Jimmy stopped being as productive after that horrid battle with the scorpions. He climbed higher up into the rocky mountain, just so he could avoid any potential big bugs who might be crossing the same path he had initially explored. It was best to stay out of mother nature's way, because she didn't care for feelings.
It was best to sit put, and wait for Anna. It was going to take her more than an hour to come back here and get him, and with the sun setting, he could not risk crossing paths with bugs that he couldn't even see, or hear, come to think of it, so it was best to stay absolutely still.
