Chapter 73 - Enel defeat (73)

As Enel looked at Kairo, the feeling he had earlier returned. Those black wings, that fire, that dark skin.

That white hair...

"You...!" The man weakly walked toward Kairo, bleeding heavily. His internal organs weren't doing so well—Luffy may have tried using Ryo. He couldn't, of course, but some of his strikes slipped into Enel during the pounding session.

Some of his internal organs were wrecked not because Luffy knew Ryo, but because his attempts were so sloppy they somehow worked. A good way to put it: between someone who knew how to use a bat and someone who didn't, both could hit you. The professional would do clean damage, but the beginner might hit something you didn't even think could be hit.

TL;DR—it was so bad, that it worked... somehow.

Luffy had no Ryo skill, yet he still managed to mess Enel up.

But this wasn't about that.

Kairo looked at Enel.

"You are one of those gods, aren't you?" Enel said, staggering toward him. Kairo paused.

Him? A god? No.

Kairo took out his axe, lightning beginning to gather around the weapon.

"I am simply a ninja." Kairo was ready to take the man's head off.

Enel, whose pride was already shattered by Luffy, refused to be disrespected further.

Kairo was blocking his way to the Ark. So... it was time to kill him.

Enel launched lightning at Kairo, but Kairo vanished from sight, reappearing in front of him with a powerful axe strike aimed straight for his head.

Enel usually wouldn't bother dodging, but after the pounding he took earlier, he did.

Kairo eyed him.

"You're better than expected," Kairo admitted.

Enel glared at him.

"You may be a god, but you cannot defeat me. I have ascended past your kind."

Before he could continue his monologue, he noticed a cut on his cheek.

He was cut. By that axe. If he hadn't dodged, he would've died...

Immediately, Enel wasted no time. Pumping himself full of lightning, he became a giant beast made of pure lightning.

"Try and hurt me now."

Kairo took a light step—

Fwosh

Enel turned his head. And there he was—Kairo, already behind him.

With one slash, his coac and Ryo covering the blade, Kairo cut across Enel's back.

The strike met zero resistance, slicing cleanly through as a massive gash opened across Enel's back.

He screamed in pain, but not before—

Rasengan

Enel went flying into a nearby wall, his back feeling like it had been blown out... again.

Kairo's gaze was cold.

"He's so weak," Kairo muttered. He had barely used any strength, yet the guy was screaming. Though, to be fair, Enel was already majorly injured, so there was that.

Time to finish him off.

But before he could, from the sky, Luffy landed—directly on top of Kairo.

"Kairo! Found you!" he said, excited.

"...From how far up did you jump?" Kairo asked.

"The Upper Yard!" Luffy replied.

"...Did you think about where you were going to land?" Kairo pressed.

"The clouds are pretty comfy."

"What if you landed on solid ground or the White Sea?" Kairo questioned again.

"It's fine, I didn't. No need to ponder on ifs," Luffy said with a beaming smile.

Kairo sighed.

Hearing Luffy's voice, Robin peeked her head out.

"Hey Robin! Hey old man!" Luffy waved at them.

As Robin was about to reply, Kairo's Observation Haki flared, and he rushed toward Enel.

Meanwhile, Luffy ran toward Robin.

"You're too late!" Enel shouted with a smile.

Raigo

A massive ball of lightning came crashing down toward them, threatening to kill them all.

Enel was going to end everyone here.

But before he could rejoice, his head was cleanly sliced through.

Then, using his hax, Kairo poured Haki into the axe before tossing it at Luffy.

Luffy grabbed Stormbreaker.

Gum-Gum Slash

The massive ball of lightning energy was cleanly sliced in two. The halves trembled, ready to explode, but Stormbreaker glowed and absorbed the vast majority of it.

Still, one lightning strike slipped past him.

"Old man!" Luffy shouted, watching it head straight for Cricket.

Cricket froze.

'So this is how I die...' Strangely, he felt no regret.

He closed his eyes, accepting his fate.

BAM

But the blow never came. When Cricket opened his eyes, Nolah—the lord of the sky—stood towering over him, scorched black. The beast had tanked the attack for him.

Everyone was shocked... except Kairo, who currently had a pear against Enel's chest.

As the pear changed form, Kairo smiled.

The Goro Goro no Mi had been acquired.

He wondered what to do with it.

Oh well. It would go into his Devil Fruit collection until he found a way to fuse it with his axe, giving it even more firepower.

But then, his gaze shifted to something else in the corner of his vision... a strange Devil Fruit.

It was hidden in the clouds—no, blended in with them.

A/N Wonder who get this new fruit he found.

For one billion dollar would you rather punch a celestial dragon infront of An admiral.

Or

Punch Prime Shaky in her bar during Rock Era.
