A Star Falls from the Heavens
Luo Li's radiance like a god's descended filled the world.
Raiden Makoto said nothing.
She simply leaned her head against his shoulder, quietly savoring a rare moment of peace.
Even atop the abyss, surrounded by monstrous hordes, she had never felt a deeper, more indescribable sense of fulfillment.
No affairs of state.
No burden of Inazuma.
No pressing crises.
Just him
And a moment that belonged solely to them.
"Just now, it was your battlefield," Luo Li murmured.
"Now… let's switch to mine."
Slowly, calmly, he lifted into the air.
The monsters below howled up at him
But Luo Li only raised one hand.
In the next heartbeat
A torrent of Honkai energy surged skyward, forming a beam so brilliant it seemed to pierce the heavens themselves.
A colossal barrier erupted outward, centered on Luo Li, expanding until it enveloped a hundred-kilometer radius.
Golden sigils branching like divine roots spread across the earth, creating a perfect seal.
Within moments
The monsters collapsed as though their life force had been ripped away.
In mere seconds, they toppled over like dying crops, piling atop one another in heaps.
Flying beasts fared even worse
Falling from such heights, many were pulverized the instant they struck the ground, crushing their own kin beneath them.
From the earth, countless chains of golden light surged upward, binding the remaining giants in place.
Several spatial rifts sealed shut entirely.
Makoto stared again at the man she thought she understood.
This man…
How much had he been hiding from her all along?
Once they returned, she would make him explain everything.
But Luo Li, unaware of her internal resolve, felt something else
Six separate buildups of overwhelming elemental power, each gathered a great distance beyond the barrier.
"So they're in position.
Then I should begin as well."
Luo Li ascended to the apex of the barrier and unleashed the core of the Herrscher of Flames.
Herrscher abilities differed wildly some overturned physics, others rewrote natural law but in pure destructive force, none surpassed the Flames.
Its power was that of a collapsing star.
A supernova compressed into human form.
The sky brightened
As if a second sun had ignited above the abyss.
The radiance was impossible to look at directly.
Even with Luo Li shielding her, Makoto could feel the biting heat licking at her skin.
"This power…" she whispered.
"With this… it may truly succeed."
At that moment, in her eyes, Luo Li appeared more divine more godlike than any of the Archons she had known.
Outside the barrier
The six gods watched the blazing "second sun" expand toward its peak.
Shock rippled silently through them
One man had single-handedly shackled the entire Abyss.
But there was no time to dwell on that.
The Seven's combined strength was ready.
The air around them warped from the violent clash of elements even before they met.
Morax drew a long breath.
"Old friend… should you return safely, the finest seat in Yujing Terrace will always be reserved for you."
He prayed that the companion he'd known for millennia would survive the disaster.
Standing at the center of the Seven's combined assault meant facing the worst of the elemental storm.
Even his own body would not endure such chaos unscathed.
Barbatos, uncharacteristically sober, sighed.
Had he possessed the ability, he would have taken Luo Li's place without hesitation.
The other gods said nothing—
But the resolve in their eyes was unmistakable.
They too would willingly bear such a burden for their people…
If they only had the strength.
The six elements Pyro, Hydro, Cryo, Anemo, Dendro, Geo—rose in six directions.
Even before they touched, the air crackled and roared, bursting with volatile reactions.
"Almost there…"
The artificial sun swelled to breaking
And then began its descent.
In that same instant, the six gods unleashed their ultimate techniques.
Falling stars.
Raging tornados.
Frozen mountain peaks.
Roaring infernos.
A cataclysmic pillar of mixed elemental force surged toward the barrier.
The moment the combined powers neared the Restraint Field—
Luo Li released the Authority.
The bindings fell away.
The sun dropped.
The monsters, unable to recover in time, could only watch doom descend.
Heat so immense that even before the blow landed—
the earth melted.
The air vaporized.
Creatures burst into flame from the inside out.
A star's death—
Granting them a final, terrible glimpse of heaven.
So close.
So bright.
So unforgiving.
The ground turned crystalline like fragile glass—
Then shattered into molten shards.
At last—
The Seven's elemental storm collided with the falling sun.
The explosion exceeded light—
A wave of annihilation swallowed everything.
Space itself collapsed.
Abyssal rifts shrieked and imploded.
White consumed the world—
Sight vanished.
Sound vanished.
All sensation vanished.
For a moment, existence stood still.
Even the gods—two hundred kilometers away—were flung back like leaves, slamming through mountains and ridges.
Horror filled them.
The continent beneath their feet was breaking.
Foundations snapped.
The landmass buckled and collapsed—
Khaenri'ah plunging downward, swallowed by the rising underground sea.
Soon nothing would remain but ruins drowned beneath the depths.
But none of that mattered to the Archons.
Their thoughts were only on one thing:
Were Luo Li and Raiden Makoto alive?
The storm raged still—
A violent tide of radiation, energy, and elemental fury.
Even Morax did not dare step inside.
All they could do—
Was wait.
And pray.
