It was nice to have a subtle reminder that the universe was unpredictable, and yet predictable. It seemed to favor apes, or humans, as Terrence claimed, but other than that, the infinite nature of the universe would leave anyone feeling small, and useless. Cosmic Nihilism at its finest example.
Jimmy was more surprised by the fact that humans were not rare at all. He couldn't help wondering how humans came to be on the planet he was on, it was hard to predict it.
If Anna was here, she'd say that other species of lower apes shouldn't start existing yet, not to mention a a few million years ago, and he was aware of that, but yet this world was entirely unpredictable, so assuming that lower species of apes hadn't been massacred by either humans, or dinosaurs, the odds of humans evolving very early into the timeline was very likely.
