Chapter 90 - Rule No. 91: Don’t Act Like It Meant Less Than It Did

The morning after felt… normal.

Which almost scared Aira more than anything.

No dramatic texts.

No awkward silence.

No over-analysis.

Just a simple message.

Reyhan: Morning.

She stared at it for a second.

Then replied.

Aira: Morning.

That was it.

And somehow, that felt steady.

When she reached campus, she spotted him near the entrance.

He didn't wave.

Didn't smirk.

Didn't act different.

But when she walked closer, his eyes softened in a way that hadn't been there before.

Not new.

Just confirmed.

"Hi," he said.

"Hi."

A small pause.

"So…" she started.

"So," he echoed.

Neither of them laughed this time.

She took a breath.

"We're not pretending that didn't happen, right?"

Reyhan frowned slightly.

"Why would we?"

"I don't know," she admitted. "People do that."

He stepped closer—not invading her space, just closing it.

"It meant something," he said simply.

The clarity in his tone settled something restless inside her.

"Good," she replied.

He studied her face for a second.

"You don't regret it."

It wasn't a question.

"No," she said. "Do you?"

He shook his head.

"Then we're fine."

That was the thing.

They were fine.

No panic.

No sudden labels.

No performance.

Just… acknowledgment.

Later that day, someone joked about them sitting too close.

For the first time, Aira didn't move away.

Reyhan didn't either.

He let his hand rest lightly against hers on the bench.

Not hidden.

Not announced.

Just there.

And she didn't pull back.

It wasn't about showing off.

It wasn't about proving anything.

It was about not shrinking what had already happened.

That evening, she thought about how easy it would've been to act casual.

To downplay it.

To pretend it was "just a moment."

But it wasn't.

It was a shift.

And shifts deserved to be respected.

She opened her notebook slowly.

Not smiling widely.

Just steady.

RULE #91: Don't act like it meant less than it did.

If something mattered,

honor it.
