Chapter 88 - The Beginning of Control

In Asgard, a few days had passed since both the eldest daughter of Athena and the eldest daughter of Hades awakened their powers.

Things were going well on the island; joy and calm had spread throughout it, and most of the children who possessed the potential of rulers had left the island, heading to other places to awaken their powers.

Only the eldest daughter of Hades, the eldest daughter of Athena, and the triple twins remained.

At that time, Odin and his brothers were gathered inside the same cave where the eldest daughter of Athena had awakened her power.

As soon as they entered the cave, Odin looked at them with deep calm and said in a steady voice:

"This is the closest place from which we can channel our energy to the Giant Child, as Asgard informed me."

None of his brothers spoke; they merely nodded quietly in agreement.

When Odin saw this, he turned to Hades and said in a softer tone, though it still carried a hint of testing:

"What is it, Hades? Are you still angry because of what I said to your daughter about that boy… or what?"

The moment he said that, Hades' face reddened with anger, and he replied in a charged voice:

"You should have done that without interfering, brother! She is my daughter, and I have the right to choose the man she will marry!"

At that, Poseidon looked at him with clear boredom and said with a sigh:

"What is wrong with you, brother? You're acting as if Odin has already married her to his eldest son.

He was merely hinting at the boy's potential and kindness—nothing more.

Don't be this angry… and honestly, I think that boy has remarkable potential.

Don't you truly see him as suitable for your daughter?"

As soon as Poseidon finished speaking, Athena calmly intervened and said:

"Yes, Hades. Odin was speaking to your daughter while I was present.

He did not try to force her into marriage in any way.

All he did was point him out—nothing more."

When Odin noticed the discussion beginning to drag on, he cut them off in a firm voice:

"Enough now. Let us focus on our father's orders first, and afterward we will see what Hades wants.

Is that acceptable?"

Hades nodded in agreement, as did the rest of the brothers.

At that moment, Odin's expression completely changed, and he spoke with extreme seriousness:

"Then… let us begin."

As soon as he said that, his eyes turned white, and he raised his hands toward the sky.

His brothers did the same at that very moment.

Suddenly, the cave they were inside turned into a vortex of terrifying powers.

Yet those powers did not spread outside the cave, nor did they destroy it; instead, they were under terrifyingly precise control.

That energy burrowed deep into the earth and began spreading through the mountain on which they stood.

As it spread, Asgard took control of it with ease and directed it straight toward the Giant Child who was on the verge of being born and formed.

When the energy drew close to the Giant Child's body, his body trembled slightly, as if rejecting it.

And when his body trembled… the entire mountain shook with it.

But the children were not in danger.

Odin had deliberately sent them down from the mountain on that specific day—not randomly, but because of what they were about to do.

That was why he had Hades' three-headed dog guard them far away from the mountain.

In truth, the children needed no protection at all.

They were in a safe haven within Asgard itself.

Even if monsters approached the area where the children were, they would flee immediately, instinctively terrified,

for they sensed the immense will protecting that place—

a will that made any creature who even thought of approaching run away without hesitation.

At the same time, Asgard was trying to insert the energy of his children into the Giant Child—not only to nourish him, but to control his mind,

to make him a servant to Asgard, to his children, and to his lineage.

But it was not easy.

Every time Asgard attempted it, the Giant Child resisted—

a silent, instinctive resistance, yet a powerful one.

When Asgard felt this resistance, he let out a low snort and said to himself:

"So… you feed on the mountain's energy in order to be born?

Very well… then feed on it."

The moment he said that, Asgard polluted the entire mountain with the energy of his children.

Had the Giant Child not absorbed the mountain's energy—now tainted with the energy of Asgard's offspring—

he would not have grown,

and he would not have been completed.

When the Giant Child felt the disappearance of the energy that had been trying to nourish his body,

he rejoiced instinctively and continued absorbing the mountain's energy without hesitation.

Yet he felt a slight sense of confusion.

The energy he was absorbing now was not the same as before.

It was different…

heavier…

but he did not think much of it.

After all,

he was a child—

even if he was a child of giant lineage.

And so, he continued to absorb the mountain's energy,

energy that had already been tainted by Asgard and his children.

When Asgard sensed that the child had begun absorbing that energy,

he smiled faintly and began—little by little, very slowly—

to take control of the child's mind.

Not all at once,

not violently,

but through a subtle, insidious progression,

so the child would notice no danger,

and the control over his mind would succeed without major issues.

Time passed swiftly.

When Asgard felt that there was no longer any need to feed the mountain with the energy of Odin and his sons,

he sent a brief message to Odin that said:

"Enough."

The moment Odin heard it, he immediately stopped channeling his energy into the mountain and said to his brothers in a weary voice:

"Enough… we have already completed our task."

At that same moment, all his brothers stopped channeling their energy into the mountain and sat down inside the cave, exhausted.

When Odin saw them in that state, he said calmly, trying to hide his own fatigue:

"Well done, my brothers…

We have succeeded."
