Under the Sunflower Field.
This trip to Gensokyo was Kayal's own idea; he didn't even bring a Claymore guard, coming alone to the outskirts of this forest.
He reminisced about his childhood, smiled faintly, and stepped into the barrier.
What greeted his eyes was a brilliant golden yellow.
Kayal paused, then smiled.
Sometimes, such things did happen.
It was said that when Yakumo Yukari maintained the barrier, the nodes of the gap were not normal, which could cause such occurrences.
Gensokyo was originally an 'entry allowed, exit not allowed' place, but Kayal possessed power similar to the barrier, which allowed him to travel back and forth.
Once the nodes returned to normal, there would be no issue.
Kayal wasn't overly panicked; instead, he immersed himself in this splendid flower field.
It truly was a beautiful sunflower field.
Under the golden sunlight, the sunflowers, taller than a person, craned their 'necks' as if striving for every ray of sun, a truly magnificent sight.
Under the golden sun, the lazy sunlight was perfectly blocked by the dense sunflowers.
If Kayal hadn't been on a small hillside, he probably wouldn't have seen this beautiful scenery.
Kayal already knew that Gensokyo had many beautiful golden sights, such as the Scarlet Moon Night created by Remilia, the Vampire's young lady (though Remilia was later beaten by Hakurei Reimu...).
Although it seemed somewhat eerie, from a purely appreciative perspective, it was truly beautiful, very beautiful.
It was a beauty rarely seen in the world, which immediately moved Kayal.
Another example was the dance of the Ice Fairies in Fairy Lake under the scorching summer sun, which was also a beautiful and pleasant thing.
Kayal had developed a great interest in the scenery of Gensokyo.
However, he had never seen such a naturally stunning, dazzling beauty before.
It was truly moving.
Taking a deep breath of fresh air, Kayal smiled as the light particles all over him dissipated.
These light particles were his 'pass' for traversing the Gensokyo barrier.
But the light particles did not dissipate; instead, they fell into the petals of the sunflowers, and a faint, bell-like laughter could be heard in the air.
The sunflowers suddenly gathered as if alive, embracing Kayal.
Kayal paused, then burst into laughter, truly pleased with his magic; this was a significant advancement.
Because his light element was almost forming the basis of life.
This was an affirmation and progress in his application of magic, and an acknowledgment of his efforts.
Even though currently there were only little sprites with two emotions, joy and anger, it was still a very happy thing.
And sunflowers, by nature, coexist with photons, almost like a mother and child relationship, so they naturally followed the photons' command and began to play happily with him, their 'father.'
These sunflowers tossed Kayal high into the air and then gently caught him, truly like playing a game.
Even Kayal couldn't help but let go and join in the fun.
After playing for an entire morning, a panting Kayal was somewhat tired.
He was too lazy to rush back, so he simply lay lazily on the mattress formed by the sunflower petals and drifted off to sleep peacefully under the lazy sun.
"Hm hm hm hm hm..." Not long after Kayal fell into a deep sleep, a green-haired girl, carrying a picnic basket and holding a small parasol, walked through the gaps in the sunflower field, humming a cheerful tune.
However, as soon as she saw Kayal, her cheerful expression changed.
She transformed from a happy, relaxed girl in her twenties into a queen radiating faint killing intent.
But then, like a Sichuan opera face-changer, her expression shifted again to suspicion and conflicted feelings.
Doubt and strangeness.
Her delicate and beautiful face suddenly became comical.
[Eh? Eh! Have the flowers been ruined by someone! Damn it! I'm going to kill this guy, a piece of trash from the Human Village!]
[Wait... it doesn't seem like it!]
[It looks like the flowers moved on their own... No way, how could that be! I'm the Flower Youkai; the flowers should listen to me...]
[He... who is he?]
"Ugh..." Kayal groaned softly, then stretched and sat up from the bed of flowers.
After a slightly hazy, half-asleep gaze swept around, his eyes fixed on Yuuka, whose expression was constantly shifting.
"To see a beauty right after waking up, that's truly wonderful," Kayal said with a smiling compliment that made Yuuka's heart skip a beat.
It was a strange feeling... as if her face was flushed, her throat dry, leaving her unable to speak.
Kayal, of course, knew that most of Gensokyo's powerful Youkai and monsters often took on human female forms for communication and socializing, but he had never seen this particular person at the Hakurei Shrine's banquets.
Kayal naturally had his own strengths.
Although his martial arts were only second-rate, and his danmaku skills were just beginning, in terms of defense, he was probably an existence that even Reimu would find troublesome, right?
"Such beautiful green hair..." Kayal gently patted the flowers beneath him, and they immediately scattered, then beckoned to Kayal like dancing girls.
Kayal took the hand of the young girl, who was wearing a pristine white shirt and a plaid skirt, gently kissed the back of her hand, and then praised her.
His sunny demeanor enveloped her, making the girl's face instantly flush.
Turning sharply, she covered her burning face, Yuuka couldn't help but roar at herself internally, [Yuuka, what's wrong with you! Thousands of years of life, thousands of years of existence, how could you suddenly be so... so lacking? You can't even speak?]
This was natural.
Kazami Yuuka was a Flower Youkai.
Although she had lived for countless years and almost mastered the way of nature, her essence would not change.
As a Flower Youkai, she had always admired and been close to the sun.
Kayal, as a great master of light magic who controlled sunlight, was truly like a second sun in his entire being.
Let alone an intimate gesture like kissing the back of her hand, even his ordinary movements would emanate endless charm, making him the center of her attention.
A certain peeping tom snapped open her fan and chuckled mischievously from within a gap, her exquisite face showing only an amused, amused, and amused smile, clearly finding this situation utterly delightful.
"My name is Kayal." Kayal bowed slightly, performing a knight's courtesy, even though he wasn't even an apprentice knight.
"Ah, oh!" As if just realizing, Kazami Yuuka suddenly tugged at her skirt and performed a lady's curtsy, though after thousands of years of not doing it, she was a bit rusty.
"My name is Kazami Yuuka, please to meet you."
"Indeed, pleased to meet you, Yuuka, with your beautiful hair and beautiful name." Kayal's radiant smile was like the sun.
And so, the two met for the first time...
