Chapter 8 - Chapter 8

I felt truly moved. Although I had never met my parents, I was by no means an unfortunate person. From a young age, I had Aunt Yingji, Uncle Luo, and Xuetang by my side, like real parents and family. However, just thinking of Xuetang brought a strange, tingling feeling to my heart; I couldn't forget what I had witnessed today.

The warm reminiscing came to an end. Jiang Yingji suddenly noticed two cars parked there—a Mercedes and a taxi. Her eyes flashed, and she secretly memorized the information about these two cars, planning to investigate them later.

She wanted to know everything about Dong'er, big or small.

And when the cold gaze of the Queen of Shanghai swept over him, Xiang Anping felt a heavy, aching pain in his lower abdomen, as if he were standing naked on the top of a skyscraper. His whole body trembled uncontrollably, yet the jealousy and resentment in his heart gnawed at his soul like snakes. Why should this country bumpkin from the mountains receive such treatment from the Queen of Shanghai?!

Seeing Aunt Yingji's gaze sweep over, I glanced over too. Of course, I knew what this man wanted, but I didn't want to tell Aunt Yingji about such unpleasant things, lest I spoil her mood. I'd seen plenty of people like that in the past seven years, and even personally dealt with quite a few traitors.

"Aunt Yingji… I'm going in now…" I said to Aunt Yingji with some reluctance. But it wasn't good to just stand at the gate talking; I'd find time to visit her.

Aunt Yingji seemed even more reluctant than I was. She hugged me again. After several hugs, her blouse slipped down a little more, revealing more of her areolas, and her two tender nipples were faintly visible, almost bursting out.

After a long, lingering embrace, Aunt Yingji finally released me, but still held my hand reluctantly. Suddenly, I felt a fragrant breeze and a soft, warm sensation on my cheek. Only after Aunt Yingji had left did I belatedly realize that she had kissed me…

After this final farewell, Aunt Yingji got back into the car, waving her hand at me as the vehicle started to move.

"Goodbye!"

After Aunt Yingji left, I looked towards the gate and saw an elderly man dressed as a butler standing ramrod straight. It was Uncle Qin, the butler here. He smiled kindly at me and said, "Welcome home, young master."

I nodded, took a deep breath, and finally… I was home.

Watching the young man go inside, Xiang Anping felt a chill run down his spine with anger, but a strange sense of luck (a glimmer of hope) also rose within him. If he could go in, so could he. He started his car, intending to follow.

However, he was met with a sharp gaze from Butler Qin, and several men who looked like bodyguards behind the gate placed their hands on their hips, watching him warily.

Xiang Anping rolled down the car window and said to Butler Qin, "I want to go in and see Miss Xuetang… Please make an exception."

As he spoke, he took a check from the car, casually filled out a check for one hundred thousand US dollars, and handed it to Butler Qin.

Butler Qin accepted the check expressionlessly, but just as Xiang Anping thought he had a chance, he ripped it to shreds with a "rip," then stomped on it under his shoe a few times before flashing an impeccable smile and saying:

"Sir, please go back."

Xiang Anping felt a surge of rage and couldn't help but shout angrily, "That country bumpkin could go in, why can't I! Do you know my family is Kaisheng Group!"

Butler Qin slowly straightened up, his smile completely vanishing. After waiting for Xiang Anping to finish his rant, he pulled a handkerchief from his breast pocket, wiped his impeccably tailored suit, and said sullenly, "Country bumpkin?"

"That's our Luo family's young master and son-in-law. If you continue to speak so disrespectfully..." Butler Qin waved his hand, and several burly bodyguards quickly approached.

Xiang Anping stared, mouth agape, as if a fishbone were stuck in his throat. He was filled with fear, jealousy, and disbelief. That unassuming young man was actually Luo Xuetang's fiancé?!

He had actually heard that Luo Xuetang had a fiancé before, but he had never appeared in public. Everyone dismissed it as a rumor, not caring at all. But it was true, and such a…

Recalling the attitude of the Queen of Shanghai towards that young man, coupled with the identity of Luo Xuetang's mysterious fiancé, Xiang Anping's face turned ashen with jealousy. He knew he was powerless against him and could only force himself to endure it as he drove away.

However, the seed of hatred had been planted deep within him. Given the opportunity, it would suddenly pounce and bite one day.

Following the quiet path, I walked towards the white marble house in the center of the garden.

This is where I grew up, filled with unforgettable memories, especially the beautiful memories with Xue Tang…

I remember that lawn, Xue Tang's bare, jade-like legs, her little white feet dangling, as we lay on the grass reading books and comics together.

Passing by the swimming pool, I can't forget Xue Tang's mermaid-like figure…

Only after entering the house did I regain my composure and head towards Uncle Luo's study, where he usually worked. I knocked and went in, and there was Uncle Luo, unusually dressed in a bathrobe, handling some business. He saw it was me…

His eyes widened slightly, then his expression softened rapidly. He said gently, "You're back."

That simple sentence moved me deeply. I nodded and sat down on the sofa in Uncle Luo's room. I looked him over more closely. His full name was Luo Shaoliang. In his forties, he was remarkably well-preserved, still a charming middle-aged man with a sharp nose, bright eyes, and an elegant demeanor. Only a few wrinkles at the corners of his eyes added to his masculine charm.

I had seen photos of Uncle Luo in his youth; he was indeed a handsome man. It was precisely this that made Xue Tang, so beautiful, so radiant.

After catching up with Uncle Luo for a while, he, like Aunt Yingji, seemed to be aware of what I had been doing these past few years. The big conglomerate certainly had excellent connections. Therefore, he only comforted me briefly before moving on to a topic that any parent would be concerned about: "When do you and Xue Tang plan to get married?"

I knew Uncle Luo's character. The fact that he couldn't help but ask me meant he was probably in a hurry.

But I still gently shook my head, because what I saw at the airport today kept replaying in my mind. I wanted to find out if Xue Tang really had been with that man…

So I politely declined Uncle Luo's suggestion, saying, "Uncle Luo, Xue Tang and I haven't seen each other for seven years, and I left without saying goodbye. She must be very angry. So I'd like to ask you to keep it a secret for me. Don't tell Xue Tang I'm back. I want to arrange a surprise for her and try to mend our relationship."

Uncle Luo smiled and shook his head, saying, "That girl Xue Tang is indeed a bit… Alright, how about I arrange a place for you to stay?"

I was about to agree… Suddenly, I remembered that the organization seemed to have mentioned allocating me an apartment in Shen City, something like… So I said to Uncle Luo, "No need, I have a place to stay."

Uncle Luo nodded and stopped talking. He picked up a document from the side and began processing it, saying as he worked, "You can stay here tonight. Xue Tang called to say she has work to do at the company and won't be coming back."

I nodded in agreement, but a lovely, jade-like figure suddenly flashed into my mind, and a smile involuntarily appeared on my face. When I left, Xue Tang's younger sister, Luo Yu Tang, was only ten years old. She was exquisitely beautiful, with bright, sparkling eyes, red lips, and white teeth—simply an adorable little angel.

She should be home, right? Should I avoid her?

I looked at Uncle Luo, wanting to ask about Yu Tang, but Uncle Luo was already engrossed in his work, and I didn't want to disturb him. So, I carefully and silently left the room, closing the door behind me.

However, Uncle Luo is a meticulous person; he usually finishes his official duties by noon and doesn't leave them until the afternoon. But today it's already almost six o'clock in the afternoon, and he's still working on it. It seems he's been quite busy lately.

I walked down the other side of the corridor. Uncle Luo had just said that my room had been prepared and was ready for immediate move-in, which touched me deeply. This is what home feels like!
