Chapter 129 - Drowning

The autopsy room smelled like antiseptic.

It was the kind of smell that never truly left a place, no matter how many times the floors were scrubbed or the air was filtered. It clung to the walls, to the metal tables, to the very atmosphere itself. It was disgusting and Nicholas hated it. No matter how many times he has been in this place he would never get use to the disgusting smell in the air. He wondered how the scientist didn't complain about the smell of maybe they were use to it?

Or they didn't smell it at all because they were ere always in here.

As Chief of Security, he worked closely with the medical wing. Whenever a suspicious death occurred, an autopsy was required. Whenever an autopsy was required, he was often present.

Still, familiarity never made it comfortable.

There was something about standing in a room where bodies were opened, examined, and catalogued that reminded him how fragile life truly was.

This time, it was worse.
