Chapter 64: The Mysterious "Infinite Fruit"
After their conversation with Lord Imu, the Five Elders arrived at a massive building hidden behind the Holy Land—a towering structure shaped like a medieval cathedral. This was the World Government's Archive, guarded constantly by CP0 operatives in the shadows.
Pushing open the grand doors, the Five Elders entered the archive once more, this time to investigate the elusive Devil Fruit they called the "Infinite Fruit."
Inside the enormous archive, rows of bookshelves towering over 20 meters lined the vast hall. They held all kinds of knowledge—intelligence, history, secrets—essentially everything ever discovered in the world.
Tap… tap… The only sound in the still air was their footsteps.
Following a narrow path between two central rows of shelves, the Five Elders reached a 10-meter-tall door at the end. The door looked ancient, adorned with pictographs that depicted the rise and fall of a long-lost nation.
They opened it and entered a circular chamber about 50 meters in diameter, like the interior of a massive tower. The ceiling rose nearly 100 meters, with only a round glass dome at the very top letting sunlight spill directly onto the center of the room.
Lining the circular walls were layers of rounded bookshelves. In the center sat a round table with five stools. The cane-wielding elder approached one shelf and pulled out a thin, aging book—barely a dozen pages long.
He gently placed the book on the table and took a seat, looking to the others.
"This is everything we've ever recorded about that Devil Fruit," he said.
The sword-bearing elder picked it up first and flipped through every page carefully. Despite his attention, the contents were sparse and quickly read.
The others followed suit, reading in silence.
When the last page was turned, the room fell eerily quiet—as though they could hear the sunlight shifting across the floor.
"None of the dozen known users matched that boy named Luo Han," the long-bearded elder finally broke the silence.
"So it's not him… then…" the blond elder murmured to himself.
Scrape. A stool shifted. The hooked-mustache elder stood up and faced the others.
"Then it might still be hidden on that island we never found."
The remaining four thought for a moment, then also stood.
"Right. Since those two kids first appeared on Bot Island, let's have CP? search around that area," the sword-bearer suggested.
The long-bearded elder nodded solemnly. "Once they find it, I'll go with you personally."
"It's necessary. We can't afford another mistake like last time," the sword-bearer replied, his tone icy and devoid of emotion.
"We'll leave it to you. Let's not keep Lord Imu waiting again," the other three said in unison.
The cane-bearing elder carefully returned the book to the shelf. The Five Elders exited the chamber together, closing the ancient door behind them.
Their eyes gleamed with cold resolve. It was clear—Ring Tree Island would soon face catastrophic consequences.
Meanwhile, the person at the center of this storm, Luo Han, was still basking in smug satisfaction, proud of how well Kyoka Suigetsu had fooled CP0 into believing his body was weak and that he couldn't possibly be the Mind-Mind Fruit user.
He had a vague sense that Ring Tree Island might be in danger… but he wasn't worried. After all, over the years, only the Rocks Pirates had ever successfully reached it. Everyone else had been swept away by the storms surrounding it.
It was as if the entire island was protected by a ring of mysterious weather. Any ship that got too close would be swallowed up by violent storms, vessels and crew alike.
This long-standing truth had led many, including Luo Han's group, to believe the Rocks Pirates were a rare exception—and that the phenomenon might never repeat.
Which made them all think Ring Tree Island was, in fact, quite safe.
And so, feeling confident, Luo Han had just landed on the island Tuck had mentioned before.
Rustle, rustle. Luo Han walked along its pristine white beach. The sand wasn't real sand, but made of small, smooth white pebbles the size of soybeans.
Thump. Unable to resist, Luo Han fell backward, stretching out and closing his eyes. So comfy… feels like lying on a massage bed.
BOOM! A much heavier impact followed, sending pebbles flying and nearly burying Luo Han.
He turned with a deadpan expression to see Cole lying next to him.
"Hehe… It's really comfortable, Brother Han," Cole said with an embarrassed smile, tossing a handful of pebbles onto himself.
"It is, yeah," Luo Han said, arms wide as he relaxed.
Perhaps it was too comfortable. Luo Han was nearly asleep when Whitebeard's voice called out, snapping him back to reality.
"Luo Han, kid! Come over here!"
"Huh? Right—on my way!" Luo Han responded, rubbing his eyes. He turned to Cole —who had already dozed off—and decided not to wake him. Let him rest. There's no danger here anyway.
Shuffle shuffle. Rather than flying, Luo Han walked toward the border where the beach met the forest.
He looked up at the trees—each about 50 meters tall, but oddly twisted as if something had forcibly warped them. Their bark was unnaturally smooth, almost polished. The lower trunk and exposed roots were darker than the upper parts, and Luo Han wrinkled his nose at the sour, rotten smell of waterlogged wood.
"This place floods at night. We need to head deeper inland and find a place to settle for now," Whitebeard explained, pointing at the tree roots.
"Scout the interior when you're ready. Golden Lion already went ahead. Shao and I will remain here."
Luo Han nodded, then turned to look at Cole . After thinking for a second, he said to Tuck, "Tuck, when Cole wakes up, tell him I've gone into the forest."
"Got it, Boss Luo Han," Tuck said, setting down the wooden crate he was carrying.
Luo Han nodded at Whitebeard, bent his knees slightly, and whoosh! shot into the sky.
Ahead, about a kilometer into the forest, a thick mist cloaked everything. Even sunlight seemed diluted, and only vague outlines of towering trees could be seen. In broad daylight under a clear sky, the fog looked almost unnatural—like a gateway to the underworld.
Luo Han scanned both sides—white beach stretched endlessly like a straight line. This island was either very long, or very large—or both.
Better safe than sorry. Luo Han covered himself fully with psychokinesis before diving into the mist, keeping his spiritual sense fully active.
Beneath the fog, the forest was dense and silent. Not a single sound. No birds. No animals. Not even insects.
This feels like a movie… like Alien: Covenant, Luo Han thought. A dead planet with no signs of life… just plants.
Could there be Xenomorphs here too?! League of Legends already invaded—if Alien shows up, that's it. This world's gone full apocalypse.
Panicking a little, Luo Han reinforced his psychokinetic barrier even more—just in case some black parasite tried crawling into his mouth or ears.
