His eyes darkened in a way I'd never seen before.
I was leaving the library, still reeling from the betrayal symbol and not knowing who to trust, when Darius appeared. Not in front of me. Behind. Cutting off my exit.
Through the bond, I felt his fury before I saw his face.
"We need to talk," he said. Voice low. Controlled. But barely.
"Not now. I'm dealing with something."
"So am I. Because apparently, you spent last night in Gideon's room. Alone. For hours."
My blood ran cold. "What?"
"Don't lie to me. Multiple students saw you. Reported it to me. Said you were seen entering his private quarters after dark and didn't leave until morning."
"That's not true. I was in my room last night. Alone."
"Then why are people saying otherwise?" His eyes were pure gold now. Wolf forward. Barely restrained. "Why is there photographic evidence of you outside his building?"
"Show me."
