Ashelia was silent for a long time. It was like her tongue had become too heavy to answer her father's question. 'How did he find out?!'
"Shelia.' The Duke called in a soft but firm tone, making her look up at him. "Are you not going to answer me?"
Ashelia finally let out a defeated sigh as she clutched her shawl. "Yes, I know who saved me from the assassins."
"It was the Archduke, wasn't it?" Duke Alister asked with a dry smile.
She nodded her head at him. "Yes, it was. But father, when did you find out?"
The Duke shook his head lightly. "I've known since the moment I saw the dead bodies of the assassins." He said. "The Archduke has a particular way of slaughtering enemies, either their head or one of their limbs must be separated from their body."
'Or he pierces their throat with his bare hands…' Ashelia added in her heart.
