Chapter 224 - Chapter 611: Giratina’s Way of Fighting

The moment Axel's words fell, Giratina sensed his Trainer's boiling battle intent. Purple-gold light flared violently in its draconic eyes as it let out a dragon's roar that pierced both reality and the Distortion World.

Its massive body lunged forward, carrying Axel who was holding Precipice Blades. Like a true dragon knight, it soared into the air, and the Precipice Blades Axel had seized from Groudon slashed down fiercely in a full-powered strike at Groudon.

BOOM!

Two forces capable of tearing apart a continental shelf collided head-on atop a gigantic energy arena automatically formed by raging Ground-type energy, towering like a mountain.

No probing, no maneuvering, only the most primitive and savage clash of raw power.

The instant the two Precipice Blades met, Ground-type energy flooded the sky, as if time itself had frozen.

Space let out an overburdened groan. Centered on the point of collision, a visible ring of mixed dark-red lava and golden earth energy erupted outward.

A horrifying shockwave laced with spatial storms spread crazily in all directions at a speed beyond sound, like a world-destroying halo.

"Ugh!", On the ground, Lusamine and Lillie did not even have time to cry out properly before Gardevoir, who was battling Kyogre on the other side, was distracted into action.

A psychic barrier appeared, instantly filling with spiderweb-like cracks the moment it touched the edge of the shockwave, then shattering like fragile glass.

At the same time, Gardevoir teleported in front of them and raised a Protect barrier.

Even so, the two still felt their organs churning violently, their ears filled with nothing but the roar of destruction.

This kind of battle between gods was simply not something mortals could take part in.

BOOM!

With a thunderous explosion, the land below, like a brittle biscuit, was smashed by the shockwave from the clash of Precipice Blades, instantly splitting open into a bottomless canyon.

Cliffs collapsed and shattered into rubbles under the aftershocks.

The solid ground beneath Groudon's feet rippled violently like water struck by a stone, then large sections caved in one after another.

Groudon stared at the sky in shock. It was one thing that Giratina could fight it, and even being driven into confusion by Giratina was something it could accept.

After all, the other party was also a god, and one that had lived from Hisui to the present, one of the gods closest to Arceus.

What it could not understand was why a mere mortal could obtain power comparable to its own.

It had released the Red Orb to ensure it could be awakened from the unfathomable depths of the seabed cavern, to control mortals, not to be controlled by them.

Amid its rage, it let out a pained roar, feeling its physical condition deteriorating further.

Being forcibly made to condense Precipice Blades under the control of the Red Orb had already worsened the backlash.

The sluggishness of the energy within its body was infinitely amplified under such high-intensity output.

More fatal still was the paralysis from Giratina's perfectly timed Thunder Wave, which struck at the critical moment when its muscles and energy channels were stretched to their absolute limit.

After the two Precipice Blades collided, Groudon had intended to use another move, but suddenly a flash of paralyzing electricity ran through its body, stiffening it beyond its control.

This momentary stiffness might have been insignificant under normal circumstances, but in a peak clash of god-tier power, it was nothing short of a fatal opening.

"Giratina, now!"

As Axel's voice rang out, Giratina keenly seized this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, the power it had stored for so long erupting in an instant.

A gigantic nail suddenly appeared beside Axel, making him jump in fright.

Immediately after, Ghost-type energy gathered wildly beside Giratina, spinning in the sky like a drum washing machine, forming a massive vortex that eventually took the shape of a hammer.

Axel: "..."

'Its condition is already this bad, wouldn't Hex be better?'

'Who the hell told you to use Curse at a time like this!'

But having finally found such an opportunity, Axel was not about to stop Giratina's move. That would be the same as handing back the hard-won advantage.

The hammer struck the nail, driving it viciously into Giratina's own mind.

In this downright deranged scene, Giratina seemed to feel no pain at all. Instead, it split its mouth wide in laughter.

A huge amount of its stamina vanished, condensing in midair into a strange force that drifted along Groudon's body.

The next moment, Groudon's already grim complexion turned even paler.

It felt its stamina draining rapidly. Even if it tried to flee now using Ground-type moves, it would run out of stamina midway.

As for the fact that it would not truly die within the earth, who knew whether the ground's restorative power could withstand such rapid stamina loss?

If it got stuck half-dead within the earth, that really would be eternal darkness.

'Damn it, what kind of Legendary fights like this?'

At that moment, another change erupted.

The Precipice Blades in Axel's hands and the one in Groudon's hands shattered simultaneously, the Ground-type energy within them completely detonating.

Giratina reacted instantly, dragging Axel into the Distortion World, leaving Groudon to take the hit head-on.

Its mountain-like massive body was struck solidly by its own out-of-control power and the devastating explosion Axel triggered.

"Aoooo!"

An unprecedented howl of pain shattered the clouds in the sky. Its thick, dark-red armor cracked and broke apart over large areas under the terrifying blast, revealing horrifying wounds beneath, flowing with lava.

Its enormous body was like it had been smashed by an invisible siege hammer, staggering backward uncontrollably, each step leaving deep craters in the collapsing earth.

If its body had not been constantly in contact with the ground, that level of explosion would have been enough to knock it unconscious!

Even though Axel and Giratina had retreated into the Distortion World, they were still flung away by the blast wave.

As a Legendary whose battle aftershocks alone could destroy continents, Groudon's energy level was extremely high.

Unlike the space-time twin dragons with their terrifying divine authority, Groudon and Kyogre relied purely on overwhelming power in battle.

Giratina rolled several times within the Distortion World before barely stabilizing itself.

Axel was not doing well either. His mental power was evenly matched with Groudon's, and it was only because Groudon did not know how to use it that Axel had been able to keep crushing it with the Red Orb.

After such prolonged clashes, the searing pain in his mind nearly made him pass out.

Fortunately, Groudon was also at the end of its rope. Axel was just about to have Giratina bring the others into the Distortion World so they could recover for a bit before continuing the fight.

Giratina nodded excitedly as well, the corners of its mouth pulling into a huge grin.

For Giratina, it had not even used Axel's full set of tactics yet. This was barely the beginning.

Suddenly, a vast dragon's roar echoed from the horizon.

Giratina: "???"

'Damn it, this guy is here to steal the kill again?'
