My head hurt like a bitch. It wasn't the kind of headache you could ignore or sleep through. It felt sharp and heavy at the same time, like something was pressing down inside my skull while also stabbing behind my eyes. Even breathing felt louder than it should. For a few seconds I stayed completely still, eyes half closed, hoping the pain would ease if I didn't move.
It didn't.
"I feel sick," I heard Soren groan from somewhere nearby, his voice rough and miserable.
Before I could even respond, I heard the quick shuffle of footsteps and then the bathroom door swinging open. A second later there was the unmistakable sound of someone throwing up.
Yeah. That confirmed it.
What time was it? When did I fall asleep?
My mind felt foggy, like my thoughts were struggling to line up properly. I reached blindly for my phone on the table beside me and squinted when the screen lit up. The brightness made my head throb even more.
It was a little past 12 p.m.
"What?" I whispered hoarsely.
