Chapter 47 - Chapter 47 Heart Rain, Heart Knot (Part 1)

After comforting Navia, the afternoon tea time Yuto had scheduled with Furina soon arrived.

He carried a small cake to Furina's door as usual, gently knocked, and asked,

"Furina? May I come in?"

"Hm? You're here? Come in quickly."

After receiving Furina's permission, Yuto gently pushed the door open. Seeing Furina sitting in a chair with her legs crossed, Yuto felt a bit... strange for a moment.

"That's odd... I didn't do anything to upset her today, did I? No... when have I ever done such a thing?"

"Then why does she look so puffed up today, like a little inflated pufferfish..."

Yuto thought carefully, and it seemed... there was nothing out of the ordinary?

They had only met once this morning, so why was the atmosphere so strange now?

Yuto was completely puzzled.

Furina, on the other hand, glanced at Yuto. Seeing him still standing there, she sighed slightly and asked softly,

"How is Navia? Is she feeling better?"

"Eh?"

Yuto blinked in surprise, seemingly not expecting Furina to ask such a question, but he still honestly replied,

"She's been too tense, and she needs some emotional release, more or less."

"If she truly lacked such a broad perspective... I'm afraid she'd come to my office to argue every now and then..."

Yuto shrugged helplessly, then placed the small cake in front of Furina and sat across from her.

He didn't ask Furina how she knew about it, because it was somewhat... meaningless.

Although Furina wasn't the Water God in the true sense, as long as she held that position, Fontaine had many of her informants who could provide her with information.

—Moreover, this happened right under her nose; it would be strange if she didn't know.

Watching Yuto settle down, Furina nodded slightly, then continued to ask,

"Do you also think that what happened back then... was a bit peculiar?"

"Hm? What do you mean by... 'also'?"

"After that duel ended, I asked Neuvillette, and what he said was similar to yours."

With that, Furina slowly leaned back in her chair, her eyes slightly narrowed, and said somewhat languidly,

"Back then, both you and he refused to make a public statement, didn't you? What exactly did you perceive?"

Hearing Furina's words, Yuto's mind raced. He remained silent for a while before continuing,

"Palais Mermonia once wanted to give Mr. Cares the title of Earl, but he refused."

"With his help, Bai Song Town was indeed very well managed. He deserves this title, and that's where I find the problem."

"I don't believe a Father with a daughter, a compassionate and commanding guild master, would do such a thing."

Hearing Yuto's deduction, Furina nodded gently, not refuting. Instead, she slowly scooped a piece of the small cake into her mouth, savoring the craftsmanship Yuto only displayed for her.

"Never mind, I'm not interested in these matters. All I want to see is a sufficiently exciting Judgment, nothing more."

Furina shrugged lightly, a smile appearing on her face.

"However... if the case from three years ago could be overturned... that would also be quite a good drama."

After saying this, Furina paused slightly, then asked,

"But speaking of which... do you really believe The Prophecy?"

"Of course, I believe it, because the most crucial factor has already appeared before you and me, hasn't it?"

"Then do you think... The Prophecy will come true? Will I... cry alone on the divine throne?"

Hearing this, Yuto was slightly taken aback. He then took a small sip of black tea and continued,

"Furina, I won't let that day come. Never."

Yuto's words left Furina momentarily speechless. After a while, she laughed as if performing, saying,

"Hahahaha, of course, as a God... I already have corresponding solutions. This is not some unbreakable curse for me."

Hearing this, Yuto nodded gently, acknowledging Furina's statement.

Of course, she had a solution, but this solution was passive, not active.

However, whether active or passive... it wasn't important to Yuto at this moment.

What was important was to spend more time with Furina, so that she wouldn't completely break down due to the public's doubts.

Eighteen hundred thousand acts of drama were nearing their end, and Furina's mental threshold was also approaching its limit.

He really was a bit... too reluctant to see Furina fall into such a state of bewilderment and helplessness.

As they thought about this, the two fell into silence.

One silently drank black tea, while the other silently ate her small cake, until the afternoon tea time ended.

As time passed little by little, Yuto also ended his rare leisure time. After bidding farewell to Furina, he returned to his office.

Furina, on the other hand, watched Yuto's disappearing back at the door, lowered her head slightly, and whispered,

"Won't let The Prophecy happen... huh?"

"Yuto... how much more do you know that I don't...?"

...

After briefly tidying up his office, Yuto wrote a report based on the memories in his mind, then carefully put it into his drawer.

His current position didn't allow him to act so freely, so... he had to find a reason.

And now, the best reason he had was "the Assistant Administrator's pursuit of illegal drugs."

Whether from his personal identity or his own emotional stance... no matter how it was interpreted, he was the side of justice.

As the Assistant Administrator to the God of Justice, everything he did... naturally had to be in line with justice.

Thinking of this, Yuto gently shook his head, gently stroked Little Sanhua's head, and then went to Neuvillette's office.

He symbolically knocked on the door, then pushed it open and entered.

Seeing the tall figure still standing by the floor-to-ceiling window, Yuto couldn't help but sigh, then asked,

"Neuvillette, are you... alright?"

It seemed Neuvillette heard Yuto's words. He slightly turned his head, looked at Yuto standing at the door, and then slowly came to his senses, saying softly,

"Hm... I'm fine."

Looking at the calm expression that was identical to every other moment before, Yuto sighed once again.

"Still unable to understand the source of those 'resonances'?"
