Chapter 44 - Chapter 44: Electrolux Thinks Jiang Chen Is Simply Too Evil!

Chapter 44: Electrolux Thinks Jiang Chen Is Simply Too Evil!

If he had transmigrated as a human without a system, his only choice would've been to lick Tang San's boots and follow him to godhood.

(Let's face it—there are two eras of Douluo fan culture. Years ago, everyone worshiped Tang San and hated Spirit Hall. Now? Everyone writes about humiliating Tang San.)

Otherwise, how could anyone possibly compete with him?

People love to mock the Mysterious Heaven Skill, but honestly—were you any better before crossing over? A half-dead college student with worse stamina than a high-schooler?

Without a system, how could you catch up? If your martial soul didn't even awaken, you were doomed from the start.

Luckily, Jiang Chen wasn't human.

He was a soul beast.

He could take the patient path—the "endure and outlast" road to victory.

Just as Sima Yi once said—survive, and everything else follows.

A moment later, a spectral figure drifted into view. Electrolux appeared before him, and floating alongside his ancient presence was… a blackened pokéball.

Electrolux—once a necromancer of awe—smiled faintly. He'd always been a master of undead magic; enslaving a wounded soul spirit was child's play.

Without a word, he lifted his hand. Dark energy—chill, decay, and death—spiraled together, converging into his palm as a spectral staff materialized from nothing.

By the light of intricate runes carved midair, he drew the pattern of magic itself.

Energy poured into the sphere. Its red and white split faded into pitch black before dropping into Jiang Chen's waiting hand.

Electrolux spoke softly. "This is a necromantic binding spell—an enslavement art of my own design."

It was, by nature, a spell that shackled another's spirit, forcing their will to serve the master—a truly vile magic.

For a brief moment, even Electrolux's expression wavered.

Though the world called him the Calamity of the Undead, his heart had always tended toward the light.

He had passed on the Eternal Heart—the very essence of light—to Long Haochen. To Sheng Cai'er he had given the Eternal Tower and the Eternal Melody.

But never—not once—had he handed down something this corrupt.

Even Huo Yuhao's necromantic techniques lacked any hint of enslavement.

Because enslavement meant absolute domination—mind and body both. A single thought from the master could erase the slave's existence entirely.

In theory, one could brand the entire world under such control—but that would be pure evil.

Even Electrolux, long thought to have fallen, had only reanimated the dead, not subjugated the living.

He looked at Jiang Chen—concern flickering in his ghostly eyes.

Yes. This youth was far too dark.

Far darker than even he had ever been.

For the first time, the ancient necromancer hesitated—should he really entrust such a spell to someone like this?

Jiang Chen, of course, had no idea what the old ghost was thinking.

He simply took the blackened sphere, grinning. "Perfect."

He casually pointed it toward the unconscious Blue Silver Emperor before him—and with a flash of darkness, she was sealed inside.

"Excellent! I just captured Tang God King's mom."

"Ancestor! I'm angry!"

The moment Jiang Chen stepped out of the Spirit Ascension Platform, he was greeted by a furious whirlwind—Huo Yun'er, dressed in her pleated skirt, charging toward him in a huff.

He hadn't answered messages, ignored calls, and disappeared for days. She was livid.

(Inner Jiang Chen: Is this… mutiny?)

Before she could reach him, a large hand pressed on her head—Huo Tiangang's.

"Yun'er," he said sternly, "no disrespect toward the Ancestor!"

Seeing his granddaughter's temper, he frowned slightly. He knew the family's plan—and supported it wholeheartedly.

After all, what choice did he have?

If the Ancestor rebuilt his body and got tricked away by another woman, wouldn't the Huo Clan lose not only its million-year ancestor but also its chance at a god-tier martial soul heir?

That would be catastrophic!

Better to keep the advantage within the family.

Still, the Ancestor needed to be willing. No one dared force him to sire heirs for the clan—that would cross the line.

He sighed. "We need to train that temper of hers," he muttered. "How can she win the Ancestor's favor acting like a wild cat?"

As for whether Huo Yun'er herself would agree?

Well, even if she didn't—someone else would.

Pinned by the hand on her head, Yun'er could only stamp her feet furiously.

But no—she couldn't forgive him this easily!

At the very least, she decided, she wouldn't cook for him for a whole week.

He'd have to remember how important she was!

Jiang Chen felt awkward guilt rising. He really had forgotten her.

Quickly taking her hand, he smiled. "Yun'er, I didn't forget you—I was preparing a surprise!"

"How could I ever forget you? Your first soul spirit—I arranged that myself! Something so valuable—I couldn't possibly forget the person it belongs to!"

"Since Na'er left, I finally realized… Yun'er, you're the one who truly matters most to me!"

He hugged her tightly.

Yun'er blinked, face bright red, brain short-circuiting.

R-Really?

"Oh, Ancestor, don't cry," she said softly, patting his back. "Yun'er isn't like that ungrateful white-eyed wolf! I'd never abandon you!"

"If that white-eyed wolf ever dares show up again, I'll beat her until she can't tell up from down!"

Her little fists pumped with righteous fury.

Jiang Chen watched her fondly.

"Of course, Yun'er cares the most for me. As it happens, I bought you a new dress—a surprise I've been saving."

Her eyes widened. "R-really?"

Instantly, her anger melted. Her earlier resentment vanished into giddy delight.

See? The Ancestor had finally realized who truly stayed by his side!

After all, who was it that never left him, no matter what?

Yes! From now on, she could eat with him at the same table.

Her cheeks flushed pink. Maybe… I'll forgive him.

After all, the Ancestor was still just a child at heart.

Jiang Chen sighed in relief.

It had worked.

He'd long mastered the art of balancing authority and affection—keeping her on the brink of explosion, never letting her actually snap.

Yes, it was manipulative—almost cruel.

But what could he do? He wasn't human to begin with.

And in his mind, truly—it was for her own good.

Still, when he looked at the dress in his hands—the one he'd originally bought for Na'er—he couldn't help but wince.

Now he was giving it to Yun'er instead.

Damn. That sounded exactly like something a scumbag would do.

He shook the thought away quickly. She must never find out—or she'd cry for days again.

He shuddered just imagining it.

Disobedient children… were the absolute worst.
