Chapter 24 - Chapter 24 Yuto, ethnicity unknown

Everyone looked at Mr. Yuto, whose expression was as usual, and for a moment, they were a little confused.

Paimon circled Mr. Yuto up and down, as if she wanted to know if the Mr. Yuto in front of her was the real Mr. Yuto.

Seeing this, Mr. Yuto smiled and shook his head, then said to Paimon, "Don't worry, it's the real deal, Fontaine Vice-Minister, Yuto."

Hearing Mr. Yuto's self-identification, Paimon almost didn't shoot straight to the roof of the Opera Epiclese.

"Yuto?! You, you, you, you... why are you here?"

In response, Mr. Yuto could only shake his head helplessly, then shifted his gaze to the other three people present.

"Mr. Lyney, as the Deputy Administrator of Fontaine... I should not participate in the Judgment, or rather... according to normal procedure, I should not be here right now."

"So, I am not the Deputy Administrator of Fontaine right now, but everyone's... friend, Yuto."

Lyney's expression remained somewhat wary upon hearing this.

He had heard about this Assistant Administrator's methods from Arlecchino, who had returned unexpectedly early, and this gave him a new perspective on Mr. Yuto's attitude.

"Mr. Yuto, since you are my friend... what do you plan to do? Or what is your purpose in coming here? To demand an explanation?"

"Oh no, no, no, demanding an explanation is Neuvillette's job, not mine, and besides... I don't think Mr. Lyney needs to be 'demanded an explanation from'."

Mr. Yuto shrugged, then looked at Lumine and Paimon in front of him and continued:

"If you don't trust me... that's fine, because my identity is clear, but if you, Traveler, want to investigate information related to the 'Serial Disappearance of Young Girls'... just come to me."

"In Fontaine, apart from Neuvillette and the Miss Navia who was affected... probably no one knows more about the 'Serial Disappearance of Young Girls' than me, and probably no one wants to catch that guy more than me..."

At this point, Mr. Yuto's emotions seemed a little dejected, but he quickly returned to normal.

He looked at the people in front of him and said with a smile, "If you're interested, you're welcome to find me at Palais Mermonia. I won't disturb you any further. I'll take my leave first."

After saying that, Mr. Yuto unhurriedly left the Opera House, leaving the four of them in disarray.

Lumine looked at the gradually receding figure, seemingly lost in thought, wondering what she was thinking.

"The Miss Navia who was affected...? This Chief Justice seems to know many secrets, and these... seem to be able to be further investigated...?"

Before Lumine could continue thinking, Lyney's voice interrupted her thoughts.

"Thanks to you for being willing to be my 'Licensed Agent', Lumine, thank you very much. I can only rely on you now."

And Lynette also echoed at this moment, "We're counting on you."

"Leave it to me."

After the four of them reached an agreement, Paimon poured out all her doubts like spilling beans from a bamboo tube.

"Since we're investigating... where was Lynette when you, Lyney, were performing?"

"Also, who is that 'Miss Navia who was affected' that Mr. Yuto just mentioned? Is she also related to this matter?"

Lyney stroked his chin, seemingly in deep thought, and after a long silence, he replied:

"Ah, this... this involves the core secret of magic..."

Before Lyney could even finish the last word of his sentence, Lynette, standing beside him, said, "The secret of magic can't be kept anymore, Lyney."

Lynette's words made him feel as if he had just woken up from a dream. Lyney nodded distractedly, then mumbled softly:

"That's true, with such a big incident, the magic tricks will definitely be used as evidence in the Judgment..."

"Sigh... what a pity. For a magician, a magic performance is a creation, and we put in so much effort."

"However, if this secret can help you find the truth of the incident, then it's worth it."

"As for the 'Miss Navia who was affected' you just mentioned... perhaps she's related, or perhaps not."

"But Mr. Yuto has already said so much... he's probably certain that you'll meet her, right?"

At this point, Lyney's lips curved into a mysterious smile.

"I can't quite guess Mr. Yuto's thoughts, but... I'm sure he has his reasons for not telling you, so don't worry too much about that."

"Going back to the magic performance, if we are to explain that magic, we may need to leave here. We'll have to communicate with the security team. You two go investigate the stage and the audience seats first."

Lumine and Paimon nodded lightly, then turned and left to investigate the matter.

...

Mr. Yuto had returned to Palais Mermonia. He sat in his office, as usual, reviewing various documents.

Although the rumors about Furina and Lyney were rampant outside, he didn't care much about them.

For him, the current outcome... was certain.

"But then again, how much popularity did I get from those two scenes just now?"

Mr. Yuto thought this as he put down his quill. With a thought, a panel appeared before him.

[Name: Yuto]

[Race: Unknown]

[Vision: Electro]

[Identity: Highest Assistant Administrator of Fontaine]

[Current Popularity: 4500]

[Note: The value obtained from the current deferred popularity settlement is: 30000]

Seeing this string of numbers, Mr. Yuto couldn't help but blink, for a moment not daring to believe whether what was in front of him was real or fake.

"Huh? Is it that high? But I can't get it now, even if there's so much in front of me... it doesn't seem to matter."

"Those two scenes just now brought me three thousand popularity, which is not bad at all."

"Besides, even if I got these things, they don't seem to be of much use to me."

Thinking of this, Mr. Yuto couldn't help but sigh.

"I'll just have to wait and see how much I can appear in the upcoming main quests... This is directly related to my income."

"As for Miss Navia... never mind, I'll appear when she and the Traveler come to find Neuvillette, acting as a mediator."

Thinking of this, Mr. Yuto nodded lightly and continued to look at the documents in front of him.
