Even as the ultimate manifestation of physical law,
Luo Li could not maintain a black hole indefinitely.
But he didn't need to.
The destructive gravity tore apart spatial rifts, collapsing every path the Abyssal beasts attempted to use.
The monster hordes near the center were sucked in, crushed into particles.
Within seconds, the black hole grew to several kilometers wide,
affecting an area spanning dozens of kilometers.
The battlefield's pressure eased dramatically.
Makoto, wholly unable to participate at this level, simply leaned against Luo Li's back as the blades of Subspace spears carved apart anything that drew near.
To onlookers, it resembled a one-sided massacre.
Yet while Luo Li held his ground the other Archons were struggling.
Morax and Barbatos barely maintained control.
The other four Archons fared far worse.
Luo Li could spare no attention.
Activating the Conquest Gem, he shaped electromagnetic fields around himself—
an absolute defense against physical and elemental attacks—
and fired arcs of lightning compressed by gravity, leaping through the swarms like chain reactions.
The earth cracked.
Abyssal constructs shattered.
Stars dimmed beside the glow of the black hole.
Death itself via the authority of the Herrscher of Death reaped monsters ceaselessly.
Yet Luo Li frowned.
"At this rate, destroying Khaenri'ah in a short time is… unlikely."
The moment he finished speaking
the fake sky split.
The Sustainer of Heavenly Principles moved again.
Black-red diamonds manifestations of spatial annihilation—rained down in sheets.
Anything they touched life or matter vanished without trace.
A great red serpent of destruction swept across Khaenri'ah
firestorms igniting the dying nation.
Land collapsed.
Streets split.
Screams filled the air as citizens fell into chasms or burned alive.
Infants.
Children.
Adults.
It made no difference.
The Sustainer's face remained emotionless.
She pressed forward, determined to bury Khaenri'ah forever.
Luo Li, lacking personal hatred, avoided entering the city proper.
He focused solely on killing monsters.
Makoto, peaceful by nature, could never have brought herself to this
were it not for Celestia's decree, she would never have joined such a slaughter.
She trembled softly.
"So many innocent… To watch them die like this it's unbearable…"
"If it weren't for me, you'd be dead in minutes," Luo Li replied lightly.
"When this is over, remember to reward me."
Normally, Makoto would roll her eyes.
Instead, she looked at him gently.
"All right. When we return… I'll grant you one wish."
Luo Li blinked.
She… actually agreed?
Before he could think further,
the Sustainer completed her purge and ascended into the sky.
For a moment…
she looked at Luo Li.
A stare longer than expected.
Then she turned and vanished into Celestia.
Luo Li didn't notice.
But something else caught his attention.
Through the burning ruins,
two figures golden-haired siblings fled desperately.
"Aether and Lumine? The Traveler twins… what are the odds?"
The twins spread their wings and shot upward, trying to escape this doomed world.
"Running now? Too late. The Sustainer won't let you leave."
Sure enough
a damaged Nail of Cold Sky dropped from above,
blasting into the land beyond.
The twins must have been intercepted.
Luo Li was amused until a massive shadow burst from the collapsing earth.
A black dragon with jagged spines took to the air,
vanishing into the horizon with a single beat of its wings.
Luo Li froze.
"Dvalin?
No… the corrupted dragon
Durin."
The dragon Rhinedottir created.
A tragic creature.
Born yearning for sun and companionship…
yet cursed to bring only poison and calamity.
