Chapter 45 - Chapter 44: As expected of Sakumo's only son

To help Nohara Rin avoid this trap, Obito needed a substitute to awaken his Sharingan.

Obito needed a massive shock—losing someone dear would awaken it.

For example… Nohara Rin.

What could be more painful than seeing a loved one perish and only witnessing devastation? Let him bear that.

As long as the result was good, that was enough.

Looks like it's time for him to awaken his Sharingan, Raizen thought.

This session was free training. Kakashi walked across the wide training field to the edge.

"Kakashi, where are you going?"

Nohara Rin hurried after him, noticing the slightest shift in his mood.

Moreover, the recent news about Hatake Sakumo's mission failure causing losses to the Land of Fire had been quickly replaced by another story

Hatake Sakumo's heroic sacrifice for Konoha.

Nohara Rin, a commoner, didn't know the full details of his father's sacrifice, but the name Hatake Sakumo was etched on the memorial stone.

"I'm going to apply for early graduation,"

Kakashi said tersely, pausing briefly before moving forward.

"Isn't that dangerous?"

Nohara Rin asked, glancing at the application form....the test was scheduled for 5 PM that afternoon.

She knew Kakashi's abilities were exceptional.

Previously, hearing that Kakashi would graduate early would have filled her with admiration.

But ever since Raizen's cryptic words, Nohara Rin had deliberately collected every piece of information she could about Kakashi's father.

There were many things she had never known before, and her sources were limited to her parents and a few companions...a very closed-off method.

Now, she worried that Kakashi's emotions might compromise his mission.

With his talent, he wouldn't waste time on simple D-rank tasks like finding lost pets, investigating civilians, helping villagers dig sweet potatoes, or taking care of children...his missions would be far more dangerous.

Failure could easily mean death.

Wild beasts, bandits, even enemy ninjas...this was no longer child's play. This was the harsh reality of the ninja world.

"No, I'm not the kind of person who fails a mission. Besides, wasting time is pointless,"

Kakashi said, walking ahead alone.

Nohara Rin stayed behind, her concern growing.

She went to the training ground's rest area and found Obito.

"What? Kakashi's graduating early?"

Obito, shocked at the news that Kakashi had gone to submit his application, immediately jumped up from his chair.

He had been planning to rest, but all thought of leisure vanished, replaced by urgency.

"Isn't he the same age as us?"

Obito couldn't comprehend it.

Why was there such a huge difference between people of the same age?

Even the new foreigner, Uchiha Raizen, was advancing rapidly.

Was he the only one stuck in place?

Clenching his fists, Obito thought about why Kakashi and Raizen were always so close to Rin.

"I don't know… maybe it's because of their strength, or maybe it's because of their father,"

Nohara Rin said hesitantly.

"When's the exam?"

"Five o'clock in the afternoon."

"Then let's go check later."

Since they had nothing else to do after school, Obito agreed, and Nohara Rin nodded.

Hokage Building.

"Kakashi applied for early graduation?"

Sarutobi Hiruzen set down his pipe, exhaled smoke, and tapped the application form.

"It's Kakashi's application, Third Hokage,"

Chunin instructor Umino Ryu knelt respectfully.

Any student applying for early graduation needed the Third Hokage's approval.

Not to mention Kakashi was the "Son of White Fang."

The White Fang incident had just ended; Umino dared not delay a moment.

At this critical time, it was essential to inform the Third Hokage immediately.

Hiruzen Sarutobi set down the form, tapping the table with his pipe.

Umino lowered his head, silently awaiting Hiruzen's decision.

"Call the other examiners now. Come with me to conduct Kakashi's early graduation assessment."

"Yes, Third Hokage!"

Umino immediately focused chakra in his feet and used the Body Flicker Technique to depart.

Only Hiruzen Sarutobi remained, staring out the window, lost in thought.

In a room with a large vermilion door, a bold "Ninja" character hung above the frame.

Kakashi, wearing a light green scarf embroidered with circular patterns, began forming hand seals, swiftly blending spiritual and physical energy.

Sheep—Snake—Tiger.

His hand seals moved with lightning speed.

Boom.

Smoke dissipated, revealing a clone nearly identical to Kakashi, holding the "Tiger" hand seal.

When Kakashi lowered his hands, Hiruzen Sarutobi nodded slightly.

As expected of Sakumo's only son.
