A Logia Devil Fruit, though this wasn't what Kairo wanted. He closed his eyes a bit, locking onto the Devil Fruit's frequency.
When he opened his eyes again, he appeared to be in the Abyss. In front of him stood a creature—entirely made out of sand. The beast circled around him. He didn't budge, but he was confused. This didn't feel like a beast's will, more like just the resonance of something. It felt odd.
This was the damn Abyss for Christ's sake.
If he remembered correctly, Devil Fruits were the crystallization of human desires that somehow became real, likely influenced by the world's mysterious forces.
Though he personally believed—no, knew—that there were souls in that bitch, and he could resonate with them. He just needed to learn the frequency of this fruit, and he could try mimicking its power when he was out there.
If he got a Zoan, he would be better at controlling his transformation jutsu, but for now, he would simply try and lock onto that frequency.
Though it seemed a bit harder with a Logia.
"Yo Kairo, what you doing?"
Kairo was pulled from the Abyss back to the real world where he saw Luffy.
Kairo blinked multiple times. He didn't get the chance to finish the connection. Goddammit.
He wanted to be annoyed at Luffy but couldn't bring himself to.
"I am fine."
"You sure? You've been staring at that fruit for a while now." Luffy raised an eyebrow as he said that. Kairo sighed before replying.
"I was just checking it out."
"Oh nice, mind if I eat it?"
Before Luffy could take a bite, Kairo pushed him away.
"You damn idiot, you already ate a Devil Fruit. Eating another will kill you."
"It will?"
"Yes." Kairo placed the Devil Fruit away from Luffy's gaze.
His eyes drifted to the king, then to the Poneglyph. Hm. He walked up to it and pressed a hand against the stone.
"What is this?"
"You must be the person Vivi talked about," the king said weakly, getting up.
Kairo turned to look at him.
"Old guy, you must be Vivi's father."
"Yes, I am King Nefertari Cobra, the 12th king of Alabasta, and Vivi is my daughter." The man stood fully upright.
Neat, good for him.
Kairo returned to the Poneglyph.
"What is this?"
"It's a Poneglyph, left behind by the queen of Alabasta 800 years ago."
Kairo looked at it.
"Pluton... located... Wano... cave... Joy Boy... mountain..." Kairo's brow furrowed. How the fuck could he understand this?
{Voice of All Things has leveled up.}
"You can read it?" The king seemed shocked. There were barely any people in the world who could read those things. How the fuck could he?
"I... can't," Kairo replied dryly.
The king seemed confused. If he couldn't read it, how the hell could he say it out loud?
"You can't?"
Kairo turned to Luffy.
"Don't you hear the same thing?"
"Hear?" The king seemed even more confused. Those were texts—what the fuck did he mean by hearing shit? How the hell does one hear writing? What kind of BS was this?
Luffy blinked, looked at the stone for a bit, then said:
"Hm... Pluton, and the weird sound of waves. There's nothing else." He stuck a finger in his ear.
The king was stunned. Two people, both claiming they could hear stuff from looking at a block of writing?
The sound of coughing drew their attention—it was Robin. She puked up blood, her vision fuzzy. As she looked toward the group, she swore she saw someone else.
"Hey, she's waking up! Kairo, look!"
As Luffy turned around—Kairo was gone.
"Huh? Where did he go?" Luffy asked, looking around. Where the hell did Kairo vanish to?
"Where's Crocodile?" Robin muttered, slowly getting up.
"Oh, Kairo defeated him," Luffy answered casually.
Robin was confused. Who the hell was this Kairo fella?
"He was here a couple of seconds ago, but he vanished before you woke up, for some strange reason." Luffy scratched his head. Why did Kairo leave so quickly?
Robin weakly stood. It seemed like Crocodile had gotten the dogshit beaten out of him. Looking at the remains—yow. Hold up. Where the fuck was his body?
Where Crocodile's body used to be, a pile of sand remained. He was beyond dead, his body dried up into a husk as if someone had used the sand's power to suck him dry—like he did to Luffy in canon.
Some sand also seemed to linger behind.
{Abyss has leveled up.}
{Voice of All Things has leveled up.}
{Skill Synchronization has been gained.}
Kairo wasn't looking at his notifications right now. He was trying to hide.
"Kairo, come out," Luffy called, glancing around.
Kairo stayed hidden.
Luffy closed his eyes slightly. He figured it out—Kairo must be trying to help him train his Observation Haki. That had to be it. What other purpose did hiding serve?
When he opened his eyes again, Luffy smiled.
He stretched his arm out and then snapped it back. When his hand returned, Kairo had been caught.
"Got ya!"
"Shi-shi-shi..." Kairo's brow furrowed. That wasn't Luffy's laugh.
"Hahahaha!" Okay, that was.
"You?"
Kairo froze when he heard Robin's voice.
Fuck. His heart was beating so fast he wanted to vanish into the ground.

🆕 Skill Description
Skill Synchronization
Type: Resonance / Supportive
Function: Allows Kairo to "tune" himself to the frequency of an external force, skill, or environment by using the Voice of All Things as a bridge.
Effects:
Reduces learning curve for techniques by syncing his body and energy flow to the pattern of the ability. (E.g., syncing with water currents makes Water Style smoother and faster.)
Grants temporary boosts when fighting beings he can "hear" clearly — anticipation, faster adaptation, and reactive counters.
Makes difficult arts like Flying Raijin and Sealing far more stable by aligning his haki flow with the natural "rhythm" of the technique.[world]
Can bypass incompatibilities by harmonizing foreign energies with his own flame/Haki base.
Crutch/Drawback: Over-syncing can destabilize his core frequency (his Lunarien flame + Haki mix). If he syncs with too many things at once, backlash can shred his nervous system or cause total energy drain.
A/N Okay now i think its time i explain this shit.
I used bleach for this, everything in one piece has Haki, I kinda use it like souls in bleach, everything has it.
How his techniques works is simple, when he is making a water jutsu, he simply mimicking the resonance or haki signature of something.
That about it, for transformation jutsu, at first i was like messing with people observation haki, but then i changed my mind, I remember how Zoro Ashura form is a thing and character can actually see that shit and its not just a reader exclusive.
So for that, I will say, unlike most people who seperate haki into 3 category, he just kinda fuse that shit for his jutsu.
Imbuing his will in the world or some shit like that, as for why the need for resonance, the better he know something compound the better he can mimic it and attune to it.
Think of it like frequency in wuwa for those playing it, everything in the world has it.
