The Archduke's aide, whose name she still didn't know, caught sight of her at the same moment she had seen him. He raised an eyebrow in amusement as a faint smile tugged at his lips.
Ashelia wondered what he found so funny.
Archduke Eldrath soon joined his aide outside the carriage. Unlike his clothes three days ago, he now wore more lavish garments befitting an Archduke, making Ashelia purse her lips.
He wore a long-sleeved black undershirt that was peeking out of an intricately gold embroidered doublet of the same colour which was secured at his waist with a belt, it was complemented by finely tailored black trousers and leather boots of the same color.
A dark velvet coat draped loosely over his shoulders, while a pair of gloves in matching ebony covered his hands.
Ashelia's lips twitched in disbelief. 'He looks like he's come to attend a funeral!'
But a part of her grudgingly accepted that it was a fine way to dress. 'It suits him. The gold embroidery brings out his eyes…'
