Chapter 205 - Chapter 539: Setting Up the Dragon Vein

After Rasa finished speaking, an expression of disbelief appeared on Maki's face.

His first thought was that Rasa had gone mad, or that he had just had a dream.

However, Rasa had clearly already anticipated such a reaction from Maki.

He slowly extended his hand and gently patted Maki on the shoulder.

In the next instant, a vast and surging wave of chakra rushed toward Maki's body like a tidal flood.

Maki immediately felt his whole body lighten up. The crushing exhaustion that had weighed on him vanished by more than half in the blink of an eye.

"Th-this is actually real?"

Maki stared wide eyed, his face full of shock.

Faced with Maki's doubt, Rasa silently nodded.

The chakra given by Otsutsuki Hagoromo not only healed his injuries, it also greatly boosted both his chakra recovery speed and his overall limit.

Right now, he was several times stronger than before!

Rasa once again lowered his voice and revealed to this trusted aide, "This may be our only chance to turn the tide and make a comeback."

"That Uchiha Rengoku is far too strong."

"Even if we're lucky enough to survive this time and return to the village, looking at the entire ninja world, it will probably all belong to Uchiha Rengoku in the future."

Rasa continued to analyze the current situation, "But if we can find a way to eliminate Uchiha Rengoku, then everything will be completely different."

In this fierce war, why had Konoha brought so few people to the battlefield?

The reason was actually very simple. The others did not need to fight at all. Rengoku alone was enough to handle everything.

The rest of Konoha's people, some acted as cheerleaders, shouting encouragement for their comrades from the rear; others turned into cleanup crews, responsible for dealing with the mess left behind after the battle.

But all of this was built on the premise that Uchiha Rengoku was invincible.

If Rengoku were to die in battle, then Konoha's combat power would suffer a devastating blow and collapse instantly.

Even though their current opponent, Sunagakure, had already lost the vast majority of its fighting strength, do not forget that there was more than just Sunagakure on this battlefield. There were also enemies from Iwagakure and Kumogakure watching like hungry tigers.

Rasa stared solemnly at the map in his hand and lightly tapped a spot with his finger, "Set the rally point here. Order everyone to move there and assemble immediately."

Standing at the side, Maki's heart jolted violently when he heard this.

He knew full well that Rengoku's overwhelming strength was beyond question. Using him as bait to lure the enemy was undoubtedly an extremely dangerous move.

If Rengoku could not hold back and attacked first, then to what terrifying degree would their own casualty numbers skyrocket?

But things had already come to this. Sunagakure truly had no room left to retreat, no losses left to lose.

After thinking for a moment, Maki took a deep breath and replied decisively, "I understand. Leave this to me!"

———

Over the next two full days, Konoha's forces spared no effort in searching for Sunagakure's hiding place.

However, this seemingly intense and busy search operation was in fact only half genuine.

The reason Rengoku had stayed his hand was because he was quietly waiting for Otsutsuki Hagoromo to come and launch a surprise attack on him.

In reality, Otsutsuki Hagoromo knew that he did not have absolute confidence in defeating Rengoku, so he had gone to the Dragon Vein to set things up instead.

Just like that, two days passed in the blink of an eye, yet Rengoku never saw Otsutsuki Hagoromo appear again.

'Did he choose to give up? Or is he secretly plotting how to deal with me?'

Rengoku silently speculated about what Otsutsuki Hagoromo was planning, but in the end he came up empty.

In that case, Rengoku thought, he might as well bring this war to an end first and make plans after returning to Konoha.

Just then, a subordinate hurried over to report to Rengoku, "Lord Rengoku, the people of Sunagakure seem to have regrouped again!"

It turned out that earlier on, Rengoku had already used the Mind's Eye of Kagura to mark and track Sunagakure's people, so he had a clear grasp of the general direction in which they had fled.

Because of that, he ordered Kato Dan and the others to pursue them along that direction.

Sure enough, before long Kato Dan returned and quickly reported the whereabouts of Sunagakure's forces.

"They actually regrouped again?"

Hearing this news, even Rengoku could not help but feel surprised.

After all, the reason Sunagakure had regrouped the first time after being crushed and scattered was because they did not yet know that Rengoku could fly.

But now, this second gathering was happening even though they clearly knew Rengoku could fly, yet they still insisted on clustering together.

'What is this supposed to mean? Are they looking for death?'

'Something is off, extremely off.'

Rengoku frowned slightly, took out a detailed map from his clothes, fixed his gaze on a certain spot, and lightly tapped it with his finger as he asked suspiciously, "What kind of place is this that makes Sunagakure's people willing to take such a risk just to gather here?"

Kato Dan carefully examined the map in his hands, frowned slightly, and gently shook his head.

After all, Konoha's marching maps were not something cobbled together at random. Their organization and planning had to be the result of careful thought and meticulous preparation.

Every piece of information that could be scouted was clearly presented in detail on this map.

Even when it came to an enemy force like the Land of Wind, the same was true.

Rengoku stood to the side, resting his chin on his hand, deep in thought.

He silently pondered, 'What kind of factor could exist within the Land of Wind that would pose a threat to me?'

He turned his gaze to the map depicting the terrain of the Land of Wind and studied it with full concentration.

However, after looking for quite a while, he always felt that this map seemed to be missing some crucial parts.

At that moment, a flash of inspiration streaked through his mind like lightning, and realization dawned on him.

Next, Rengoku gently closed his eyes and activated his pupil technique, sending a message to Orochimaru far away in Konoha.

After only a dozen seconds or so, there was a soft swish, and a figure appeared abruptly before Rengoku like a ghost.

Looking closely, the newcomer was none other than Minato Namikaze, who had arrived using the Flying Thunder God Technique.

Because of the lessons learned previously, before this operation Minato had already taken precautions, leaving Flying Thunder God marks on every companion.

This way, as long as Rengoku sent out a summons signal, Minato could arrive at the scene at astonishing speed no matter where he was.

"Rengoku, Senior Dan," Minato smiled warmly and politely greeted the two of them.

"Minato, you really got here fast this time!"
