Chapter 67: The Benefits of Spiritual Perception
On the white beach, Luo Han stared in a daze at the lava-like trench left by his attack.
He clenched his right hand and, eyes on the smooth white stones, lifted his palm gently. With a flick of intent, he used his psychokinesis to control the pebbles, forming a cylindrical stream flowing around him. As they rotated, the stones clacked against each other with a rhythmic clack clack clack.
Feeling the feedback from the stone collisions, Luo Han smiled faintly. It felt like he'd discovered something new.
"Oh? So it was Little Brother Luo Han making all that noise," came a surprised voice. Luo Han turned to see Sister Shao returning.
"You're back, Sister Shao," Luo Han greeted.
"Of course. Your strength keeps growing, huh?" she replied, looking at him with a flicker of shock in her eyes. He's only been in the Rocks Pirates a few days, and his Devil Fruit development is soaring. At this rate, I'm not sure I could beat him anymore.
"Haha, it's nothing. If I don't improve, we'll be in real trouble next time we face a situation like that." Luo Han laughed, but there was little joy in his voice. His current strength still wasn't enough.
"By the way, did you reach the end of the island on your side?" he asked.
"No. It seems this is a large island," Sister Shao replied.
Indeed, the scenery along the white coast never changed, as if the island had no end.
"Did you all explore inland yet?" she asked, eyeing the dense fog that blocked visibility.
"I went. There's a mountain range running parallel to the coast. Golden Lion's still out there somewhere," Luo Han replied.
He glanced toward the fog. Later, I'll just bring both ships to the mountain peak using my powers. That'll settle our shelter problem.
"You haven't eaten yet, have you? Come have something first," Luo Han said.
Sister Shao nodded, and the two walked over to where Whitebeard was resting.
Luo Han told the chef to prepare more food, and the three of them sat around the smoldering fire.
"We'll head inland once Golden Lion returns. This place feels… off," Whitebeard said, staring at the now eerily still sea.
Strangely enough, when they first landed, waves lapped gently at the shore. Now the sea was so calm it looked like a mirror.
"Something's definitely off. Once Sister Shao's eaten, we should move," Luo Han agreed, a chill creeping up his spine.
They passed the time trading tales of strange islands they'd encountered—mostly Whitebeard and Sister Shao sharing their experiences. Luo Han listened intently, increasingly fascinated by the One Piece world's endless mysteries and fantastical islands.
"The meat's ready, Lady Shao!" the chef called, delivering a plate.
"Wow! Thanks!" she said cheerfully.
The chef nodded and stepped away.
…
After she finished eating, Whitebeard stood and looked around. His brow furrowed.
"Why isn't Shiki back yet?"
Luo Han shrugged. Maybe he's too embarrassed to show his face after what happened. Got punked by me, after all, haha…
Whitebeard glanced at him but said nothing. Those two probably had a falling out.
"Probably still exploring. With his strength, I doubt he'd get into trouble," Sister Shao added, wiping her mouth with a napkin she pulled from who-knows-where.
Whitebeard wasn't worried about Shiki's safety—just irritated at the delay.
"Luo Han, your powers should be able to bring the ships inland, right?"
"No problem. That was the plan from the start. If the tide rises, who knows where they'll get washed off to?"
Luo Han stood and dusted off his hands. "Easy."
"Perfect," Whitebeard nodded.
He instructed the chef to gather the crew. Luo Han had Tuck do the same. Within moments, hundreds of pirates stood in neat lines on the white beach.
"Go ahead," Whitebeard said.
Luo Han nodded and lifted both pirate ships off the water with a single thought, floating them toward the beach.
As the ships hovered above the sand, the crew watched in awe—especially Tuck's group. Unlike Rocks Pirates who'd already seen Golden Lion's floating ships, they were completely starstruck.
"Alright. Don't resist—I'm teleporting you all aboard," Luo Han said.
He used psychokinesis to grab their arms and toss them onto the ships.
Of course, Sister Shao received special treatment—fully enveloped in a gentle psychokinetic aura and gently lifted aboard.
Watching her slowly rise, Luo Han couldn't help but grin mischievously. So curvy… He glanced again. I mean, no one's watching. What's the harm in using my perception… just a little? Heheh…
He focused his spiritual sense on her—skin tanned and glowing, contours well-defined, smooth to the touch. Her scent? Mature and intoxicating.
Ah crap. His cheeks flushed. He quickly masked his expression and floated her aboard before he gave himself away.
This, after all, was one of the "perks" of Luo Han's spiritual perception—it could process not just sight and sound, but touch, smell, and taste too. It could even penetrate less dense materials if he focused hard enough. When he first awakened the ability, the overload of sensory input gave him headaches, so he'd disabled the extra senses and stuck with traditional Observation Haki.
But using it so often now, Luo Han had nearly forgotten he even had touch and taste sensing abilities.
It wasn't until Sister Shao's figure floated into view that the memory—and temptation—returned. He realized he'd never truly tapped into this "isekai bonus."
And honestly, it wasn't half bad. He replayed the sensations in his mind with a silly grin, completely unaware that a certain old virgin was watching him.
Back in reality, Luo Han also realized how powerful the combination of senses could be. This… this might be Sanji's ultimate dream ability…
Sister Shao gave him a funny look from the deck. She didn't understand why he was blushing just from watching her from a distance.
What she didn't know was that Luo Han's spiritual perception had just scanned her from head to toe. Had she known, her legs probably would've delivered justice immediately.
"I treat you like a kid brother, and you're fantasizing about me?!"
Still, her expression was just amused. But Luo Han, guilty as charged, looked away quickly and turned his attention to getting Whitebeard on board.
Only to turn around and be met by Whitebeard's teasing grin and lecherous eyes.
Oh no. Luo Han stiffened, his whole body trembling. Don't tell me… this guy too?!
Whitebeard chuckled but didn't say a word. He jumped aboard the ship himself.
