Chapter 75: My Lord, My Lord! Please, Do Something Serious for Once!
"Spend more time with Jiang Chen?!"
Gu Yue, sprawled across her sofa, practically exploded the moment she heard her master's words.
"I'd rather die than play nice with that arrogant fool!"
"Master, you don't need to meddle—I know exactly what I'm doing!"
Leng Yaozhu sighed. That's exactly why I don't trust you.
She'd only been Gu Yue's mentor for a short while, but she already knew the girl's personality like the back of her hand—conceited, smug, thinking she was the smartest being in the world while everyone else danced in her palm.
To others, though? She looked like a hopelessly naive second-rate schemer.
Jiang Chen: Yes.
That didn't exactly inspire confidence.
Leng Yaozhu took a deep breath and looked back over Tang Wulin's profile. Compared to Jiang Chen, the difference was staggering.
The Federation's history suggested one era could produce only a single Divine Blacksmith—and with Zhen Hua still alive and thriving, Tang Wulin's prospects were… limited.
A smart girl wouldn't pin her hopes on that kind of future.
A man choosing the wrong career was bad enough.
A woman choosing the wrong partner? Even worse.
Unacceptable! She felt even less at ease now.
The thought of her own past mistakes made her blood pressure spike. She couldn't let Gu Yue follow in her footsteps. If necessary, she'd just send her to the Extreme North to "cool off" with the Snow Empress for a few decades.
Gu Yue: Excuse me? I'm the Silver Dragon King—the Queen of Soul Beasts—and you want to hand me off to Snow Empress for re-education? What a joke.
"Master, I told you already—Tang Wulin's bloodline power is mine for the taking! And that rotten Jiang Chen? He'll never slip from my grasp either."
"So relax!"
Gu Yue hung up before her teacher could respond.
Then she gleefully picked up her favorite book, 108 Ways to Humiliate a Man, and grinned from ear to ear, imagining every degrading method she could employ against Jiang Chen.
Soon, the dorm filled with her muffled giggles.
Leng Yaozhu: …What did I just hear?
Was her little Gu Yue seriously planning to juggle two men?
Meanwhile, someone else was equally troubled—Di Tian.
Lately, he couldn't shake the feeling that his glorious ruler had completely lost focus.
A being wielding divine king–level power (well, technically only first-class deity strength, since the Dragon God's Heart hadn't been reclaimed yet) ought to either conquer the world or maintain balance—not split into two human selves and start mingling with mortals.
What was she even doing anymore?
"You've lived for tens of thousands of years, my lord," he muttered under his breath, "and you're… falling in love? That's a living nightmare."
He shook his head vigorously, trying to banish the thought.
"Impossible. My master would never fall in love. She's not even human."
Still… her recent actions didn't exactly scream "divine authority."
But she was his ruler. He might not understand her choices, yet obedience was absolute.
"Maybe this isn't so bad," he murmured. "I wouldn't mind if the master just stayed asleep forever…"
Then realization hit, and he nearly slapped himself.
"What am I thinking?! That's my lord I'm talking about! The supreme one! How dare I even—no, no, her majesty is beyond reproach!"
Di Tian strode through the streets, his tall figure dressed in a sleek black suit, a Spirit Pagoda Vice Tower Master badge gleaming on his chest.
Every passerby—human or soul beast—bowed respectfully as he walked past.
"Vice Tower Master!"
"Greetings, Tower Master!"
Expression unreadable, he merely waved them off. "Carry on."
In the past, he'd found this role amusing. Humans, once terrified of him, now treated him as a celebrity—thanks to his frequent appearances on Federation broadcasts.
The "Golden-Eyed Black Dragon King" had become a household name.
And really, who didn't adore a majestic dragon radiating dominance?
The city nestled within the Star Dou Forest thrived in harmony. Herds of young spirit beasts frolicked through the streets.
Occasionally, a few hotheaded predators—like snake-type beasts—couldn't suppress their instincts and lunged at hapless prey.
Nearby humans quickly intervened, separating them and sealing the offenders back into their Spirit Spheres for a brief "reflection period."
The once-chaotic wilderness had been transformed. The Star Dou City no longer divided itself into inner and outer circles, nor did it fear beast tides.
Spirit beasts and humans coexisted, guided by shared law and mutual respect.
For Di Tian, this was proof that his identity as the Soul Beast King meant something. He protected these new generations—this free, thriving world they were building together.
As for the lost glory of the Dragon Clan…
He knew better than to dwell on it. Even if his master reclaimed the Golden Dragon King bloodline, she would never again be the Dragon God of old.
"Ah... Dragon God," he sighed softly. "If you were still here, how wonderful it would be."
Within the Star Dou Forest's metropolis, three great beasts remained.
The Golden-Eyed Black Dragon King Di Tian, and his wives—Emerald Swan Bi Ji and Abyssal Demon Dragon King Zi Ji.
But, following Jiang Chen's advice, Di Tian had long scattered his kindred across the world to reassure the Federation.
After all, with the Dragon God Claw in his possession, even the strongest human couldn't truly threaten him.
The beast hierarchy had reformed:
Second place, Evil-Eyed Tyrant—occupied by Jiang Chen himself.
Third, Snow Empress Snow, the new Spirit Pagoda master of Snow City in the Extreme North.
Fifth, Demon Tree Emperor—the Myriad Demon King, assigned to the former Sun–Moon Empire's demonic forest to manage reforestation… soon rebranded as a nature sanctuary. He now also governed a local Pagoda branch and was handling the leftover Jade-Scaled Sevenfold Flowers from the old Ice-Fire Well site.
Sixth, Darkgold Dreadclaw Bear King, now the Pagoda master of Heaven Dou City. Through trade with the Clear Sky Clan, he had mastered the Chaotic Wind Hammer Technique and, surprisingly, taken up blacksmithing. Already a Saint Craftsman, he was now apprenticed to Divine Craftsman Zhen Hua, forging battle armor for almost all the high-ranking beasts.
Seventh once belonged to the Ice Jade Scorpion Queen, the Ice Emperor, but since she had ascended to the God Realm with Huo Yuhao, the title passed to the Three-Headed Red Demon Mastiff King—known as Chi King.
Tormented by guilt over failing to protect the former divine beast, the Three-Eyed Golden Lion, Chi King had since transformed his sorrow into overwhelming… reproductive fervor, creating the largest growing beast population in the entire clan.
Eighth was now one of the few major family patriarchs left among spirit beasts.
Ninth belonged to the Titan Snow Demon King, one of the former rulers of the Extreme North—whom Snow Empress had banished to the Deep South, tossing him into the endless seas to... "found the Ice Continent."
In reality, she just wanted him gone after breaking too many bones in their last duel.
Each and every great beast now had a purpose, a home, a future.
For the first time in a thousand years, Di Tian truly felt peace.
Yet, despite the stability, he found himself missing one person—the only being who truly understood him.
Jiang Chen.
He looked toward the horizon and sighed. "I wonder what that boy's up to these days."
