Chapter 92 - Chapter 92: The Shrek Seven Assemble

Chapter 92: The Shrek Seven Assemble

It felt as if nothing had changed—yet at the same time, as if his entire body had evolved.

His meridians were fully open, energy flowing freely.

Dugu Feng felt entranced.

The sensation was pure bliss—so comfortable he didn't want to wake from it.

Guarded by his twin Jade Serpent Dragons, he was both meditating and resting at once, his mind wrapped in soothing warmth, losing all sense of time.

That same morning, at the gates of Shrek Academy—

A young girl in a sky-blue dress stood there, watching Teacher Li Yusong conduct entrance exams with amused patience.

One by one, after brief assessments, each hopeful boy or girl was turned away.

"Teacher," Ning Rongrong complained, stepping forward. "At this rate, we won't recruit a single student today! When will I ever get a junior sister? I'm bored out of my mind being stuck here with just those guys!"

She had already been at Shrek Academy for nearly a year, and including her, there were only four students—

Evil-Eyed White Tiger Dai Mubai, Evil Fire Phoenix Ma Hongjun, and that weirdo with the sausage martial soul, Oscar.

Finally, it was enrollment day again.

Ning Rongrong had hoped some talented newcomers might appear, but so far—no one qualified.

"Rongrong," Li Yusong said gently, used to her temperament, "our academy only accepts monsters, not ordinary folk.

If they're not extraordinary, they don't deserve to train alongside you."

He always spoke to her carefully. Since joining Shrek, Ning Rongrong had indeed worked hard—her talent was exceptional.

And though she occasionally lost her temper or acted proud, even Shrek's teachers avoided crossing her.

Only Flender, armed with a letter from Ning Fengzhi—essentially a royal decree from the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect—had dared to impose a few rules on her.

But after her time at the Heaven Dou Junior Academy, her arrogance had softened.

Her experience with Dugu Feng had humbled her—his strength had utterly overshadowed hers.

The memory of his skill drove her to improve constantly.

By now, she had reached level twenty-eight, only steps away from her third ring.

Yet whenever she looked at others, she couldn't help comparing them to Dugu Feng.

Dai Mubai, three years older, was level thirty-eight—a genius by most standards.

But beside Dugu Feng? Mediocre. His pressure paled next to Dugu Feng's intensity. In a real fight, Dugu Feng could probably beat him several times over.

Dai Mubai and Ma Hongjun spent their days flirting and drinking—far from the diligence she admired.

As for Oscar, though a genius of the auxiliary type, he was irrelevant; her own clan, the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect, was the pinnacle of support abilities.

"Ugh," she sighed, "even here, there's no one as monstrous as Dugu Feng.

Is there really no one in the world more of a 'monster' than him?"

Her exasperated mutter barely faded before a tall girl, clad in black leather, approached.

Tall—and particularly grand in one specific area.

Ning Rongrong glanced down at herself, then looked again.

"How can hers be so big? She looks even younger than me!"

The girl's figure was strikingly mature, her face cold and aloof. Her black eyes held a chilling emptiness that made the contrast even more mesmerizing. She drew every gaze instinctively.

Ning Rongrong could tell immediately—this newcomer's talent had to be extraordinary.

Indeed, upon testing, her spirit power measured level thirty.

"I broke through to level thirty just yesterday," the girl said calmly, "but haven't obtained my third spirit ring yet."

She was Zhu Zhuqing. Barely older than Ning Rongrong—and already stronger.

Such talent easily passed Li Yusong's strict test.

Delighted at finally finding a true "monster," Ning Rongrong could hardly contain herself.

And luck didn't stop there.

Soon after, another boy in blue and a petite, charming girl passed the assessment as well.

Ning Rongrong clapped her hands in excitement.

"Zhu Zhuqing, Tang San, Xiao Wu—is it? Come on, I'll show you around the academy!"

Upon revealing her martial soul, the Nether Cat, Zhu Zhuqing's lineage was immediately obvious to Ning Rongrong—she was from the Zhu Clan of the Star Luo Empire.

It made perfect sense; if Shrek had Dai Mubai, then having Zhu Zhuqing too was expected. Flender apparently had connections not only with her father but also with the Star Luo royal line.

As for Tang San and Xiao Wu—those two puzzled her.

A Blue Silver Grass and a Soft Bone Rabbit? Two of the most ordinary martial souls imaginable, yet both of them had already reached level twenty-nine—one level above her!

That genuinely surprised her.

"Our academy currently has four students. With you three, that makes seven! Finally, I won't be so lonely," Ning Rongrong said cheerfully.

"You all seem fairly normal… well, except the other three; you'll see soon enough why they're called monsters."

She chattered on as she guided them through the campus.

Zhu Zhuqing already knew much about the academy—it had been part of her family's plan.

The Zhu Clan worked closely with Shrek; otherwise, Dai Mubai's presence wouldn't make sense either.

Tang San and Xiao Wu, in contrast, were full of curiosity, asking endless questions.

After some time, they arrived before Zhao Wouji, who would conduct their combat assessment.

With new students joining, Zhao Wouji's playful personality couldn't resist getting involved.

He decided to test Tang San, Xiao Wu, and Zhu Zhuqing personally—to see whether they truly qualified to be called monsters.

What he didn't know was that, not far away, atop a cottage roof at the village outskirts,

a rugged, broad-shouldered man in tattered clothing was watching the training field closely.

He looked about fifty—though his powerful frame and piercing eyes betrayed his strength.

His robes were ragged, unpatched, his expression lazy, as if roused from sleep.

But the moment Zhao Wouji stepped forward to fight, his eyes lit up like twin blades hunting prey.

It was, of course, Tang Hao—secretly watching over Tang San and Xiao Wu.

Ever since his son's twin martial souls had awakened, Tang Hao had seen the spark of vengeance.

He rarely showed himself, content to observe Tang San's progress from the shadows, and in a few short years, his son had nearly reached Soul King level.

Tang San had become his pride.

And Xiao Wu—she was a promise of a hundred-thousand-year spirit ring and bone, reserved for his son's future.

With Ah Yin's relic, Tang San would one day possess at least two hundred-thousand-year spirit bones.

Under his son's leadership, the Clear Sky Sect would rise again—of that, Tang Hao was certain.

But now, his focused gaze locked onto Zhao Wouji.

Unmovable Vajra, hurt my son, and you'll regret stepping into this world.

For Tang Hao, protecting his child wasn't just instinct—it was sacred duty.

Zhao Wouji had no idea he was standing on the edge of life and death.
