Chapter 192 - Chapter 192: The Immortal Jason

After taking an arrow, the hockey-masked hulk didn't seem angry. Instead, he released Whitney and retreated alone into the darkness.

"I'll go after him! You guys, be careful!" Without hesitation, Bella ran while nocking another arrow and aiming. Though she deliberately held back her speed, to the others she still vanished into the night like the wind.

"Is she... some kind of athlete?" the Black guy stammered.

"I'll help her!" Barbara told Heather and Sam to stay in the villa, chambered a round, and took off in pursuit.

Heather didn't know Sam well, and she knew the villa occupants even less. She grabbed her chainsaw and followed Barbara, disappearing into the night.

Sam: "..."

He stood frozen for two seconds, then grabbed a wooden club from a nearby rack and moved to help as well.

"I know where he lives! That bastard will definitely go back there! I can show you the way!" The girl named Whitney also chased after Sam.

"What are they doing? Am I hallucinating?" The Black guy's jaw dropped, his face full of confusion.

"Don't worry about them. Probably just hallucinations. Look, there are stars in the sky..." The Korean guy was currently glassy-eyed, lying on the sofa in pure bliss. The Black guy was in a similar state. (You know what I mean—I won't elaborate.) What super killer? What beautiful archer athlete? All hallucinations!

Shooting arrows while running was a technical challenge, but Bella closed the distance with her speed.

The forest at night was eerily quiet—only the sound of her footsteps and the whistle of arrows breaking the air.

Thwack, thwack, thwack! She drew the bowstring, arrows flying like meteors. The hockey-masked hulk seemed quite wary of her. Even in the familiar environment of the woods, he silently counterattacked.

Instead of retreating, he advanced, using the machete in his hand to hack left and right, relying on brute strength to forcibly cut down three arrows.

Through his mask, he glanced at Bella's quiver. Only two arrows were left.

You think I only know archery? Lady, I just started learning this recently!

She showed no panic at all. Her feet planted firmly, movements composed, she drew her bow and nocked an arrow once more.

She shot again. The hockey-masked hulk was now less than fifteen feet away.

Bang, bang, bang! Barbara arrived just in time, raising her gun for three shots.

One hit the abdomen, two struck the chest.

The hockey-masked hulk's constitution far exceeded normal humans, but he wasn't bulletproof. Barbara's marksmanship was excellent. Even with low visibility at night, that stark white mask helped her aim accurately.

The hulk was injured—badly. He stumbled and turned to flee. Heather gritted her teeth, fired up the chainsaw, and with a deafening buzz, brought it down on his calf!

The spray of blood and flesh made even Bella feel a bit queasy. She retreated several steps. Too brutal. Heather's future boyfriend better not cheat. The price of infidelity is way too high...

With the screech of tearing flesh, the hulk's calf was cut two-thirds through. Finally, Bella pulled out her last arrow, drew the bowstring to full draw, and headshot him. The arrow entered through the back of his skull and punched through the hockey mask. The hulk's momentum carried him forward two more steps before he crashed to the ground.

Sam, who'd arrived club in hand, stood frozen in the distance. Countless thoughts flashed through his mind. This brutal super killer... you guys killed him? You're even more brutal than he is!

He glanced cautiously at the chainsaw in Heather's hands. The way she looked, she seemed ready to go saw him some more.

"Is that guy dead?" Sam's neighbor's daughter asked.

Bella remained silent, because in her perception, this guy's form of existence was somewhere between life and death. He seemed dead, but also somehow still alive.

"How is this guy still running after taking three bullets?" Barbara was puzzled.

"Jason Voorhees! His name is Jason Voorhees! He lives on the other side of Crystal Lake! Oh, God!"

Whitney had been imprisoned by Jason for two weeks and knew some details. But as she spoke, she covered her mouth, her expression filling with terror.

Bella and the others turned around simultaneously to find blood traces and arrows on the ground, but the two-hundred-plus-pound hulk had vanished right under their noses.

Sam suddenly understood. As a member of the Winchester family, he'd been exposed to many ghosts and spirits. He now had a rough idea of what they were dealing with.

"That guy probably isn't dead yet. We should keep looking." His tone was certain.

The rescued girl Whitney offered a suggestion. "Maybe he went back to his lair? Should we check over there?"

"Alright!" Bella also wanted to completely finish this guy off. The group searched while heading toward the other side of the lake.

Meanwhile, the country villa they'd briefly visited was receiving a new guest.

The Black and Korean guys were still lost in their dreamlike state. A thick-backed machete suddenly appeared in the air. With one stroke, it severed the Black guy's head. His head rolled across the carpet more than three feet.

Blood sprayed like a fountain in all directions. The Korean man had no idea of the danger he was in, staring with a dopey expression. The next moment, the machete descended from above, cleaving him in two.

After killing two people, Jason's body became somewhat more solid. The wounds on his body were slowly healing. Without a moment's hesitation, he gripped his blade and slowly ascended the stairs.

The rich kid upstairs was still having fun with his girlfriend. Neither had any idea of the massacre below. The woman was moaning while holding a handheld camcorder, filming their battle. They really knew how to party.

"So good! So good!" The rich kid lay flat on his back, eyes closed, hips thrusting in the fight. In his daze, he noticed a chill draft seeping through the door. Then he felt something round in his arms. Opening his eyes, he found it was the woman's head! The neck's cross-section was perfectly clean. Her face still held that incredulous confusion, as if wondering why everything was spinning.

Warm blood splattered across the rich kid's head and face. He wiped his face, and only then did he notice an extra person in the room. The hockey-masked Jason raised his machete.

"Ahhhhh—!"

...

"There doesn't seem to be anything here." After searching Jason's lair, Bella and the others found nothing but broken junk. Nothing of value.

Sam, however, was extremely focused, leaving no corner unchecked.

"What's he looking for?" Barbara didn't understand what her prospective boyfriend was doing.

Bella understood. He was probably looking for whatever was keeping Jason immortal, right? Hunters always believed every supernatural event had a solution. That wasn't wrong, but in all things, there were always a few exceptions to the rules.

Pretending not to know, she slowly shook her head.
