Lara's POV
After ensuring our guests were comfortable, I retreated upstairs for a much-needed shower to wash away the remnants of my father's blood. Part of me expected Austin to follow, but he chose instead to remain downstairs with the others, mingling among my pack members.
Descending the staircase, I'm struck by an overwhelming sense of gratitude for this extraordinary group of people who have become my chosen family. Each one of them stands here in support of me, demonstrating that commitment by forming connections with my pack.
Austin catches sight of me and turns with a warm smile. I complete my descent and move toward him, immediately noticing the electric atmosphere crackling through the pack. The energy has intensified significantly since I disappeared upstairs.
"Hello beautiful," he murmurs, his arm sliding possessively around my waist.
