The hours went away fast. It was already past mid-day, and with the average day in the Jurassic Era being twenty-three hours long, on this hot summer day, the team had less than five hours to find any survivors, and bring them back home.
The nights in the grasslands were brutal, so if they got stuck here at nightfall, they'd be in more trouble than they could handle. Even with Gutaxun here to protect them, they'd still be putting their lives at risk.
Nightfall was just a few hours away, because even after they killed the giants, the team spent a solid three hours looking for survivors. They did not make any progress.
Other than that, they were already running into trouble due to the day-time predators who roamed the lands. A hungry, giant predator was always troublesome to deal with, but even the small predators were becoming a hassle, as they were nibbling on Gutaxun's feet, mistaking him as a wounded dinosaur.
