Holland's POV
"Holland," Jamie said cheerfully the moment I walked into the private room.
The soft sound of running water and low instrumental music wrapped around me, warm and soothing, but it did nothing to calm the storm inside my chest. The lady at the front desk had directed me here after checking Jamie's booking, apparently, he'd gone all out and reserved a private room for the three of us.
That sounded exactly like Jamie.
I forced a smile as I stepped inside, but it felt brittle, like it might crack if I wasn't careful.
I hadn't slept through the night.
Every time I closed my eyes, my mind dragged me right back to yesterday, to the cinema, to Kastiel's voice, to his hands, to the way his eyes had looked at me like I was something precious instead of something small.
And then, worse than all of that, the rules crept in.
What would happen if the elders found out?
Would they force us to mate?
