Chapter 13: A Windfall of Ten-Thousand-Year Whale Glue

A short while later.

Ning Tian and Wu Feng were lying face-down on their beds, soft bodies relaxed against the sheets.

Each girl wore only thin undergarments—simple shorts and bras.

Dozens of slender silver needles were neatly inserted along the acupuncture points of their backs.

"Alright, the needles will dissolve on their own in about one stick of incense. You'll be able to move comfortably by then," Ye Chen said, clapping his hands. His tone was calm, but his gaze… wandered.

He had to admit—both Ning Tian and Wu Feng had perfect skin.

Wu Feng's figure was lush and full, vibrant with healthy athleticism. Her complexion was flawless—pale yet warm, skin both firm and soft to the touch, perfectly elastic.

Ning Tian, on the other hand, was delicate and refined—a true noble lady. Her skin was so smooth and translucent it reminded Ye Chen of a fresh lychee—soft, cool, utterly flawless.

Firm for one, silky for the other—both felt exquisite in their own right.

Overall, Wu Feng had the better curves—her figure eye-catching in all the right places.

Ning Tian lagged slightly behind—still blossoming—but by no means lacking.

"U-um… Ye Chen, stop staring, okay…"

Ning Tian risked a glance over her shoulder, locking eyes with him before flushing crimson and burying her face into her pillow.

Wu Feng followed suit, neck and ears flushed red, unable to utter a word.

Though acupuncture naturally required some undressing, being watched like this was far more embarrassing than they had expected.

Still, it was hard to blame Ye Chen—they had requested treatment, after all…

And truth be told, his acupuncture worked wonders.

Despite all the needles in their backs, the girls felt waves of comfort spreading through their bodies—blood and spirit flowing freely, their fatigue fading entirely.

Their minds felt lighter, hearts calmer.

"Hehe, then I'll leave you both to rest."

Ye Chen smiled easily, unaffected, and turned to leave once he confirmed they were fine.

With the knowledge from his"Hundred Solutions of Acupuncture"and his family's medical heritage, Ye Chen's acupuncture couldn't accelerate soul power cultivation, but it could harmonize meridians and balance emotions—making the body feel deeply rejuvenated.

Even better, it left both patient and healer feeling quite… satisfied.

Yes—very pleasant indeed.

Downstairs, the elderly Mu En watched Ye Chen's departing figure and chuckled softly to himself.

"Young people these days really know how to play…"

Not that he was spying on the girls' dorm, of course.

No—he was merely… listening.

No, even that wasn't right! He was the dignified headmaster of Shrek Academy—he never eavesdropped.

His spiritual power was simply too sensitive, and sounds just happened to reach him on their own.

Yes… that was it.

Still, he hadn't expected Ye Chen to possess a Twin Martial Soul.

Even Yan Shaozhe didn't seem aware of it.

While that first martial soul—a single silver needle—seemed ordinary, with the proper soul rings, it could easily become a deadly weapon.

Meanwhile, at the Academic Office.

Zhou Yi stormed into Director Du Weilan's office, slamming a hand on his desk.

"Director Du, why wasn't Ye Chen assigned to Class One?!"

Du Weilan blinked, startled. "Huh? Zhou Yi, why should he be in your class?"

Caught off guard by her anger, he scratched his head, though he dared not push too far.

After all, her husband, Fan Yu, was one of the most influential soul engineers in the outer court.

Even his own custom soul device was still being built—one word from Zhou Yi, and it might never be finished.

"Hmph, you know how talented that boy is! A genius like that should be trained by me! Mu Jin's just a weak Soul King—she probably couldn't even take one punch from Ye Chen! She's not qualified to teach him!"

Her jealousy was practically boiling over.

"Professor Zhou," Du Weilan sighed, "you might be misunderstanding something. I wasn't the one who assigned him—Ye Chen chose Class Nine himself."

"What? Why didn't you recommend Class One? He's a new student—what would he know? Didn't you tell him Mu Jin is only a Soul King?"

"I did tell him!" Du Weilan said helplessly. "But Ye Chen said the number 'Nine' is lucky and insisted on joining Class Nine. He's Dean Yan Shaozhe's personal disciple—I couldn't exactly force him."

Zhou Yi's expression turned green and then white.

Unbelievable. To think she'd lose out over something so trivial.

"Professor Zhou," Du Weilan added cautiously, "I advise you not to try persuading him to transfer. That'd violate academy protocol."

Poaching students was a serious offense—no one, not even Fan Yu, could protect her from disciplinary action if she tried it.

"Humph!"

Fuming, Zhou Yi turned on her heel and stormed out, her anger simmering without relief.

Later, Ye Chen left the dormitory and decided to wander around Shrek City, picking up a few things for himself.

Coming from a wealthy family of physicians, he was never short on money.

Inside his storage-type soul tool, he had thousands of gold soul coins—and a prepaid card worth another hundred thousand, valid across the largest commercial establishments.

His destination: Wanbao Pavilion.

As a top-tier VIP there, Ye Chen enjoyed a 40% discount on all items.

Even with that reduction, the profit margins remained enormous—proof that the pavilion's markup easily doubled or tripled the actual value.

But this world had no monopoly laws, and the major trading guilds monopolized most markets.

Naturally, their prices were outrageous.

Still, they weren't stupid—they only overcharged ordinary folks.

When dealing with Shrek students or major clans, they generously offered discounts to foster goodwill.

"Welcome, distinguished guest. What can I help you find today?"

The moment Ye Chen presented his VIP card, two young salesgirls approached immediately, both beautiful and well-dressed—perhaps a bit too eager.

Ordinarily, only one attendant served a VIP, but Ye Chen's looks were impossibly striking. Even these well-trained attendants found themselves drawn to him, both volunteering at once.

"Do you have any whale glue in stock?" Ye Chen asked casually.

"Ah, apologies, honored guest," said the girl to his left with a polite bow, "but our monthly quota of whale glue has already been reserved."

Whale glue was exceedingly rare. A single piece of top-grade millennium whale glue cost at least fifty thousand gold soul coins.

Those beyond a thousand years old could exceed one hundred thousand.

The treasure was scarce—and the Pavilion received only three portions per month, all sold by pre-order long in advance.

"You could, however," she added with a hopeful smile, "place a reservation now. We may be able to secure you a portion in about half a year."

Ye Chen nodded thoughtfully.

Maybe half a year sounded long… but given how much luck favored him these days, he suspected he might not even have to wait that long.

After all—fortune had a way of finding him.
