Chapter 51 - Bonus Chapter 1 – Ten Years Later

The city skyline was bathed in the soft glow of dawn, a familiar mix of gold and amber reflecting off the glass towers. Lucy Kane stood at the floor-to-ceiling window of their penthouse, coffee in hand, and gazed down at the streets below. Ten years. A decade had passed since Adrian had proposed, since the family had been fully reunited, and yet, every morning still felt like a miracle.

The children were grown now—Stella was almost in her twenties, vibrant and fiercely independent, while John had taken after his father in determination and charm. The apartment was quieter than it had been during the chaotic early years, but laughter and life still echoed through its walls.

Adrian appeared behind her, his presence quiet yet commanding. He wrapped an arm around her waist, resting his chin lightly on her shoulder. "Thinking about how far we've come?" he asked, his voice calm but warm.

Lucy smiled softly, leaning into him. "Every day, Adrian. I still remember those first months—every fear, every hesitation, every triumph. And now look at us… look at them." She gestured toward the living room where framed photos of family milestones lined the walls—graduations, birthdays, even the children's first overseas trips.

Adrian chuckled. "We survived everything life threw at us. Betrayal, business rivals, my ego… and somehow, we turned it all into something beautiful. Not perfect, but ours."

Lucy's hand tightened around his. "I never want to forget that. I never want to take it for granted. Ten years, and yet… every day with you still feels like a choice I'd make again in a heartbeat."

Adrian smiled, his eyes reflecting decades of love and trials conquered together. "I'd choose you every day too, Lucy. And I'll keep choosing you until the very end."

They stood together in silence, watching the city wake up. Outside, the world moved fast, unpredictable and unrelenting, yet inside the Kane family's penthouse, there was a calm that had been earned through years of struggle, love, and resilience. Ten years later, their story was no longer just about survival—it was about thriving, together.
