Chapter 68: Aura of the Dragon God! I Build a Monument to the Fire Dragon King!
Tang God King: Achoo!
Why did it suddenly feel like something was missing? Well, no matter.
Watching Tang Wulin's rapid progress, Tang San felt rather satisfied.
So what if the boy had joined the Spirit Pagoda and the Federation? In the end, all those resources would only serve to enrich his son. When the time came, Tang Wulin would naturally return to Shrek Academy and the Tang Sect.
All part of the plan—flawless!
The Tang God King, in all his celestial arrogance, had no idea that his precious Eyes of Ice and Fire were about to vanish entirely.
The third immortal herb to step into Jiang Chen's miniature God Realm was none other than the King of Herbs, Killer Emerald Tulip.
He had been facing his three-hundred-thousand-year heavenly tribulation, one he knew he'd never survive.
If the God Realm still existed, he might have gambled on following the Sea God's chosen into ascension. But now the God Realm was gone, and though the Sea God had once promised to return, no one knew when—or if—that time would come.
And this new God Realm being forged belonged to the soul beasts themselves.
If it worked, he would be one of its founding elders.
A first-class god.
"Hehehe… what a sweet deal," he thought, eyes gleaming.
The other immortal plants, seeing their leader defect, immediately lost any will to resist.
Why struggle? Against two divine-level beasts, defiance was suicide.
One after another, they accepted their fates, uprooting themselves and marching in an orderly line into the small God Realm.
When it came time for the Eight-Petal Ice Crystal Grass, however, Jiang Chen stopped it.
"I intend to forge a divine weapon—a pillar for godhood itself," Jiang Chen said mildly. "I will require your true body. But I promise you this: I'll leave a seed behind, nurtured by immortal qi, and you'll be reborn as a true divine spirit."
The Ice God's Heart, the Ice Dragon King's corpse—he would need these and more.
The Ice Crystal Grass, which had grown upon the Dragon King's remains, was a vital material.
At Jiang Chen's words, the herb froze, its brilliant petals trembling.
"Senior… must it be me?"
Was he truly being sacrificed? This wasn't fair!
Jiang Chen smiled patiently. "Why so nervous? Didn't your earlier incarnation ascend to godhood alongside Huo Yuhao? You left behind a seed and became what you are now."
"Why not again? It's still you."
"Even if the new Divine Realm fails, you'll still serve as the spirit of a godly weapon. Hardly a bad deal, is it?"
The Ice Crystal Grass whimpered. Under the combined pressure of three divine beasts—and especially the chilling gaze of the Snow Empress—it shuddered and bent its petals in resignation.
"...Alright."
And just like that, Jiang Chen had practically packed up the entire set of immortal herbs. The process was smooth, without the slightest resistance.
Who would dare rebel, when Ah Yin herself sat enthroned here?
Even knowing Jiang Chen was making grand promises, they had no choice but to swallow the bait whole.
"Next," Jiang Chen said, eyes glinting, "we deal with the corpses of the Ice and Fire Dragon Kings. Ah Yin!"
Ah Yin nodded. Though she couldn't manifest the full power of a second-rank god, her Blue Silver Grass spread across the entire domain of the Eyes of Ice and Fire, weaving a net of radiant azure.
From beneath the surface, her roots stretched deep, gathering strength.
Suddenly, the once-still halves of red and blue lake water began to fall—one inch, two, five—draining visibly.
And then—
"Golden Dragon Spear!"
"Silver Dragon Spear!"
Two weapons appeared: each over five meters long, shimmering one in gold and one in silver, dragon patterns faintly coiling along their surfaces.
These weren't ordinary divine tools—they were legendary.
The Golden Dragon Spear, once lost when the Tang God King scolded Huo Yuhao, had long since "reappeared" in Jiang Chen's possession.
He had stolen it cleanly.
Back then, he'd even siphoned a trace of the Golden Dragon King's bloodline from Qiu'er's body—otherwise, he could never wield the weapon without being drained dry by its devouring power.
And the Silver Dragon Spear, taken from Na'er's essence, he certainly hadn't returned to Gu Yue.
"If the Golden and Silver Dragon Kings could merge their powers to become the Dragon God once more," Jiang Chen mused, "then these two spears can do the same."
He only needed a spark—a mere shred—of Dragon God's aura.
As their tips touched, an overwhelming pulse of power erupted—but rather than oppose, they fused together, radiating a seven-colored brilliance.
Two mighty dragon roars echoed across the heavens, shaking the valley to its core.
The pressure was suffocating. Even Jiang Chen felt a primal urge to grovel.
He snarled and forced it down.
"Evil God Transformation!"
His second ring flared to life, igniting his alien bloodline.
A wave of god-slaying darkness burst forth—no weaker than the blood of the Nine Dragon Kings themselves.
At that moment, the lake exploded, water spiraling skyward as two massive dragon phantoms appeared—one icy blue, one scarlet flame.
The Ice Dragon King and Fire Dragon King, ancient gods of their kind, exuded the power of long-lost monarchs.
Even in death, their auras remained overwhelming.
"Elder Eliade!" Jiang Chen called.
A glimmer of light appeared—Electrolux's shadow. With a thought, he drew from the trace of Golden Dragon blood and a scale once traded from Gu Yue, merging the golden and silver spears into one.
For an instant—
there it was.
The unmistakable breath of the Dragon God.
The residual souls of the twin Dragon Kings trembled before that presence, bowing instinctively in submission.
Jiang Chen turned.
"Snow Empress!"
"On it!"
From her chest, she drew forth the Heart of Ice—a crystalline, teardrop-shaped gem, clear as frozen sky.
She raised it high, and in a blinding flare of azure light, it launched toward the Ice Dragon King's corpse.
With a crack like shattering glass, the soul and body of the Ice Dragon King were absorbed whole.
When the light settled, a sculpted image of a dragon now lay etched within the crystal's surface.
As for the Fire Dragon King—it offered no resistance. The two had never been bound as mates, only compatriots in the Dragon God's reign. In death, both remained loyal to their supreme ruler's will.
Jiang Chen had their remains gentled away, transferring the fire spirit into a monumental tomb within the small God Realm he had prepared.
The Tomb of the Fire Dragon King, one of the Nine Dragon Gods under the Dragon God's banner.
Where Tang Wulin had once buried dragon bones and won the dragons' approval, Jiang Chen now followed.
He had no need of the Fire Dragon King's blessing. All he asked was for peace—to simply rest quietly in this new sanctuary. A fitting tomb for a fallen monarch.
Really, he thought, I'm doing him a favor.
"Done!" Jiang Chen breathed.
The Snow Empress held the Heart of Ice in trembling hands, her pale eyes wide with disbelief as the frozen figure of the Ice Dragon King shimmered within.
She looked from the gem to Jiang Chen.
This was—the Ice Dragon King! One of the Nine Dragon Kings!
And just like that… it was subdued.
Once, she had doubted she could ever attain the divine position of Ice God. Even when she dared take human form, it was only to preserve her fading life essence.
But now, under Jiang Chen's orchestration, she was closer to godhood than ever before.
For the first time, she truly believed—
perhaps… she could really ascend.
"Thank you… Jiang Chen. I… I don't even know how to—"
Her words broke into a trembling sob.
"Uuuh…"
