Feriha and Eric followed the faint trail Selene had left in the abandoned building.
Every step echoed ominously, and the walls seemed to close in around them.
"Stay close," Feriha whispered, gripping Eric's arm. 😐
Eric nodded, his flashlight scanning every corner. "I won't let anything happen to you."
They reached a room where the floor was littered with broken glass and overturned furniture.
The girl with the blue ribbon's muffled sobs echoed from somewhere inside.
Feriha's heart pounded. "She's here," she whispered. 💠
Suddenly, the door slammed shut behind them. The room plunged into darkness.
Selene's voice hissed through hidden speakers:
"Welcome, Feriha. You found her. But can you save her before it's too late?"
A series of metal cages descended from the ceiling. Each one contained mechanisms designed to trap anyone who touched them.
Eric immediately stepped in front of Feriha. "Stay behind me!" ⬅
Feriha's hands trembled, but she forced herself to focus. Using the faint light, she noticed one cage mechanism slightly damaged; an opportunity.
"We can do this," she said firmly. "We have to."
Eric's eyes met hers. "We always do. Together." 👁👁
Together. The word echoed in her mind as she took a step forward.
The girl with the blue ribbon cried louder, and Feriha's determination sharpened.
Selene's laughter echoed through the walls. "This is only the beginning, my dear. Only the beginning." 😂
