Chapter 10 - Chapter 9: Ten Years Old

Three months later.

Two large carriages, fully loaded with grapes, were slowly pulled into the city by tall horses from outside the city. The glistening, ripe purple grapes on the carriages looked like crystals, incredibly tempting under the dew and sunlight.

As soon as they entered the city, the families of the knights, who had already received the news, surrounded them. With a silver coin here and a silver coin there, they bought both carriages of grapes completely dry.

Of course, this was because the knights, who had received the news early, had told their families. Knowing that this item could not only be eaten but also made into wine, the knights kept it in mind. Besides, even if it couldn't be made into wine, it could still be eaten, and it could be used to build goodwill!

When guests come, other knights' families all have this item available for guests to eat, but if you don't, where's your face?

So, when these women left, only entire carts of silver coins remained, estimated to be around a hundred.

Cyber's smile was lopsided. Even though he knew this money wasn't his, it belonged to his master, and his master was a generous fellow, so he surely wouldn't be left out!

The common people were still confused, wondering how the cart of goods, which had just been pulled in, had disappeared so quickly.

Fortunately, someone with quick eyes and hands stopped a woman who was about to leave. It seemed the two were relatives: "Auntie, why did you buy this?"

Everyone who had bought things had left, and only this one, who was slow, remained. The surrounding common people all gathered around.

Hearing her nephew's words, the woman paused. A joke, she thought. If buying this could help her build a good relationship with the young lord and earn goodwill, would she tell him!

But she couldn't say that out loud, so she just looked impatient: "Buying this allows you to make wine, you know! Not only can you eat it, but you can also make wine. It's not expensive at all."

The surroundings suddenly understood. England had very little wine. Brandy and whiskey had not yet appeared. There was only gin and absinthe, which were the favorites of the Celtic people. As for the pirates' rum, the Celtic people didn't like it. Roman wine was good, but it was expensive and the enemy's wine.

Now, hearing that this plant could actually be used to make wine, they suddenly realized that Roman wine had originated from this!

The common people, whose interest had been piqued, wanted to buy more, but when they looked back, they found that Cyber had already driven the carriage out the gate. At this, the common people went wild.

"Hey, hey! Look at all that money Maxi just had in his cart, probably two or three hundred silver coins, right?!"

"More than that! Counting the estate, he definitely earned more than two or three hundred!"

"How much money did he use? This must be a profit of two or three times!"

"Heh, two or three times? It's only been a few days? Maybe three times a year, how many times do you think he'll earn?"

...

These people stopped talking, but their eyes gleamed with a wolf-like green light.

Seeing Cyber leave early and return before noon, Kayal, who was sitting under the grape arbor enjoying the shade, was surprised: "It sold out so quickly?"

The sales of grapes were not a concern. The land of England was suitable for growing grapes. The famous brandy was made from grapes, and the English people were very fond of the taste of grapes. Kayal couldn't think of any reason for grapes to be unsellable before market purchasing power reached its maximum.

But this didn't mean Kayal wasn't surprised by Cyber's quick return. Humans had always been afraid of new things. According to Kayal's guess, it would have taken at least a day or two of waiting before anyone tried it. The fact that it all sold out on the first day greatly exceeded Kayal's expectations.

After Cyber explained in such detail, Kayal shook his head and smiled, "I didn't expect these fellows to be so well-informed. I owe them a favor."

He shook his head and picked up a roll of parchment: "Take this winemaking method and distribute it to the knights."

"My Lord! This is the main source of profit!" Having been with Kayal for three months, Cyber had learned most of Kayal's terminology. In his haste, Cyber no longer cared about his demeanor and cried out, prostrating himself on the ground.

"This kind of thing depends entirely on the timing. Even if they learn it, they might not do it better than us, but not giving it to them would indeed be somewhat unkind." Kayal shook his head, rolled up the parchment, and handed it to Cyber: "Go, let them each copy a portion, and then bring it back."

"Yes." Cyber could only go, looking like a wronged little wife.

"This game of chess, the intelligence is insufficient." Kayal shook his head. After Cyber left, he placed a piece on the stone chessboard next to him.

All sorts of chessboards under these grape arbors were made by Merlin using magic. Otherwise, if they were truly made by hand, it would take an unknown amount of effort to polish them to this state, but Merlin's magic could do it in an instant.

Aside from this game of Go, Kayal hadn't touched the other chessboards. This was because Kayal's current perspective was only this one area. The other intelligence was insufficient, so how could he plan?

"King Uther, huh..." Stroking the sapphire ring on his thumb, Kayal murmured. It was said that this sapphire ring was a magic ring that would unleash defensive magic when he was in danger. Merlin had given it to him. This sapphire ring was very beautiful, and it seemed Merlin had made it with care.

After giving him this ring, Merlin said she had something to do, leaving Kayal with a magic cultivation parchment, and the rest of the time would be for his own cultivation. Then, when he went the next day, Merlin had already disappeared.

Kayal didn't care. Merlin was just a passerby in his life. One more healing magic didn't add much, one less didn't subtract much. He went to Nottingham Forest purely to hide his secrets. For someone like him, if he were truly exposed, he couldn't even dream of living a good life; he could very well be burned alive.

Recently, he had found many good things in Nottingham Forest. A lot of ginseng and fleeceflower root were found, and other medicinal herbs were everywhere. Kayal was very dedicated, slowly organizing the small wooden house. One was to guide Cyber and the farmers in winemaking on the estate, and the other was to organize his treasures in the small wooden house. He didn't return to the castle much, which made Grand Duke Andrei grumble. However, the Gauls were recently cruising the seas again, and he didn't know if they were testing Camelot or spying on Rome across the way.

So Grand Duke Andrei was too busy to manage for a while, which allowed Kayal to wander freely for a long time.

These days passed slowly, until Kayal's tenth birthday...
